I like that AuditBoard is cloud based, easily accessible, does a good job of allowing document storage and collaboration with other team members, captures step signoffs in an easy way, organizes Management Action Plans in a way that we can share with the client. The level of administrating the system: adding fields, data, populating steps, all the required fields to be completed to enable dashboards and archiving. It's also tedious to sign off on steps, add documents, and populate issues and Management Action Plans. Sync and editing documents online sometimes get lost. Finally, when comparing our efficiency to produce work before we had AuditBoard to after we got the tool, I think we were faster and more efficient to produce high quality audits before we started using AB. I primarily use AuditBoard for their OpsAudits and Workstream. It's nice at how well they align together, creating one convient place to perform audit work. It's one of the first programs that I open on a daily basis and use throughout the day. AuditBoard continues to make updates to enhace the user experiance. The program seems intuitive for management outside of the Internal Audit department. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly nothing comes to mind. Sometimes I wish we could change a workstep to 'Almost Completed' to indicate that majority of the work is completed besides potentially an outstanding question before it can be submitted. It would provide an easier 'at-a-glance' view of the project progress. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how easy AuditBoard makes it to document and test SOX controls. Once you learn the system, linking information is simple and intuitive. The platform also offers a vast library of resources, including trainings, guides, and recorded learning sessions, making it easy to find answers or get closer to a solution with a little research.
What truly stands out, though, is the community AuditBoard has built. The platform fosters knowledge-sharing on a level I’ve never experienced before—connecting me with auditors across the globe to troubleshoot solutions and discuss best practices. I’ve interacted with and learned from more auditors through AuditBoard than I ever could have through my local CPA chapter, which speaks volumes about its reach and impact.
I also like the fact so many of AuditBoard's employees come from the audit industry. They know what I am looking for or to do, and they actually come out with a lot of enhancements based on their experiences auditing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
AuditBoard does not do the best with letting clients know about issues happening within their system that are impacting users and sometimes we only find out after we submit a service desk ticket in. Examples include times when we could not download our testing documents and this was a known issue affecting multiple customers, yet we did not learn that this issue was being worked on until after a ticket was submitted. Customer support does do well with working with you once a ticket is submitted which is a positive, I just think they could be more proactive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I think my favorite thing about Auditboard is the ability to incorporate just about any file format - whether that be excel spreadsheet, word document, pdf, outlook file, powerpoint slide, etc! Not only can you incorporate almost any file format, but you can open it for editing and when you're done, you can save it and it updates the document to include the changes that were made. Having a centralized one-stop shop for an audit department is a must, and auditoard exceeds all other competition! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The price. With all the included features, a higher price is to be expected. Nonetheless, it's worth every penny! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
AuditBoard's SOXHUB module is really where the tool excels. It gave businesses the ability to generate a living and always changing risk & controls matrix. It is very straightforward and user friendly for new users.
Additionally, they continue to innovate with new features based on their customer's feedback often. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
While AuditBoard is fairly flexible, there are some limitations like its control hiearchy. Entity -> Process -> Subprocess really only allows you L2 to L3 process levels and you may not create more process levels than that.
I wish the SOX risk assessment feature was more robust and allowed for more streamlined mapping of control setup and chart of accounts. So currently, we still use Excel to do our scoping. Also, if you have mulitple ERPs with various charts of accounts, this gets more complex and will take hard work to map everything out. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The ability to have remediation reminders go out automatically to stakeholders.
The interface is user friendly. Very rarely does a stakeholder need help setting up or using the software.
Can handle being used for daily work in my department. All our projects are contained in one easy to navigate place. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Inability to better organize the documents uploaded to workstream projects. Acts more as a document repository rather than a useful storage place for them.
Sometimes updates and new features are rolled out that are not fully fleshed out. Leaving more to be desired (e.g. the risk assessment contained within OpsAudit). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
AuditBoard helps our audit function in that it keeps us organized and I appreicate that most items (controls, issues, narratives, policies, etc.) link to oneanother so that fewer things need updating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having to type the capital B in the middle.
Actually, there are a number of features that I don't like, but have brought up to the community and made suggestions for improvements. However, the community suggestion list shows that less than 1% of suggestions are taken, including small quality of life items.
The biggest drawback from my perspective is that there still isn't a functioinal method of performing attribute testing within the program - this has been in the works at AuditBoard for years now, but no updates have been made after a very poor initial process.
Reports and advanced features, such as API Dashboards are also terrible. I've had meetings for almost a year with AB tech team and have yet to get it functioning. I've even suggested they update their reports and was litterally told they won't be doing that. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Automated evidence collection, scheduled reminders for stakeholders, ability to customize permissions, ABI dashboards, and file storage. They offer extensive training, customer support, and a supportive community. The system is fairly intuitive, but it's worth extra time at the beginning to set up your implementation exactly how you'd like it. Over the past 12-18 months, we've been expanding our inventory of controls and integrating AuditBoard with other risk management processes. So far, the capabilities of AuditBoard have been receieved positively across the company. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We rely heavily on WorkStream for distributed controllership and quarterly testing. The available ABI dashboards have some limitations when comparing different WorkStream projects to each other. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love how easy AuditBoard is to use. We switched from Teammate that was very basic and crashed all the time so we would always lose work. That doesn't happen in AuditBoard and is so user friendly. Very intuitive with their features and we get great support for customizations. It is easy to onboard new employees because of how intuitive the software is to use, employees jump right in after a short tutorial. I love the dashboard capabilities which are easy to customize also. These are so helpful for the management team as this is where the data and analytics can really help change the way we work. Great software all around! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Really nothing from my perspective but maybe from my company's perspective, the cost! It is more expensive than other solutions but guess you get what you pay for! :) Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
