I am using Fluent SMTP for my WordPress website and connected it with Amazon SES to deliver the emails. The setup at the Amazon SES was quite confusing and complex at the beginning that it took several attempts to get it right. Unfortunately, there isn't much of support to help with the setup. Is not a good practice to have in the same server the web services and the email services. Sending emails use resources, and if you are hacked, you can send thousands of spam email from your IP and have problems.
Using external service as Amazon, is the best solution. You need to apply some more efforts compared with other companies, but have the best prices.
Many third party tools, plugins, etc, provide solutions to integrate Amazon SES with your CRM, Ecommerce, etc.
Read the documentation and the own amazon recomendations to setup properly, and your emails will arrive to more inbox than before with your own smtp server. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
As many Amazon services, are not very friendly to use, and you need to have a base of knowledge of how works amazon, his dashboard, and the the email service, mx dns, smtp, etc. But in any case, with a small tutorial or youtube video, you can work achieve it. The thing I appreciate most about Amazon SES is the ability to validate domains via DNS, which turns out to be a quick and intuitive process. The simple configurability and the generation of access credentials for sending emails make the service extremely practical. At FormaFarm, we use it with satisfaction for all our clients, ensuring reliability and efficiency. The implementation of services is also simple, and the documentation offers various information on integrations. The only time we needed to ask for support was when we had to increase the sending limit, but Amazon's customer service is always ready to provide support. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
New accounts may have restrictions on sending volumes, which require time and approvals to be increased, and additional configurations are needed to comply with anti-spam regulations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Its a cloud-based email service that's helpful because it's cost-effective, reliable, and easy to use. It can help you send and receive emails at scale, and it integrates with other AWS services. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

it can be overwhelming at the moment of starting Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We used to run our business email through the same mail servers as our product emails. It was a continual pain point. We would seem to end up in continual loop of blacklists and lobbying to get off of blacklists for seemingly no good reason. No longer with SES. Low volume of real people in business email and high volume of transactional emails through SES with no hassles. We're a good email hygene company when we separated the two and took advantage of SES email reputation for high volume mail. Blended was a nightmare. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
There is a period where you need to prove yourself and get validated to start the service which just took time and effort. The next hassle was that the outbound email relay is per region which makes it hard to migrate away from one region to the next completely. We just leave it in the old region because it's all in the same being in AWS. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This is the cheapest email service out there, implementation is very easy if you know basic coding, it can be easily intregrated with a lot of apps, best for sending high volume emails, gives 62000 emails free every month if the server is setup in AWS S3. Can send emails with proper SPF & DKIM authentaction, we use SES for our daily email marketing and newsletters. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Don't expect customer support from Amazon team, it is not very easy to reach their support team. They are not very quick in replying. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I used SES and their dedicated IPS for all my business (website) email requirements for a while. We used them both for transactional and marketing emails - and the best things is that SES is extremely cost effective - you can send literally thousands of emails per second for very little overall cost. The system is very reliable and easy to set up - and requesting custom (dedicated) ips is a piece of cake as well. They have tools that automatically monitor your bounce rates, complaint rates etc which are very useful for any company - along with graphs etc that show you where you currently are in this regard. All in all, very little to dislike about SES, a great AWS offering like a lot of others. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Perhaps the interface could be made a little more intuitive - much like a lot of AWS on general which seems to be set up more for hard-core coders like Jeff himself used to be rather than the layperson but that's a small issue really - AWS documentation is very extensive and it's easy to figure ones way around the system if one peruses the docs carefully. SES is ready to go when it comes to email sending. Plus the service comes with a free tier where a certain amount of emails sent are free of cost per month. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The threshold for Bounce and Spam rates is less than 5%. This becomes a reason for disruption of services when we aim at sending bulk transaction emails but the email addresses are not validated. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
