The flexibility to use API and build functionality out of our own application, while still being able to outsource referral payments. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Great support from our success coach, basic functionality solves a real business problem for us. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Our integration took a lot of upfront data and engineering investment, and since then we've had to keep doing more and more steep L/XL investments to do the kind of content testing, segment testing, and incentive value testing we'd see as the minimum we'd want to do with a product like this one. That frequently means we can't do that kind of testing, which means we feel like we're leaving a lot of value on the table. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The product itself out of the box does work rather well. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1) The first problem with GetAmbassador, is that every additional feature costs money. For a small business, the price of the service 5x-ed (literally five times the original price) in 6 years.
2) Furthermore, you can't leave (as is the case with more referral programs to be honest). We have hundreds of people sharing our links — and so if they raise the price, the cost for us to leave is very high because all of the links would shut off.
3) Also, the support is non-existent, from what I understand all of the founding team has moved on — so it's basically just running as someone's acquisition. At the moment, all of my links have been down for 2 now, and literally no one has replied. My suggestion if you're looking for a referral program is to find a service where you OWN your links yourdomain/affiliatelinke123 etc. Otherwise, if you go with a referral company like GetAmbassador you are locked in. They'll raise the prices. And there is nothing you'll be able to do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Lots of options for giving users a good experience, lots of opportunities to customize experiences. Customization is pretty crucial because we don't have a traditional out of the box ecomm package, everything's custom built, so it needs to be relevant to how people use our service. Reporting is sometimes unclear, features have been broken with no explanation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

We reached a point where we hit the ceiling of what we wanted to do with our program vs. what we could do. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
