For example, being able to analyze the combination of information, such as whether users who took a specific action also took another specific action, has been very helpful. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The part where user distribution cannot be represented in a graph. For example, it would be useful to show the distribution of the number of people within different price ranges for the payment amount per user in December. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amplitude offers so many insights, so much data, if used correctly it simplifies hunting down specific user streams, and different interactions with our platform. What I appreciate the most is that I don't have to create charts literally from scratch, because there are too many moving parts which I might make a mistake with - if I create one good chart and cover all my bases, I can reuse, copy and readjust endlessly.
Most notably, to me, Amplitude is like a fun puzzle, I thoroughly enjoy experimenting and digging up new features and new insights into our users' engagement on our platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The more you learn about what Amplitude can do and how much you find out you'd have use for, the more often it happens that something is either too manual to achieve, or perhaps sometimes impossible with current features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
My favorite part of Amplitude is the ability to drill into specific user journeys or event streams and pinpoint what events the user triggered, when they did so, and how. It is also very easy to create new charts based on existing templates. The ability to easily rollup a series of charts into a dashboard is another big plus.
I use Amplitude every day in my role and often find myself creating new charts on the fly. Another awesome part about Amplitude is even if I don't save the chart it keeps a draft version of it in my recents feed so I can jump back into it if I want to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amplitude isn't always intuitive with how its various charts work. I find myself falling back to using just segmentation and sessions because I don't understand how the other types work and don't always have the time to train myself up. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The involvement of the full customer support & development team behind Amplitude ensures that your path to adoption and VALUE taken from its usage is successful in the short term. I honestly have yet to see a cloud-based solution/platform that dedicates itself to your succesful adoption like Amplitude. Webinars, office hour sessions, pre-recorded traininings, power user showcases, Slack community, wow, it provides a much needed degree of assurance for you to get your feet and hands deep into an innevitable complex solution.
It is easy to implement and integrates pretty easily with pretty much any data streams you may have in your company, allowing you to slice and dice your server-side and/or client-side data with ease. The reporting flexibility used to actually back-fire due to the inherent complexity in the subject matter of this CDP'ish product analytics platform, but with it's newly released UI [August, 2024], Amplitude places it's signature advanced product analytics tools on par with GA4 in regards to ease of use, without sacrificing its data manipulation and reporting strengths. The inherent complexity of the reporting capabilities may prove to be overwhelming at times, that said though, Amplitude has been making strong advancements in organizing their reporting structure and providing a more intuitive UI that allows the user to easily navigate thu pre-established reporting templates and still allow you to dig into the complex reports if you want/need to. The provide different type of representation options which help us lot to customize the data viewing and creating sense out of data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Bulky Interface, sometimes feel lost when we try to search for something specific Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Getting our team onto Amplitude has unlocked so much self-serve understanding about our product's usage from both product, marketing and content teams alike.
So much great insight about user behavior to glean from using the platform that we consider Amplitude like our 3rd business analyst on the team
Ongoing support is also amazing - recently attended their office hours where they answered my specific analytics question. They also have a fairly active Slack community
They are also constantly making us do less work, e.g. it automatically detects when new events come through and what app release it was from and annotates our timelines with this information. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Setup is key and making sure you have clean data
You get what you pay for - it's not cheap but worth the value Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
How quickly information can be interpreted and actioned due to how cleanly and clearly it is presented. Plus the ability to tweak and expand searches/requests speedily Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Some inconsistencies across projects where data can be mismatched Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Is its intuitive interface and powerful tools for tracking user behavior, especially the funnel and cohort analyses. It makes identifying trends and optimizing product performance seamless. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Is the initial learning curve, as some advanced features can feel overwhelming for new users. Additionally, the cost can be a challenge for smaller teams or startups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amplitude has great visualizations. It also allows for multi-dimensional analysis better than any other analytics platform I've used. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amplitude doesn't have much as far as prepackaged reporting. So if you're coming from a tool like GA4 be prepared to recreate all of the basic reporting that you get out of the box from GA4 or most other platforms. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amplitude says that it provides a straightforward setup for its all in 1 analytics platform, but in reality, it can be quite difficult.
They say that the integration process takes just two hours (that is assuming the data is perfectly organized) , but in reality, the process was frustrating and time-consuming.
The platform says that the tool will assist us with experiments but mostly it did not deliver good and actionable insights, especially in the product development process. Although yes it offers daily and weekly dashboards, the user experience was not great and the new design and UI were inefficient so we had a tough time making the most of it Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The platform restricted us to a rigid set of chart options, making it impossible to explore data freely. For example , if I wanted to visualize user counts based on certain key properties, I was limited to basic donut or bar charts and there was no flexibility to see trends over time, at least in not a way that was helpful.
Creating cohorts was another hassle. I had to navigate through multiple screens just to filter specific segments. Customer support is also lacking especially on the starter plans.
Overall as per me, Amplitude feels outdated and inefficient for the data needs of small businesses. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
