Top Rated Avid Pro Tools Alternatives

Pro Tools is my go-to digital audio workstation (DAW) for mixing and editing, as I really enjoy how customisable the interface and controls can be; such that preferred keyboard shortcuts can be assigned to different functions. In addition to this, being able to have different side-panels open based on your workflow preferences is a bonus.
I additionally find that Pro Tools' layout very much helps with my workflow when mixing audio, whether that be for music or film. When demonstrating Pro Tools in a teaching environment, the channel strips are linear and easy to follow, and this remains true when mixing large sessions which is fantastic. Pro Tools requires a monthly or yearly subscription in order to consistently keep the most up-to-date version. There is a one-time payment option, although, this is for a perpetual license that only allows for the user to update to the next software version a certain number of times. Once these updates have been applied, the user only gets to keep the last version they updated unless they should like to repurchase or subscribe to a new license. Takes some practice, but the software is like second nature once you get all the ins and outs of how to do different effects and transitions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Tends to crash or freeze on recent computers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Avid Pro Tools is amazing and the best thing about it is its powerful interface which allows the user to surgically manipulate audio to how ever they please. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only thing I dislike about it is that it is expensive to purchase/subscribe to for a software that crashes a lot. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I use ProTools every day. It's a great audio application. I use it to mix TV shows and promos. It's great for sound design and also for cleaning up dialogue. Really there's nothing to say negatively about this product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't feel there are many downsides to ProTools. Possibly the price but I feel like it's worth it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The thing that I like the most about pro tools is that it is very flexible, it can be used for recording, mixing, mastering, production. It also is very similar to how analog consoles work. That really helps with understand of routing in an actual studio console. Plus its the industry standard so its used everywhere. Pro tools offers a lot of useful editing shortcuts that help you while podcast editing, sync dubbing, sound design etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although music production can be done in Pro tools, its a bit unfriendly with the GUI and stock instruments specifically for music production. If that can be added Pro tools will be unbeatable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Avid Pro Tools is an advanced and powerful music composition facilities. One of the most impressive aspects of it is its production versatility-It fully supports instrumental and vocal production which in my opinion is highly essential for productivity.
It is supported on most operating systems and it's available in more than 5 llanguages. I think it's great for anyone looking for a DAW that supports complex music production( rock, rock'n' roll and more).
Works very well on the mobile app too. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some of the major downsides of Avid Pro Tools are:
-It's not very engaging-meaning that, I don't actually find the UI entertaining and hence, no fun at all.
-It only offers recurring subscription options which are way more costly & stressful than similar alternatives which don't even favor some of us.
-A few other support services come at extra cost and are even limited.
-The DAW itself doesn't work well with most third-party plugins that I've tested. It kept me less productive because there are plugins that I'm addicted to working with on every single piece.
-In terms of ease of use, I think pro tools is not very well at it. It's not for beginners ( maybe others, but not me).
-Additional plugins come at extra cost( even after subscription) and they are exorbitant. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The best thing about Avid Pro tools is the ability to have control on every little aspect of your project. With a user friendly experience, you can edit your audio in a very professional and easy way. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is only one thing that i dislike about avid pro tool for which is the old school interface and the lack of updates, it would be cool if they could add some Ai tools Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Pro Tools is infinitely flexible in all of the ways that post-production sound craftspersons require. There isn't a situation where I need to "do something" or "create something" as part of a deliverables package and Pro Tools can't make it happen in a clean and efficient manner. I often find myself needing to buss or route something and end up saying "I love Pro Tools" because my needs are instantly met. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is expensive, no question. But I feel the value is there for the money. The company is slow to respond to user requests but when new features are implemented they are well-done. It is a complex program, too, so the learning curve for new editors / mixers is a bit steep. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the workflow and design of Avid. Over the years they have made upgrades to benefit the users and those in the music industry. I appreciate the bouncing features, which save a lot of time! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It would have to be the past versions that did not allow you to bounce in play after you mixed a song. That would waste a lot of time and cause much friction in a session. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Protools is Complete music composing solution which has a professional touch & quality,
I can record songs, compose music, mix & master , edit the music without any hassle with bets quality ever.
It's interphase is also easy to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is good for making music, but not better for song recording, some times I observe latency in recordings which can be maintened by coordinating with audio interphase otherwise it is good. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) is a leader in the music production industry, and it is not for less, its fluidity and multiple tools are great, latency is managed automatically, the effect and instrument plugins that it comes from the factory are of high quality I don't usually throw so many flowers at a show but the guys at avid have done a great job. I don't like the fact that there is no support for vst instruments and effects natively, since not all plugins on the market are in the aax format, which is the only one currently supported by pro tools. In addition, the audio engine sometimes crashes when editing audio clips or using beat detective. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
