What do you like best about Appriver?

Absolutely nothing; there was nothing about the spam filtering I found to be remotely likable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appriver?

I didn't set it up all I know is it failed to filter out even the most basic of malicious messages even with the "paranoia settings" at max. Pretty much everything about it, from the interface to the quality of "protection," this product sucks! There is nothing more I can really say about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Appriver:

Find another product to use. This product does nothing actually to protect against malicious actors. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

This was a spam filtering solution in place when I came onboard Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appriver?

I don’t like the fact that some countries that have been specifically blocked still show up in the quarantine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have cut out a lot of spam, as almost 90% of our messages are now being blocked due to the fact that they are junk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Appriver?

Catches most spam email! For us, that's hundreds of emails per day! It quarantines them but you have to go check the quarantine and release actual emails from legit senders! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appriver?

The need to manually check 100's of emails per day to find the few legit ones that needed to make it through to a user! It is a time consuming process you have to do daily! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

Preventing malware and spam emails from hitting my users inboxes where they could potentially click on the email and infect their computer and then our network! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Appriver?

Appriver has been a "god-sent" to help us manage the shear number of phishing emails and junk mail that comes through our organizations. They allow users to whitelist any good emails they might want to release. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appriver?

AppRiver at times can be hard to setup in order to allow the mail to flow via MX records and such. After we moved to AppRiver, our emails started to get flagged as unknown via other companies security solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

We were overwhelmed with a number of emails being flagged as junk, phishing, and malware. We did have the resources to spend hours everyday shifting through emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Appriver?

So far, there isn't anything that I like at all Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appriver?

The customer service is horrible. Not to mention the engineer trying to help you set up. No phone call, just emails with instructions for an IT person expecting you to understand them. Called and got such a bad connection and ask them to call back, but no call back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Appriver:

Sales was slick, but support is lacking Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

I'm Required to have them encrypt my emails, but the setup process has been difficult. There is absolutely no benefit to me to have them encrypt my already encrypted emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Appriver?

Control and Support ease of use is the my favorite part.. No one wants to spend a lot of time attempting to setup or maintain compliance, this is a one shot unit- Sign up, point your MX records- and the defaults are pretty darn good- enhance it more with personal weights on filtering with malware, spam, phishing and it's even better. I have to hardly get on to make adjustments Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appriver?

Hit or Miss, sometimes a little spam comes through- I wish Appriver had one some sort of end-user training tutorial packaged within, to send a fake phish, and send them to the link for compliance training, others have started to do this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Appriver:

If simplicity and ease of use is necessary: Take a look at Appriver. They do have a decent sales staff and a very reasonable support staff. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

Phishing, Spam, and Malware attempts via Email transactions, especially since our Mail Server is a legacy unit- and not O365. Their solution is one of few cloud-based units still supporting legacy mail systems. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Appriver?

I love that the interface is pretty easy to navigate, and the appearance is nice. I have always found the customer service team to be very helpful and prompt. The email continuity feature has been a life saver when our in house mail server has any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appriver?

I would really like if the quarantine was easier to search and manage. I also would like to be able to preview emails before releasing them, almost like a test bench environment like barracuda has. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

Email continuity, blocking emails based on attachments. I like that users are notified when an email is blocked and they can request it to be released. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Appriver?

The customer service is the best; there is no automated attendant on the calls. The products are also excellent, and the associates know its business backwards and forwards. The associates always seem to be pleased you are calling – they are ready and willing to help. You cannot call Microsoft anymore, but you can always reach AppRiver. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appriver?

I do not have any particular dislikes. I have found that my expectations have been exceeded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Appriver:

Try AppRiver; I know you will be satisfied! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about Appriver?

Has a very good user interface. A good middle of road SPAM filter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appriver?

Cannot sandbox suspicious emails. Cannot send a suspicious email over to IT to review, it's either release or not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Appriver:

Good solid product. There are other more expensive options that offer more, but you pay more. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

The obvious is filtering emails for SPAM and Malware. They also now offer link protection. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Appriver?

Decent price I guess. Nothing particularly great about them. The web interface, the filtering, the features, everything is just average. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Appriver?

Filtering is just OK. Not fantastic. Lot's of phishing stuff gets through. We used to be with MX Logic and they were also. But they sold to McAfee who then sold to Intel, who then shut them down? Or at least told us we had to leave. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Recommendations to others considering Appriver:

Just OK. I would go elsewhere. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What problems is Appriver solving and how is that benefiting you?

It does SPAM and malware filtering. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
