Best Practice Engine (BPE) is a very powerful tool for identifying and measuring gaps in our software development practices. Its informative analyses provide recommendations on possible problem areas so that we are able to contain them before they escalate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What do you dislike about Best Practice Engine?
Some of the reports are generalized and may not capture all the details of the development process we follow. There is a disadvantage however that the recommendations provided by BPE cannot be fine tuned to apply to our environment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It’s great for stopping bad practices before they are saved and makes it easy to clean up existing violations.
It’s an essential part of our code review process saving time on the review and time that would have been spent on fixing issues down the road.
Easy to override Out of Box definitions and create your own.
Best feature is the real time training that developers/admins get as they are working in the system. There is nothing better than a system that trains people on best practices right in the IDE! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Best Practice Engine?
We implemented BPE to ensure our code reviews are performed quicker and our code reviewers are able to focus more on the design aspects of the code they are reviewing. With the large number of update sets we complete on a daily basis, it is very important for us to be able to accurately and quickly perform code reviews.
