I use it on a Daily basis for our structure simulations. Its very easy to setup a loading condition and get results. The workflow is very smooth. In built-CAD integration through space claim makes it easy to make design changes and re-run.
Customer support is quick and minor problems are solved within a day only. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Simple feature of making your modal animation looping on endlessly in gif format is missing for so many years. It makes using the gif in presentations difficult to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Ansys AQWA allows users to perform comprehensive hydrodynamic analysis, including the computation of wave loads, wave kinematics, motions of floating structures, and response amplitude operators (RAOs). This enables engineers to understand the behavior of marine structures under various environmental conditions. It offers capabilities for coupled analysis between the hydrodynamic model and structural model, which is crucial for assessing the dynamic response and structural integrity of offshore platforms, ships, and other marine structures. Ansys AQWA provides tools for simulating mooring systems, including dynamic analysis of mooring lines, anchor behavior, and vessel motions in moored conditions. This is essential for designing and optimizing mooring configurations for offshore installations. With the growing interest in offshore wind energy, Ansys AQWA offers features tailored for simulating the behavior of floating wind turbines and associated support structures. This includes analysis of floating platform dynamics, wave-structure interaction, and fatigue assessment for wind turbine components. Ansys AQWA typically features an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI) that allows engineers to set up simulations, define parameters, visualize results, and interpret data effectively. This ease of use enhances productivity and enables engineers to focus more on the engineering aspects rather than struggling with software complexities.
Ansys AQWA is often part of the broader Ansys software ecosystem, which includes tools for structural analysis, fluid dynamics, and other engineering disciplines. Integration with other Ansys products allows for seamless data exchange and facilitates multidisciplinary simulations, offering a more comprehensive understanding of system behavior. Complex for new users, especially those who are not familiar with hydrodynamic analysis or finite element software in general. The learning curve may be steep, requiring significant time and effort to become proficient in using the software effectively.Performing detailed hydrodynamic simulations with Ansys AQWA can require significant computational resources, including high-performance computing (HPC) capabilities. Complex models with large numbers of elements or simulations involving multiple environmental conditions may require considerable computational time and memory. I'm using ANSYS mechanical package in many applications because of its very professional tools including automation ( paprametric study ) ones which saves lots of time and help me find the best design point.
Also topology study and generative design are great tool for 3D printing applications ,in my oppenion it is incomparable to any other software.
It helped me perform professional simulations as well including multibody dynamics and fluid structure interaction in parallel with ansys fluent.
Adding to this you can easily add new material data properties and flexibily define any type of load.
Also the customer support forum have many experts so you can easily find a solution to your problem or directly contact them.
Further more i didn't face any problem during installation, I really like the user interface as it is well organised to easy define a simulation and get results.
I usually integrate with other 3D design softwares like Solidworks, design modular, claimspace to import and export files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It consumes lots of computer ram, and sometimes the program run into a problem befor saving the project and in a matter of a second I loss my work، also the subscribtion fees may be modified. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Highly user friendly interface, very easy to simulate the analysis and implementation is also very easy. I frequently use this software for validating my designs and accuracy of the software is also very precise. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The software is providing complete package from design to simulation. But sometimes simulation time is quite more so the software crashes in between the testing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is a very user friendly CAE tool.. I can focus more on the analysis rather than the tool itself. It can be used for a wide range of FEA analysis from Linear Static structural to Non Linear Dynamic analysis, Thermal analysis and CFD. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1) There is no Anti Aliasing option available within the tool...This makes the models look too bad.
2) I cannot rotate the model with selected pivot point unlike NX CAD or CATIA. This makes it hard to work with large models. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Robustness, For non-linear problems especially with transient contact analysis, Ansys Mechanical needs minimum solver changes to detect moving contacting surfaces.
Ability to couple Ansys mechanical with other products such as Fluent, LS Dyna etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Although it has capability to couple Ansys mechanical with it's other productc but the procedure is bit lengthy and becomes further confusing to update variables or boundary conditions or initial conditions when any changes are made to either of the physics.
I found modeling of composite laminates is tedious with Ansys mechanical as well as computationally expensive. Since composite laminates can have hundreds of thin layers with different materials thus modeling itself is very tedious with and further each layer needs to solve for all degrees of freedom hence require very fine mesh making Ansys Mechanical further computationally expensive too. The Ansys mechanical is very usefull application to analyse the load like stress on joins. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The Software is heavy it's support only high specified machines not able to use in normal laptop having lesss ram Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I have used both ansys mechanical and fluent for structural and fluid flow analysis. It's a perfect software for structural analysis results are solved pretty fast in workstations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used both in ansys fluent and mechanical in Intel xeon workstation, eventhough it's a powerful workstation the solving of problems in fluent takes a good amount of time. I have seen problems solving very quickly in StarCCM+.We have to pay more to open more tabs in the software. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The software supports multiphysics simulations by integrating structural analysis with other physics, such as heat transfer, fluid flow, and electromagnetic fields. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
ANSYS Mechanical can be complex, especially for users who are new to finite element analysis (FEA) or have limited experience with simulation software. It requires a solid understanding of FEA principles, material modeling, and simulation techniques. The learning curve can be steep, and adequate training or expertise may be necessary to utilize the software effectively. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
