Our team uses AuditBoard every day to execute our control testing activities, store and maintain our RCM, and facilitate document requests that can be utilized by both internal and external audit teams.
One of the best things about AuditBoard is the customization coupled with the timely customer support to help your team achieve their objectives; you can configure the module to meet your teams' needs. It's also very intuitive and apparent it was created by auditors for auditors. If you make the most of your implementation phase, you should be well on your way as an audit team to have a centralized location for risks, controls, tests, requests, issues, action plans, etc.
AuditBoard also holds webinars with their customers regularly to keep up with topics important to the audit/advisory space as well as a sort of "office hours" to help users understand how to make their features work for them. Can't forget the Help Center that has what seems like an endless database of articles, templates, FAQ's, and even questions and ideas from the community. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The permissions matrix is a little complex from an administrator standpoint - need to make sure you spend the time understanding teams versus roles and how to customize them accordingly. This goes back to making the most of your implementation phase.
Also there is almost always a new feature being released or enhanced. At times (like when enhancements just show up rather than needing to be enabled) features can confuse users or cause them maybe to use functions when not desired. This should be minimized be having an active administrator. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how easy AuditBoard makes it to document and test SOX controls. Once you learn the system, linking information is simple and intuitive. The platform also offers a vast library of resources, including trainings, guides, and recorded learning sessions, making it easy to find answers or get closer to a solution with a little research.
What truly stands out, though, is the community AuditBoard has built. The platform fosters knowledge-sharing on a level I’ve never experienced before—connecting me with auditors across the globe to troubleshoot solutions and discuss best practices. I’ve interacted with and learned from more auditors through AuditBoard than I ever could have through my local CPA chapter, which speaks volumes about its reach and impact.
I also like the fact so many of AuditBoard's employees come from the audit industry. They know what I am looking for or to do, and they actually come out with a lot of enhancements based on their experiences auditing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
AuditBoard does not do the best with letting clients know about issues happening within their system that are impacting users and sometimes we only find out after we submit a service desk ticket in. Examples include times when we could not download our testing documents and this was a known issue affecting multiple customers, yet we did not learn that this issue was being worked on until after a ticket was submitted. Customer support does do well with working with you once a ticket is submitted which is a positive, I just think they could be more proactive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I think my favorite thing about Auditboard is the ability to incorporate just about any file format - whether that be excel spreadsheet, word document, pdf, outlook file, powerpoint slide, etc! Not only can you incorporate almost any file format, but you can open it for editing and when you're done, you can save it and it updates the document to include the changes that were made. Having a centralized one-stop shop for an audit department is a must, and auditoard exceeds all other competition! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price. With all the included features, a higher price is to be expected. Nonetheless, it's worth every penny! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how easy AuditBoard is to use. We switched from Teammate that was very basic and crashed all the time so we would always lose work. That doesn't happen in AuditBoard and is so user friendly. Very intuitive with their features and we get great support for customizations. It is easy to onboard new employees because of how intuitive the software is to use, employees jump right in after a short tutorial. I love the dashboard capabilities which are easy to customize also. These are so helpful for the management team as this is where the data and analytics can really help change the way we work. Great software all around! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Really nothing from my perspective but maybe from my company's perspective, the cost! It is more expensive than other solutions but guess you get what you pay for! :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
AuditBoard's SOXHUB module is really where the tool excels. It gave businesses the ability to generate a living and always changing risk & controls matrix. It is very straightforward and user friendly for new users.
Additionally, they continue to innovate with new features based on their customer's feedback often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While AuditBoard is fairly flexible, there are some limitations like its control hiearchy. Entity -> Process -> Subprocess really only allows you L2 to L3 process levels and you may not create more process levels than that.
I wish the SOX risk assessment feature was more robust and allowed for more streamlined mapping of control setup and chart of accounts. So currently, we still use Excel to do our scoping. Also, if you have mulitple ERPs with various charts of accounts, this gets more complex and will take hard work to map everything out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Have you ever heard an auditee being pleased with being audited? Ours are and mostly because we have made it super easy for them to understand their controls and engage them in the overall process through the most user-friendly auditing platform, AuditBoard. We just recently implemented and the response has been very positive among the user community. We have one single hub for all risks and controls. The workflow capability makes it well-integrated where the auditees can go to their dashboards and make a one-stop shop for all things risks and controls. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I am a CPA so cost is always an area that can be improved. We would like it to be less costly so that it becomes a no-brainer for all audit organizations. We had to build a business case and it was a hard sell because of its price so hopefully as they dominate the market, they can lower their cost and it will be a win-win. I like having a centralized location and tracking tool for all of our audit engagements to be accessed every day. It is realatively easy for users to get notified. Customer support has been great in helping us identify solutions. AuditBoard Sync integrates with Microsoft Office fairly well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't like the fact that Excel links do not update and the reporting features are a bit clunky. Our implementer did not understand auditing or our needs and we had to undo everything she had done and start over on our own. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like that AuditBoard is very intuitive to use. It is flexible in terms of meeting the needs of our audit process, but is clearly built by a team with a strong understanding of auditing. We only use a couple of modules, but the success with those has lead to discussion about how the broader tool can be used. Their support has been very responsive and helpful with our needs as we work to get the most out of the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As with any newer tool, some of the kinks get worked out in real time. There have been a few updates pushed out that have changed some of the dashboards utilized. The communication was a little unclear, but we've been able to respond to the change. Additionally, the tiered pay structure limits what you have access to, so if cost is prohibitive, you may not get the full capabilities of the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Being able to automate day-to-day Internal Audit processes and maintaing track of status with various reports and dashboards. Having everything related to SOX and ERM all stored in a central repository. Was easy setting up AB with the implmentation team with their assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Haven't had any dislikes yet, everything is very customizeable when it comes to permissions, so can be a bit tough to figure out at first. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
