It can be a bit trickly to assign popups, it sometimes crashes a bit, and there are some restrictions that can be frustrating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I've been using Amplitude for 3 years now, both as a marketer and as a product analyst, and it's safe to say it's my favorite analytics tool that I've ever used.
- The company continues to innovate - they've launched experimentation, session replays, in-app guides and surveys, and continue to make strides in marketing analytics and data. I've always used Amplitude for product analytics, but it's great to be able to consolidate other tools in our tech stack and have everything in one place!
- The community and support around Amplitude is incredible - I'm always able to find answers to my questions and get new ideas on how to approach a problem
- The educational resources are great - I love that they have resources on how to use Amplitude, but also analytics in general.
- It's intuitive and user-friendly - I've had great adoption across my company from marketing and product all the way to our leadership team.
- The depth of analysis options - all of the basic analytics tools are there, but they've released so much analytics functionality with innovative chart types and reporting tools. I haven't even explored them all in my 3 years as a user, but it definitely makes my life easier as an analyst and helps me learn as I go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only blocker I've run into in my 3 years of using Amplitude is not being able to look back more than 365 days in the data! There are some creative ways to solve this, i.e. adding a YoY comparison or making multiple charts next to each other in a dashboard (i.e. 2025, 2024, 2023), but it would be nice to go back further. I like the easy of use functionality with Amplitude, it requires minimal learning curve for user of Amplitude to start playing around and create charts/dashboard to track user behavior and product metrics. I have been using Amplitude now for more than 1 year and find it extremely helpful to understand customer behavior and usage pattern of new feature i release as a Product Manager. None at the moment, all features i require/desire from a Product Analytics software are already part of Amplitude. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
What I love most about Amplitude Analytics is how easy it is to use while still giving us powerful insights. The way it lets us track user journeys and analyze cohorts has been a game-changer for understanding our customers' behavior. I'm constantly impressed by the retention analysis tools - they've helped us figure out which features keep users coming back. Being able to create our custom events without bugging our engineers every time is such a relief! And I appreciate how simple it is to share findings with other teams, which has helped us make better decisions across the board. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, I don't have major complaints about Amplitude Analytics. If I had to mention something, I'd say it could be a bit more beginner-friendly for new team members - there's a learning curve at first. I also wish their mobile app experience was more robust, as I often need to check metrics on the go. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use amplitude in our Customer Success org for monitoring customer usage, getting actionable insights, and unlocking a more proactive approach should we detect something, whether good or bad. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Theres a bit of a learning curve to getting up and running and starting to extract value. Some of this is tied to your underlying data infrastructure, but theres definitely a little more education and training than I would prefer, this has hindered wider adoption. My company uses Amplitude daily for our insights, experimentation, and cohort creation for outreach. For a single tool it's very comprehensive and you can use the same behavioral or demographic data all in one tool instead of having a separate analytics platform, experimentation platform, and personalization platform.
Training materials and documentation are great, and if that doesn't cover my needs I am very confident that I could use either the community forums, office hours, or customer support to get quick answers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be cumbersome to use with nonstandard implementations - our team uses Unity and a custom Amplitude implementation, so some features aren't available to us like restarting AB tests or using ampli for telemetry validation as code is being written.
Amplitude's automatic identity resolution doesn't apply to exports to data warehouses, so more effort is needed to get the same results with the same events in another BI tool.
It's also difficult to look at data over long periods of time. In general there's a 365 day lookback and in aggregate a 12-quarter lookback (and some flexibility for YoY comparisons)
Data is democratized and it's easy enough for anyone who needs it to make charts, but it can be difficult to ensure that others in the company are finding consistent insights. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
A wide variety of features and charts you can create to understand user behavior, conversion funnel, user segment, campaign performance and all other crucial metrics. I can quickly jump in Amplitude and help the team verify hypotheses, identify potential frictions, and enrich data-driven decisions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When it comes to advanced analysis, oftentimes I found I can put together multiple solutions in Amplitude, however, sometimes the results are all different which makes it hard to moving forward. In this context, I will either post my question in the Amplitude Slack Community or reach out to our data scientist and ask them to perform analysis from the raw data which in average, takes a few days to a week. Retention analysis, Funnel Optimalization, Behavorial Analytics, Segmentation, Predictive tools, Collaboration tools, Good Broader Ecosystem. They have responsive support team and a helpful knowledge base with tutorials and guides. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We using it every day, but can make it hard to fully customize visualizations or perform highly specific analyses. Limits the ability to act on immediate trends or changes. Missteps in tracking can lead to flawed analyses and delayed insights. It requires collaboration between product, marketing, and development teams to configure event tracking properly. Amplitude is a masterclass in balancing extreme customization with ease of use. From implementation to chart creation, it's a breeze. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't love that the pro plan only allows 5 cohorts, as we rely heavily on cohorting to send emails. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I love the simplicity of the Amplitude platform for tracking the analytics of my products. They have a cohesive UI and UX that makes the learning curve short, and the usability high. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I do not inherently dislike anything about Amplitude Analytics, but I do wish that some features were more obvious on how to use them and find them. I find that they have a lot of useful features that are hard to find. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I believe the ease of use is one of the main selling points of Amplitude. After the team configured it and mapped events (pretty quickly, btw), I didn't need to expend a second reading docs or tutorials to start viewing the data I needed and answering the questions I had on app usage, retention, funnels, etc. I use it daily and it's my team's main platform for dashboards regarding our app (we do have GA4, but we rarely use it for this purpose, since Amplitude gives us a better view of our app and users). It has some nice integrations, with Facebook Audiences, for example. Or even sending data back to GA4. It's much more powerful than a simple dashboard and analytics tool. I highly recommend it for any team looking to deeply understand their app usage and customers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There are only 2 things I miss in Amplitude. ̶T̶h̶e̶ ̶f̶i̶r̶s̶t̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶m̶o̶r̶e̶ ̶c̶r̶o̶s̶s̶ ̶c̶h̶a̶r̶t̶ ̶c̶o̶n̶t̶r̶o̶l̶s̶ ̶(̶l̶i̶k̶e̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶L̶o̶o̶k̶e̶r̶ ̶S̶t̶u̶d̶i̶o̶)̶,̶ ̶b̶e̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶a̶b̶l̶e̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶a̶p̶p̶l̶y̶ ̶o̶n̶e̶ ̶t̶i̶m̶e̶ ̶f̶i̶l̶t̶e̶r̶,̶ ̶f̶o̶r̶ ̶e̶x̶a̶m̶p̶l̶e̶,̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶t̶ ̶a̶p̶p̶l̶i̶e̶s̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶a̶l̶l̶ ̶c̶h̶a̶r̶t̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶d̶a̶s̶h̶b̶o̶a̶r̶d̶. That part's been solved. Or cohort filters and so on. The other thing is a bit more complicated, I know, but it would be nice to have a visual event setup. Like Facebook Event Setup Tool. A bit of a stretch, I know, but it could work for front-end events. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
