After Effects is more than the swiss army knife of video production. It can do anything. I've been using it for over 20 years and it's come from strength to strength.

I'll use it for the obvious: motion graphics. But I've even used it as an editor, when I didn't have access to other tools. A compositing tool for VFX as well as a look dev and final comper for CGI and animation work. Oh! And I did 2 full 2D cutout animation series on it, rigs and all.

I used to be terribly critical of After Effects, but Adobe has improved it so much over the years, I have little bad things to say about it. For most uses it is my tool of choice. For VFX compositing I still prefer Nuke. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Few other pieces of software are so easily used by such a wide range of skill-set. After Effects can be utilized with a more basic understanding utilizing a plethora of templates or is more than up to the task of creating extremely complex graphics from an advanced user. I'm still not a huge fan of dynamic linking. Typically I render and export a comp in After Effects and then bring that final rendered file into Premiere Pro for mastering. The software also often does not play well with Media Encoder. I prefer to encode from After Effects even though the compression options are fewer -- it also crashed less often using this method. You can edit videos, do 2D and 3D animations, import 3D models and composite files from other software like Cinema4D and Blender. It's the best software to edit videos and add graphical elements or basically motion graphics in videos. You can create typography videos, character animations and even add VFX to your footages. It uses only 1 Core of the processor. Earlier versions used to work on all cores and were much faster and more efficient. Need a heavy graphics card and a lot of RAM to run smoothly. Higher processor clock speed is more important than number of cores. Generated large cache files and fills up the Storage quickly. Have to clean temporary files everyday. Number one the amount of apps you get to use. Next is being able to save everything to the cloud. That saved so much space on my laptop allow everything to move as fast as the day I bought it. The versatility is why I will be keeping my subscription Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The least I would say is being able to find customer support. If you have a problem, its tough finding support, but after you do get a hold of them. They do get your squared away. It's Easy to integrate into your current work load and easy to use though. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

After Effects is awesome software for Visual effects, 3D videos, and world-class motion graphics animation, it's fairly easy to learn and It is one of the most powerful and useful skills I have, Adobe After Effects has a lot of tools for editing or creating any type of video, be it color grading, Rotoscoping, 3D tracking, 2D motion tracking, and many more useful tools. I use it daily in my professional life, I am easily able to integrate it with other software like Premier Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, Blender 3D, Cinema4D, and many other tools. It's great software but If I had to pick, I think that sometimes I face issues with real-time video playback, It just takes a while to cache preview sometimes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

After effects is easy to use to create stunning graphics and animations to incorporate in video compositions. In addition, adding a Maxon license pushes the boundaries of easy creation of dynamic 3d animated objects added to the video. Adobe after effects helps me to create a motion graphics animation. Creating title animations, shape animations and other complex animations is much easier than other animation software. Worst thing is it's CPU Oriented. If they could make it GPU Oriented it would be a blast
