BoardEffect Pros and Cons

I like how easy it is to create secure books for board meetings. We haven't had an opportunity to use it often, but I also like the electronic voting. Additionally, I have created data, conflict of interest, and board talent forms using the polls and surveys function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think the creation of new accounts is a bit tedious. I would prefer more information on one page as opposed to going through several tabs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have not had any negative experiences using BoardEffect. BoardEffect Support is so helpful in resolving any issues with your specific platform or perhaps it is an issue they will escalate to the product team. Everything! The ease of uploading all the documents needed for the board meeting. The links so others can upload documents...all this makes it so much easier to get board materials together for board members and then out to them. I was printing off books prior to getting BoardEffect and this has just made it so much easier. Plus all the other great features like surveys and the library to house all of our board documents or articles of interest. Joining a meeting virtually is just one click for users. And so much more. I find BoardEffect very easy to use as an admin but more importantly as a Board member. It is easier for our Board to navigate than Director Point. I like that it is very simple to access documents and other info. It was very easy for folx to learn the new platform, I have always had amazing customer support, and it was easy for me to transfer our data and implement the program into my workflow. It would be helpful if BoardEffect had an option to know whether folx have viewed the meeting book or not, like we did in Director Point. That was a vital tool for us that I no longer have. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the document editing and "contributor" capabilities. Using contributors gives us the option to have our Directors add their department reports each month, without having to purchase licenses for all of them. I also like that the platform allows you to edit word documents without having to leave the website! Our Board Members were very receptive to the implementation of BoardEffect, and have been successfully utilizing the platform on iPads. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish I would have investigated an electronic signature option further. I still have to have our resolutions signed on paper, or through a different platform. BoardEffect has made the process of managing permissions and confidential access much easier compared to our previous solution. We have received outstanding support and tips from our account representative and never have to worry about being left hanging with questions and needs for support. There is nothing I dislike, but I would like to see the mobile app to implement a clear distinction between buttons that have been selected but are just loading and buttons that have not been selected. We have had some directors select the same button numerous times because they thought the system did not register their inital request (due to little distinction in color). BoardEffect is really convenient particularly when it comes to organizing several board activities due to its user friendly features. It covers all the features of meetings including consolidation of the documents from meetings, action item tracking and conveying of messages to board members. When integrated with the personal calendar and the document management systems, scheduling and information retrieval have become easier. As for the weaknesses of BoardEffect, it is essential to note that, sometimes, the application may slow down when handling a large number of documents. This may make preparations of board and related meeting documents time consuming and slower in preparations for reviews. Besides, the platform provides a great number of options which is rather convenient, at the same time, it happens that performance problems happen from time to time which takes more time to solve and handle. I love how you easy you can integrate online meetings in your meetings for those that can't attend in person. It is easy to use for the board members. It was easy to implement when we had to set it up and they helped every step of the way. Their support is great, especially during the implementation process.
