What do you like best about Azure Portal?

Ergonomic, easy onboarding, i find it so clear & intuitive to use for anyone just starting in the cloud business Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Azure Portal?

As a cloud engineer, I sometime wish if there was a "sandbox / fake " subscription so we can test out new features and also the expensive ones without incurring charges for our customers. For example, I wish i didn't have to get a Trial Premium P2 license for AZ Active Directory so that I can try out "Conditionnal Access" feature. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Azure Portal:

Azure Portal was the igniter of my career in the cloud. At first, I was interesed in Azure because it felt more intuitive than any other cloud console I saw at the time. Also, they offered a one year trial and then the documentation was so well written and structured that it helped me get my first VM's running in an incredibly small amount of time. Then I started discovering other services likes Databases, Storage, and Networking. Today I'm fully certified on Azure and I recommend anyone who's willing to orient its career to the cloud I say: Azure Portal is the way to go ! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Azure Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

Portal makes engineers have a clear vision on the relationship between cloud components/service before writing code to automate their consumption. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Azure Portal?

The Portal is very handy and it is very easy to create/delete or modify a new or already created resource. You can create your own dashboard as required by you to put the required resources you want to see. You can replicate your data in terms of Azure Storage or Cosmos DB by just click on two buttons. You do not have to bother for the backend resources or configuration of Services offered by Azure PaaS Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Azure Portal?

As of now, it hs been that sometimes the Azure portal takes too much time to load and it crashes as well. It may be that the network connection is not strong which restricts its complete page load. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Azure Portal:

I would like to advise all the developers who are keen to learn cloud computing and development that make s use of the Azure Portal to the best for creating new resources, modifying any resources, upgrading to a new level or Service Plan for Aure Web Jobs, Azure Analysis Server, Azure Functions, Azure Databecks, Azure DataFactory, etc.

For day to day monitoring of Azure Resource, Azure Portal is the best place to do so. It provides real-time monitoring and analysis. Azure Portal always makes use of Multi-Factor Authentication which in terms guarantees you with safety and security concerning confidential data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Azure Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

I have been involved in various kinds of projects involving Azure Development. I have always used Azure Portal to open or log into those resources. One quick example is Creating and launching Azure Data Factory through the Azure Portal. Also you can navigate to the various Azure Storage Options such as Blobs, Cosmos DB, etc without even downloading Azure Data Studio. For Azure Functions, you can core directly using the Azure Portal UI rather than using any Visual Studio or Visual Code for writing, testing, and debugging your code. One of the best feature it has, the RunBook for automation in which you can do shell scripting without any involvement of Shell Scripting tool like Windows Powershell, CMD etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Azure Portal?

Azure Portal increases the security of employee logins by forcing Multi-Factor Authentication through a secondary device. Obviously, this circumvents a (thieving) person's ability to steal just one device and hack in. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Azure Portal?

I dislike that Azure Portal requires the use of a personal device. For large corporate companies, it's impractical to imagine that the IT department is supplying every employee with a personal device just so that they can log into laptops and/or PC's. Instead, Microsoft has built this entire portal based on the assumption that employees have smart devices and are willing to use them to log into company devices. I don't think it's very nice and I dislike that Microsoft did not enable any other way to login. Many times I don't log in to the Portal until I need to use a certain application that requires it, because I am not on my personal device during work so it's not easily accessible for log-in purposes. I do use a backup phone to support this requirement, so sometimes I don't even have it charged. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Azure Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

The key problem is company network and IP security. It is a very simple problem statement. I personally have not realized any benefits but I'm sure that my company did an ROI statement that proves significant risk reduction. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Azure Portal?

Azure Portal offers various useful features such as:

- GUI is user friendly

- Displays various metrics to track the usage of various Azure Services

- Offers inbuilt cloud shell using which you can perform various Azure CLI operations

- Azure Portal to manage different services is free of cost Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Azure Portal?

The following are the few features which I don't like about Azure Portal:

- Doesn't offer metrics to track the usage of GPU based resources

- Subscription Management could be complex for beginners Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Azure Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

Azure Portal is one of the available options to create, manage & delete the Azure Services that you plan to use. The user interface of Azure Portal is built keeping the ease of use in mind so that any new user of Azure can access it hassle free. I primarily depend on Azure Portal to provision the services which are used by our product, I also find various metrics offered by it to be useful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Azure Portal?

I think the navigation blade system is easily my favorite feature. I like how it allows me to navigate through all the options consistently across Azure services. I don't feel like I have to learn a new system every time I try out a new part of Azure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Azure Portal?

Sometimes the system is a bit slow to respond. But that makes sense as you have to wait for the resources to deploy. To be honest not sure anything could be faster. I also don't like the error messages sometimes. They could be clearer for sure. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Azure Portal:

Leverage the documentation at docs.microsoft.com on how to walk through creation of resources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Azure Portal solving and how is that benefiting you?

The problems that I solve are creating resources in Azure that help me deploy web applications, server-less applications, and microservices. I love the PaaS offering that Azure offers through the Portal. Deployment slots, Troubleshooting issues, scalability, cost control and reporting, all of them are at my finger tips. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
