AhaSlides Pros and Cons

I started using AhaSlides with my synchronous online courses. I wanted to create lectures that students would want to participate in rather than tune out or work on something else. AhaSlides encourages students to participate, and they provide a lot of different ways to interact with students in- and out of class. I now use them for all lectures and professional presentations. I didn't realize how competitive students were until I used the quiz features. They pay more attention to the lecture material because they want to rank high on the leaderboard :-). I honestly can't think of anything I dislike about AhaSlides. I guess some more templates would be nice. That's not a significant issue, though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about AhaSlides is probably how easy it is to set up everything according to how you imagine it. It got all the functions avaialble that you can imagine for this kind of product. You can simply select them from the menu and customize it as you want. The slides as work perfectly as intended during the presentation. The customer support is also very helpful and responsive. The implementation of the browser version was also sublime, it works perfectly well with the presentation on screen. I recomend Ahaslides to anybody trying to host an interactive event. The only problem I had with AhaSlides is that it was not possible to adjust the font size when showing survey results as the layouts were already fixed. It was a bit hard to read it the screen was small. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The relative ease of the setup works with Google but is also similar enough that almost anyone can set this up for their team. I've used this multiple times and, overall, have had a great experience with it. Makes it easy to set up simple trivia games, or also can be used during a day of training, to break up the monotony of the day, easy to integrate into whatever you have planned Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Like any program, its all in how you use it, I'm sure I've tried to use it outside of how its meant, but that's about it. Could probably use different levels for people that use it less frequently, but again, that's more on me Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

There are many (more than their competitors) options of different types of slides/competition types. AhaSlides also has a feature to add gifs in the background. It's an engaging way participants to learn (with competition) and learn from them using AhaSlides as a quick temperature check/needs assessment. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I wish I can make quick changes while presenting. (I.e. like in ppt, even while in presenter view, I can make a change in the design view without messing it up while presenting. Also, it would be great if there is a "need more time" button Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

AhaSlides makes it easy to keep your audience engaged with features like polls, word clouds and quizzes. The ability of the audience to use emojis to react also allows you to gauge how they are receiving your presentation. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When creating the slides, the box for speaker notes is very small and I havent found a way to enlarge it, without flipping screens to the backstage and then back to editing. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The open-ended questions, with QR code invitations, all me to quickly engage students will discussion questions where everyone's answer is equally visable and shared with the class. The only issue I have had would be with the reports, which do not always reset fast enough when multiple groups use respond in a day. Some times the report will still contain entries from previous groups. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I love the ease of use. My students appreciate how easy it is for them to log in using Google accounts and how interactive it is throughout the lessons.
