Dynamic Filtering is my favorite feature of RoboHelp (2015 Release), saving many hours and effort of authoring time, as well as providing a great experience for the user. Dynamic filters allow users to narrow down the topics to be displayed in the Table of Contents similar to how they can narrow down which shirt to buy on a clothing web site by size or color. For example, say you have a help app for explaining tips on being productive. The user might want to see just tips relating to their Headquarters Office (HQ) location and just relating to Managers. By clicking both these boxes and then viewing the Table of Contents, they will only see tips for HQ Managers.
This feature makes use of the conditional build tags that current authors are familiar with. If I were to accomplish this in the prior release, I would have had to use conditional tags with multiple outputs, or perhaps had several books in the table of contents with what I thought the relevant content would be, or would have had to use the WebHelp output in order to use content categories, or perhaps some other solution. None of those solutions would accommodate all the possible outcomes that the user might want and would have resulted in possibly many outputs, which means more publishing time and effort on my part, which is not desirable. Now, I can have one simple table of contents and the users can click the Filter icon and decide real-time what they want to see! It’s fantastic.
Filters are quite flexible. In addition, you can hide the filters if you don’t want this feature to display, set a default filter selection, and allow multiple selections or only one selection. Note that this feature is in the new Responsive Design Layout, which brings me to the next favorite. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It creates documents instead of pages in SharePoint when you integrate with SharePoint. This prevents the user from seeing the changes in the SharePoint page history screen. This may not be important but is just something I've noticed and would have liked to seen handled a different way. You can view track changes via MS Word, so there are ways around that, which may or may not be better depending upon your personal opinion. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It's a decent Help Authoring Tool and does the job for small-scale documentation needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It's meant for small and medium-scale documentation needs and is hard to export to other HAT formats. Moreover, it's a native app and not so good for scalability and migration. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have used both RH2017 and now RH2020. Both are challenging to learn, but RH2020 is a little more intuitive. I do like the look of the output and the ways I can link documents together for our users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The learning curve is incredibly steep. There is not much that is intuitive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
the possibilities to search and insert links throughout the project Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
that the newest version doesn't have the Robohelp classic anymore Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

In my opinion, the best features of Robohelp are 1.) the way that you can create separate chapters -- which is very nice, and 2.) I also love how easy it is to export different versions of the user manual(s). For instance, you can export .pdf, .docx, and online help from Robohelp, whereas if you were using a different document authoring tool, you might have to go through multiple programs in order to generate those deliverables. I dislike the fact that Robohelp requires some basic HTML knowledge to get the most of out the experience. It isn't that hard to pick up basic HTML, but you may find that RoboHelp has some formatting issues that can only be fixed by diving into the HTML and fixing a bit of code. Again, it's not that hard to manage, and HTML is intuitive for working through minor problems, but it would be nice if this feature wasn't included since I think the product is aimed at less technical people. The best feature of Adobe RoboHelp is easy migration of content from FrameMaker source to RoboHelp source. The help is generated really quick and multiple help formats are supported. Single sourcing is every easily achieved. Use of Conditional text to filter content. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Editing content imported from Abode FrameMaker is a very slow process and cumbersome. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I first used RH (Robo Help) during 1995, while it was under Blue Sky Software Corporation. I started with a version somewhere in 4.0+. It was time while working for software applications that were usually developed using VB, C, C+ series, based on the client-server based framework, and crystal report technology of that decade.
I liked using this tool to create help files in an easy process involving no extra overheads to redo or touch up in the source. RH is simple to create projects from the main content you drafted in Rich Text Format, usually in MS Word, that can go for print manuals as well. This is the concept called Single Source, used for various throughputs while remaining in a single work environment. The “edit once and publish multiples” is truly valid to RH HAT. Of course, over the time RH stepped further to accommodate the Frame Maker as a compatible editor for help authoring. This is the time the majority of help authoring community looked at RH as a preferred tool. I witnessed several organizations having RH as one of the recommended software at the top of their standard tools list. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The least liked feature of Initial versions of RH of that time was the compilation time and lesser logs and hints to fix the source. being a tech writer, the fixing is possible mostly in source formating. However, the enhancements in the latest version have overcome the gaps. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how all the templates and resources are available to the users. Plus its really easy to use all of its design functions. Easy to create new pages for Online User guide. Easy to Use CSS style options. Easy to import and export files. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I dislike only one thing that for new users it is hard for them to find all functions. Need to revise the toolbar section. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It work faster as compared to other authoring tools. We can customize layouts and templates very easily in the RoboHelp. Topic based authoring allow us to create the content which can be reused across the documents. it enables us to publish the content in various formats as per our needs. Even a beginner can start working on this software very easily. I will recommend it to people who are looking for an authoring tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it detach topics from their Master Pages. Like editing in HTML mode causes this issue. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
