Amazon SES is a straightforward service with useful features. It makes the sending of hundreds of emails from recognized email systems so simple you no longer have to be concerned of your computer's IP address becomes blacklisted. Also, it is really easy to implement the product and to train our staff. When needed, it indicates when you must also do more extra work. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has no too many features that I honestly think it needs, for doing open identification or tap sensors. There nothing else I dislike about Amazon SES Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We use SES to receive huge number of emails. Number goes into 10's of millions daily. The rate at which SES can receive emails is just amazing. We take half day to day to process all those emails while SES can receive emails in real time and in our case place it on S3. If price is not the constrain then one of the best service. Cost, though its just $0.10 for 1000 emails and looks cheap but when the email to be processed goes into 100's of millions in a month the bill shoots up. Otherwise no other complaints. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amazon SES easily allows sending a large volume of emails with high reliability hosted across different availability zones of AWS data centers, making it an excellent tool for sending (usually automated by monitoring and intrusion control tools when they detect triggers related to out-of-threshold values) to specific email addresses and teams that will handle the technical intervention or the engagement of other people. It thus allows, with total security, to entrust your human resource engagement system in case of emergency or disaster to an SMTP server provided by Amazon (with the latest security standards currently available worldwide), ensuring 100% secure reception on corporate and non-corporate mailboxes that might mark similar emails as spam, especially in the case of multiple alerts generated by multiple triggers. SES is simply perfect and can be configured in about 10 minutes and a few clicks to verify the domain from which to send. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The DKIM verification is unfortunately mandatory even though it has not been recently considered a value by many international mail providers. Without it, it is impossible to proceed, but many providers and domain DNS panels do not allow the addition of DKIM records, which practically leaves users unable to use SES unless they purchase a domain or transfer the current one. I understand AWS's concerns regarding the use of SES for sending spam if there were no DKIM, but I do not accept the restriction of having to use it by force. This decreases my overall rating of the service. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
AWS SES is as low as email pricing can get without sacrificing deliverability. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's complicated to setup SES because it involves wrangling with a lot of AWS services and api's. I suggest you use a wrapper service like sendwithses.com or if you don't mind using your own servers, you can use sendy.com Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Amazon SES increases the probability for an email to hit a client mailbox and not the spam directory, as it provides DKIM signage for all calls. With DKIM help, we could send top quality e-mails without caring about firewalls as much as possible. Also, high confidence-messages are provided by this tool. It makes pretty simple to require emails from the complete domains to be sent. In general, Amazon SES quality is just awesome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amazon SES does not allow you to send embedded objects to an e-mail address, This is a huge problem, so it's easier to save them internally if you want to pass them along. Also, it has an extensive API learning curve, but it can be simplified dramatically with the SMTP authorization function. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

With Amazon, it is very easy to send lots of messages with no scaling worries. It provides SMTP connectivity, allowing every device to be linked to SES, irrespective of which language or which database it uses, as the library is always SES-compliant for transmitting e-mail messages. Also, Amazon SES offers you complete control of the communications and these are not as narrowly constrained by rules as it would be on other similar tools, like MailChimp. Setting up bounces in Amazon SES is a bit difficult. Also, the instructions are not reliable and are often confusing when trying to re-establish the SPF. And it almost doesn't provide any email analytics, something I think Amazon SES needs in order to become a more integral tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

One of the biggest things about this program that I absolutely love is the fact that you are only charged for what you used. That alone makes Amazon SES great in my book because I know that I am only paying for the features that I have used over the period of time. It's also very flexible in connecting to various other software/programs etc. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It can be a bit tricky to figure out how to use the backend for those who are not tech-savvy. As a result, I think that might be something that they can try to improve a little bit. But other than that I'd say it's pretty impressive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Amazon SES is PERFECT if your company send a lot of emails (e.g. subscriptions verification, newsletters, marketing emails) and you don't want that your real primary domain and mail exchanger will be blacklisted or marked as Spam (is very complex to remove an entire domain to antispam global lists) from big mail provider Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There's nothing that I dislike, Amazon SES is simply and powerful and is very easy to use: from preliminary setup, domain verification to email sending Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
