The dashboarding and chart creation is great tool. They have a lot of variety of charts available.
The dashboards can be shared easily with the peer and proper access control to each chart and dashboard is available. This is not a feature available with other open source tools and it is a great form of analysis and data exposure control
The administration of the tool for Lehman has been designed really well. Also the chart that are created all from the chat are made possible and a lot of customizations are been made that are out of the box. Chat detailing and chat customizations do they require some handholding and learning curve once you are used to then a of fairly easy to construct and a lot of variation is possible based on different business needs and requirement of different teams. You can in fact create custom queries and create charts on these custom queries to which is a feature that is not very smooth in many other open source software. The SQL editor snd custom query based visualization is a little suboptimal. The query maker has no station on the possible syntax for SQL also so even for the charts that are selected the column suggestions are are a little slow. The query does not load asynchronously where in first few results could be shown up front and then the query might run in the background today is the time out of the super set that has been set on the complete query in case you're trying to download use bundle of data han is very suboptimal and a lot of time the query actually breaks.
The tool requires a lot of UC update. The UX is very basic and for non tech can get a little overwhelmingly as sum of features are are looking to be very technical in nature. Also even in charts and dashboard the filtering process is not designed in the best way possible. today the chart filtering is a product that has been cracked very well in a lot of other products as well. The initial setup and configuration of Apache Superset might be difficult, especially for those without a strong technical experience. Configuring permissions and setting up links to multiple data sources can take some time and possibly be complex. The UI/UX for the website itself could have been better. For example, the heading could have been in bold which would guide the user to navigate to his required page easily. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I like how easy it is to self-serve queries for those who are not as SQL literate (like me!). I am able to independently create tables to show what I need without pulling in other team members. Results are also easy to review. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I wish it was easier to see what permissions I have in a dashboard (viewer, editor, etc). I was hoping to edit the description of a dashboard (text book with placeholder headers) but I am unable to make the edit nor see who is the owner in order to reach out to them to make the edits. I feel like it is straight forward to use, but I think some of my coworkers would have appreciated some more tutorial videos available, but there are those available on YouTube, so it's not like the team went without! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
