Autodesk viewer is great in its features for team management and collaboration, ease of sharing and viewing, and support of a wide range of formats and mobile friendly. It is an excellent addition for Autodesk ecosystem users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although it has no disadvantages, the inability to edit and modify and limited file size limits its uses from being a one-stop solution, it solves this with a wide gamut of integration functionalities for editing and designing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Compatibility: My favorite feature of the viewer is that it's compatible with major other dwg formats such as DWG, DWF, RVT & IPT, in total making it more versatile.
2. Collaboration: I along with my team can collaborate together on this platform, we can comment on & mark up the designs.
3. Mobile Access: I can use it while travelling or I'm on the go to somewhere
4. Ease of Use: Its simple to use without much of complcations making it intutive to navigate. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Limited Editing: It has limited editing capabilities, one cannot make much changes using the viewer.
2. Lagging Issues: Especially working with larger & complex files the software sometimes tends to crash.
3. Compatibility: It isn't compatible with non-Autodesk design files making my source files limiited. It would be a huge add on if one can view files from other sources. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As an architect, I often need to share my designs with clients, contractors, and other team members. Autodesk Viewer has been a valuable tool for me in this regard. The viewer is easy to use and provides an intuitive interface for navigating 2D and 3D designs. Upload your design files in various formats, and our viewers will render them quickly and accurately so you can share your designs without needing special software.
One of the great features of Autodesk Viewer is its collaboration tools. Let team members view their designs, leave comments, and mark up designs directly in the viewer. This streamlined communication and made it easier to change designs if necessary. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It doesn't offer all the capabilities of dedicated software. For example, you cannot edit or modify designs directly in the viewer, and some features of the original design software may not be fully supported.
Zoom and pan functionalities are pathetic.
It's hard for a new person to understand the tool. The learning curve is high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Keep it bookmarked - great compatibility with several filetypes, minimum lag issues. Can take screenshots and it is easy to print view. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Options to edit files are very slim, I belive it is supposed to be a "Viewer" after all. At least saving types of views on presentation would have been a win. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

while Autodesk viewer is highly regarded for its functionality and features, some limitations are:-
1. Limited Editing capabilities.
2. Internet dependency.
3. Performance issue with large files.
4. Compatibility issue with older browsers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like the flexibility of the product. I'm building a web app that integrates Autodesk Viewer, and it's been amazing. I'm moving from a heavily rooted environment to desktop machines and being mobile-unfriendly into the web, which has plenty of benefits. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think that documentation could be more elaborate. I have to dig in to get some specific data. Some components are not described at all which can cause problems and take additional time for debugging. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't view very intricate designs with this viewer, but being able to open and stl for 3D printing and viewing it is very nice. If someone is wanting me to make them something they found online I can show them what their design looks like from all aspects. Using fusion360 as my primary design tool also helps as the controls are similar to moving around. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There isn't much to dislike here. It's a simple viewer that is just that simple. Nothing overly complicated to learn especially if you've used some of their other products. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The most helpful thing about Autodesk Viewer is its accessibility for Site Engineers like me. Given that this software's functionality exceeds expectations, its performance is still top-notch, for even large CAD files are accessible. The user interface is spotless and user-friendly, even for beginners. The best part is that the application does not consume much storage space while providing exceptional features rivaling AUTOCAD Autodesk. On the collaboration portion, it is helpful that multiple users have access to designs simultaneously real-time. This allows my team to engage actively through comments and markups on numerous drawings shared via this application. Implementation of the survey onsite has been more precise through using Autodesk Viewer as our primary support mechanism. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability of Autodesk Viewer to provide a simple user interface has its drawbacks. Because of the limited file size of the application, its features and capabilities are also limited to that of a viewer only. The processing time of opening large files is also a disadvantage due to its limited functionality. Incorporating markups and comments is also limited up to some extent only for the application prioritizes viewing of DWG and RVT files only. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It allows you to view all your 3d models in any device and without any subscriptions, you don't need highend systems to operate it and it is user friendly also to easily navigate Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The way it shows the properties of model elements and it doesn't show schedules available in model files Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A problem sover if you have to work with different kinds of files and find it hard to navigate what to open that with (given that you don't have the source software, i.e., you don't deal directly with production). Leaving remarks and feedbacks is super easy. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
That there's an expiration date of files and that it lags sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
