Top Rated Appriver Alternatives
Absolutely nothing; there was nothing about the spam filtering I found to be remotely likable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I didn't set it up all I know is it failed to filter out even the most basic of malicious messages even with the "paranoia settings" at max. Pretty much everything about it, from the interface to the quality of "protection," this product sucks! There is nothing more I can really say about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Appriver was so easy to implement, the support is really good. The alerting system is great. I use the product maybe every other day and never had any huge headaches with it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
They recently made a huge change to the UI but once I got used to it, it was fine. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AppRiver does a great job of blocking spam from ever hitting our mail server. It currently blocks about 84% of the messages that we receive, as they are junk. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The friendly interface and the automatic reports sent to users are both wonderful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Catches most spam email! For us, that's hundreds of emails per day! It quarantines them but you have to go check the quarantine and release actual emails from legit senders! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The need to manually check 100's of emails per day to find the few legit ones that needed to make it through to a user! It is a time consuming process you have to do daily! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Appriver has been a "god-sent" to help us manage the shear number of phishing emails and junk mail that comes through our organizations. They allow users to whitelist any good emails they might want to release. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
AppRiver at times can be hard to setup in order to allow the mail to flow via MX records and such. After we moved to AppRiver, our emails started to get flagged as unknown via other companies security solutions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
So far, there isn't anything that I like at all Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The customer service is horrible. Not to mention the engineer trying to help you set up. No phone call, just emails with instructions for an IT person expecting you to understand them. Called and got such a bad connection and ask them to call back, but no call back. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Control and Support ease of use is the my favorite part.. No one wants to spend a lot of time attempting to setup or maintain compliance, this is a one shot unit- Sign up, point your MX records- and the defaults are pretty darn good- enhance it more with personal weights on filtering with malware, spam, phishing and it's even better. I have to hardly get on to make adjustments Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Hit or Miss, sometimes a little spam comes through- I wish Appriver had one some sort of end-user training tutorial packaged within, to send a fake phish, and send them to the link for compliance training, others have started to do this. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love that the interface is pretty easy to navigate, and the appearance is nice. I have always found the customer service team to be very helpful and prompt. The email continuity feature has been a life saver when our in house mail server has any issues. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I would really like if the quarantine was easier to search and manage. I also would like to be able to preview emails before releasing them, almost like a test bench environment like barracuda has. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The customer service is the best; there is no automated attendant on the calls. The products are also excellent, and the associates know its business backwards and forwards. The associates always seem to be pleased you are calling – they are ready and willing to help. You cannot call Microsoft anymore, but you can always reach AppRiver. I do not have any particular dislikes. I have found that my expectations have been exceeded. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Has a very good user interface. A good middle of road SPAM filter. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Cannot sandbox suspicious emails. Cannot send a suspicious email over to IT to review, it's either release or not. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Decent price I guess. Nothing particularly great about them. The web interface, the filtering, the features, everything is just average. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Filtering is just OK. Not fantastic. Lot's of phishing stuff gets through. We used to be with MX Logic and they were also. But they sold to McAfee who then sold to Intel, who then shut them down? Or at least told us we had to leave. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
