BoardEffect Pros and Cons

I think one of the most helpful aspects of Board Effect are their staff members. I honestly don't know if I could have figured out how to use all of the features without staff support. They were helpful and could answer all of my questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think the platform is quite complicated if you don't have support from BE staff or really dig into the tutorials on their website. It is a difficult platform for older board members who aren't up to date in their tech knowledge. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have been using BoardEffect for a little over 2 years now. At first, it was confusing to me. But now, I really like the ease of implementation and entering various information, scheduling events/meetings, and preparing books. It really is convenient for our organization. Also, the few times I have had to contact Customer Support, that have been very responsive to my requests. I use BoardEffect several times a month for our monthly board meetings. We have been using BoardEffect for a year now. As the Administrator, I utilitize BoardEffect daily. I find the help guides very user friendly and refer to it on a regular basis. There was only one time I needed customer support and they were very responsive and resolved the issue immediatley. Implementation was easy as I set it up during the Club's slow season. The shared capability, resource storage, and emailing app members. Everyone is very helpful and there are many topics in the help section. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The MS 365 integration is very helpful with correcting problems. I wish I could control where the agenda breaks over two pages. Sometimes one point is split between 2 pages. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The meeting books, it takes so much effort to put the pdfs together for board and committee meetings and it makes it so easy Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It would be a great feature if the files that are stored in BoardEffect could be directly connected to a sharepoint file or OneDrive. At the moment, we have the files in BoardEffect, but then we also have to remember to store files in the sharepoint or OneDrive. If we could store it in one place and have them update in both BoardEffect and the other platform, that would be extremely beneficial. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I dislike the fact that news sometimes does not populate correctly and spits out errors. We have still not solved this issue. Also the site is not friendly to screen readers for blind people. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how easy it is to create an agenda and attached documents. The Categories are easy to move around if needed. The notice to view files that did not download successfully is a nice feature. All around user friendly. Customer support is always prompt and helpful. We use this program on a quarterly basis and have enoyed using Board Effect. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When in the Meeting Book View tab, there a some glitches when clicking on topics/documenst to view. Sometimes it does not take you to the topic/document that you chose.When you mininmize the sub categories, it will not keep them closed when in the book viewer. I was able to quickly access everything I needed to in BoardEffect, and the best thing – it does it all for the board. Collection of all board documents is very helpful and saves a lot of time. I find it fairly easy to integrate it with our email system, which makes it easy to email update and agendas out. Ease in administration has also been depicted by the ability to easily train new members to the board. What I don’t like about BoardEffect is that the mobile app has some lagging problems at times. This has lead to inconvenience when one wants to access document while on the move. Also, the setup and configuration of the platform at the outset took more time than expected and was relatively difficult. These issues have at times resulted in inefficiencies, especially when board members are on the move and require information on an as needed basis. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I really like BoardEffect for its rich functionality, such as automated or recurrent reminders, and secure space for file sharing. These tools have brought a lot of of change in board management since it is now easier to prepare for meetings and to manage or keep track of documents that are vital in the board’s activities. The interface and the overall structure of the software are very logical and, as being able to interact with all the essential services in one platform increases our productivity. There is still some deficiency in the reporting feature which can definitely be enhanced in BoardEffect. The current reports are lacking in customization and detail making it difficult to pull out specific information needed for board meetings. Therefore, we find ourselves having to manually compile data to be able to arrive at the level of detail necessary for the reports that we need.
