Aspen HYSYS is a versatile process simulator. You can simulate any chemical process with different cases. It has a wide range of thermodynamic packages and compounds are available for different needs. The specialized processes like amine, HF, and hydrogen correction can be embedded in the process to get more accurate results. Different types of optimization, sensitivity analysis, Thermophysical data, and curves can be obtained for a wide range of process parameters. Recycle option is there which is not available in aspen plus. Unit operations for refineries are available in HYSYS. Crude assay and petroleum characteristics are more relevant than other simulators. Energy optimization, capital cost estimators, and Pinch analysis can be done with just one click. The help menu is very useful to get the theory behind various options available. The user interface and selection of thermodynamic packages are very confusing. One needs to be an expert in thermodynamics before doing any modification. Due to it's simple layout and lots of helping features I was able to make a process flow diagram easily ,to do graphs and to go for analysis of designs and equipment.
