It is easy to learn and begin to use. However with the later updates, it becomes increasingly more difficult to use because you have to work around issues with the web browser actions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not like that it does not have a cloud hosting option. It would be fantastic to give people that option if they were to want that. Also, cloud hosting makes it really easy to test out all the features. Having self-service trials on a cloud hosted version would be a lot easier for people to try it out and see how it works.
The big thing lately for us is that Automate is constantly breaking current functionality when it comes to the web browser actions. If you are not using these, you will likely love the product.. But web browser actions doing what you tell them to do is critical for our business use case
Support seemed great at first, but that was due to working with some bad vendors in the past. Now that I have taken a deep dive into support, I've learned that the customer facing support team is fantastic, but nothing seems to happen once things get escalated in terms of the bugs I'm finding. They'll make a hotfix that fixes the one singular issue that I point out, however it may or may not make it into the next release. At one point they made a hotfix and said that it was just for our company's use with the way we use Automate, even though this was in fact was a change they made that broke existing functionality of the web browser actions..
I've also accidentally been tagged in email threads for similar escalated support issues with other companies by senior staff.
Again, first line support has been great, but once a ticket gets escalated and deep in the weeds, there's not been much help other than hotfixes that do not resolve the root issue of releasing changes without properly testing that they do not break existing functionality.
Because of these issues, we have attempted to upgrade from 11.6 to 11.7 (which horribly failed and 11.7 subsequently got pulled and re-released). Then we were testing 22.1 which also got re-released as 22.1.1. Initially we could not upgrade to 22.1.1, but after rebuilding one of our big processes entirely, we were able to get it to work with 22.1.1 and work around the issues that this update has with performance on the execution server.
23.1 was a dumpster fire of broken web browser actions that I very quickly identified bugs on using public-facing websites. 24.1 fixed a few of those, but left some bugs still standing, and broke some new things with web browser actions.
In short, I've been working with Autoamte on escalated tickets for a couple years now. Half of our environment is on 22.1.1 and the other half is on 11.6 Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I had been develop RPA bots using Automate for the last 17 years (since 2007). I developed literally more than 1k RPA Bots with Automate for banks companies (dozens), pharma companies, etc.I started using Automate6 and with the time I migrated to BPA 7, 8.. and now is Automate 2023.
Many things have changed and believe me a lot for better since Automate6. It´s awesome RPA tool and I'm grate of the work that I made with our customers with this software and my customers are happy with what we did and the capacities of Automate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
But, it´s sad to say that have some critical points that affect negatively the presentation of Automate. It´s practically impossible for potential customers get a trial version of this tool, and because that other tools (and believe me I needed to test a lot of RPA tools UiPath, AutomationAnywhere, Britty, Kofax, Power Automate, Blue Prism, Python, etc) are more accessible for tests and for consequence it´s eligible as main choice of the customers.Everybody in this market that I talk have the impression that Fortra keep all the focus on their Security Tools and Automate is only one more accessory to make volume to show for the companies. I read a lot about the "big three" in the RPA space. I just want everyone one to know, that there is actually the "big four" - and Automate by Fortra is in that category.
Automate is extremely easy to use. The interface is very intuitive and the software has so many actions. It really is: drag, drop, configure, automate! It also provide the ability to use custom code if needed.
The support is by far, the best I have dealt with and the price point beats its competition by a lot.
I've used Automate in 2 different hospitals now. In both cases, it handled all of our automation needs.
I highly recommend Automate by Fortra for enterprise RPA. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have no dislikes. Any issues are resolved. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We been running our server automations with Automate solution for more than 10 years and it's been very stable all this time. Easy to use and build simple scheduled tasks, automations of much higher complexity are possible to set up but there is a learning curve. Very responsive and helpful Customer support. Not much to dislike, maybe just a learning curve for building more elaborate setups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We are able to run printing processes 24/7 without the need of staff to be present, which is a huge advantage and edge for us and production. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing. We find it a great solution for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have been using Automate for many years and it was time to upgrade due to server upgrade. It was a simple process to migrate from Automate BPA10 to Automate Plus 2023. We got very good help from Fortra's technical consultant. I would certainly recommend drawing up an agreement on technical support when doing a migration of this magnitude. It will make migration faster and significantly easier. After migration, Automate 2023 has behaved both better and more stable than the previous version. We have significantly fewer incidents after upgrading, which means less monitoring and more efficiency in the organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have not experienced anything particularly negative about Automate Plus Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The ability to automate a redundant task creates major efficiencies. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only dislike I have encountered is having to wait on support to respond to an incident. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Fotra Automate product is very easy to use, with plenty of low code configuration options available. If you can document the task, you can build the automation within Automate. Straightforward implementation. We have developed 100's of automations within Fortra Automate within the first few years of usage. Very cost effective for the value you can gain from the automatiosn. The upgrade process is klunky and basically requires you to uninstall and reinstall - could be improved Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
