before the log4j, I had to implement file management or console output for logs. Spend lots of time to trace some logs. After logj4, it is just adding to the code and send to the log4j. tracing and managing is super easy Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Async logging is my favorite. Logs means apache log4j. It has numerous features which makes developer life easy. The custom logging levels and thread based logging is a nice features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you like best about Apache log4j?

It is thread safe , logging flow can be set at runtime using a configuration file, the format of the log output can be easily changed etc .... Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

simple configuration and a lot of possibilities if needed Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Apache log4j?

not faced anything I would dislike. However, once I found that when we applied regexp to parse specific logline we got performance reduction. I don't think that it's log4j problem but it was no other ways to do saw. We found a solution Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Easy maintenance

Fast debugging

Sometimes locks the log file so can't delete it.

If you can come up with a annotation based abstraction library like Slf4j, nothing like it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
