We had a use case where we needed to display SSRS reports via our new Angular application. With the SSRS module no longer supported by Microsoft, we scoured the web to find a solution. Bold Reports fit this bill perfectly. We were able to implement the plugin into our Angular application easily and display our existing reports with hardly any modifications.
We found the support to be very impressive. The onboarding process was excellent, with a shared call to discuss our requirements. We encountered a small issue, reported it, and it was promptly fixed in a subsequent release.
Overall, we’re quite happy with Bold Reports. We’ve also found that the Bold Reports application creates reports that look and feel way better than any report SSRS can create. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don’t really have anything negative to say. However, it would be nice to be able to run the RDL for SSRS directly, but this is a specific use case for us. Native Bold Reports don’t have this restriction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Throughout the process of implementing the embedded tools into our application Bold Reports was very responsive and quick to respond to any help requests. They provided instruction and code examples to help the development process. We also have a team member creating sample reports and templates to be used by our clients and any questions were also quickly answered. There is extensive documentation online, however it can be tough to navigate. The report designer itself is a very powerful tool, and once you have been trained on how to use it, provides a great reporting solution. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would be great if data sources were compatible with the OAuth2 protocol. Although there is a work around to use them, the solution does not include token lifetime management. In modern applications this is standard. Currently the API is a bit limited. It would be nice to see the scheduling of reports available. Using the embedded report designer, creating a schedule alongside in our UI is a natural next step. Performance when large data is involved. E.g. we tried to export a 50 page report into pdf, each page containing a highresolution image (15MB minimum size), viewer goes blank after some time. We have hosted this on docker container. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
