Top Rated ActivePresenter Alternatives

I love that I can record my whole screen, as opposed to just a window, as well as choose what audio to record, such as system audio but not microphone. It has been a godsend for training sessions. The editing of videos is so dynamic as well, it's been extremely useful in putting together procedural trainings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The only downsides that I have found is that it slows down my computer a bit while using it, and because the editing abilities are so dynamic that there's a bit of a learning curve (especially if you self-teach like me). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The software is generally excellent except for a few wish-list items I'd like to see implemented. But the #1 draw is that the support is out of this world! post a problem on the forum and before anyone attempts to answer you're likely to get an email from a suppport person to help you. Even if the software doesn't do exactly what you want, they'll try to work out a solution for you, even to the point of writing Javascritpt code for you to make it work. I even wrote to support several times before I purchased the product and the treated me just like they would any paying customer. Usually they ask me to send my project code and they will analyze the problem and usually even send me back a correct working replacement.
As far as the software, it is similar to Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline, but cheaper and in my opinion less steep learning curve, although there still is a big learning curve - just not as steep as the others.
Many other user examples make learning easier by allowing you to open and view their slides, code, and object properties. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The lack of some user customization. For example they've been promising the ability to make in-document hyperlinks to another in-document slide for some time but seem to be dragging their feet. Seems to be only external hyperlinks available. Also for the presentations I can't seem to create an outline-style table of contents for learners to easily access. Pretty much just the left-hand slide thumbnails. It's possible to make your own, but it's very manual.
Finally I can't seem to make a test in which several questions appear on a page, the way a normal quiz would be displayed. It's one question per page. They sent me a workaround some time ago with some code, but it is, again, very manual and time consuming to create.
But compared with similar software, the capabilities, price, and support still make it number one in my book. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Of the few applications I know that "do not bother," meaning that (thanks to their ease of use) they allow me to concentrate on content creation.
The application is full of details that demonstrate its focus on meeting the needs of its users. It is clear that they take them into account.
It is a powerful application, but it is not complicated because it allows you to use only what you need at any given moment, forgetting about everything else.
It is an application in constant improvement based on attentive listening to the messages of its users. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Working with version 9, I find it very difficult to find any disadvantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The application has an intuitive slide-based workflow, a robust set of eLearning development tools, multi-modal publishing (demo, tutorial, practice, and test modes) and one-click publishing to HTML5 and/or SCORM formats for ready deployment via LMS (we use it with MOODLE). The few times I have needed support, the team was very responsive and extremely helpful and even on a few occasions created scripts to make the software do what we needed it to do (which were somewhat non-standard use-cases). I have used many eLearning development and deployment platforms (including the 2 heaviest hitters in the industry), but ActivePresenter is hands-down
the best value for the money and is most accessible for new team members to ramp up in learning development. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
After 5+years of use to create dozens of interactive learning resources, I have not dislikes. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

ActivePresenter leaves control to the developer and allows for a great deal of flexibility to realize your projects. User friendly interface makes most things easy to find. Strong JavaScript support and extremely well written documentation. Technical support from developer via community forums is fantastic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like that with the audio of my choice, I can record anything that is on my screen. I can make training movies that are of a high caliber and appearance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I have observed that utilizing the screen recording tool causes a slight slowdown in my PC. There is also a steep learning curve because the editing choices are complex. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Active Presenter is one of the best screen recorders, video editor,s and an amazing E-learning tool Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Getting used to the controls. They can take some time to get used to. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Recording videos for a very long time and then editing them at once is great
2. Record the Audio of the presenter and also the audience (Two inputs can be selected when sound is recorded).
3. Editing the video is easy and can be exported to different formats, the one I used and like is mp4. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
1. Editing the video sometimes leads to issues when you have two timelines and then you by mistake update the wrong timeline, you have to rewatch this timestamp to figure out the issue. But rather than that, never faced issues in personal or professional usage of the tool. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

It is a very simple video editor, and most of the options are available for free. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Sometimes it is too manual, for example it is very challenging to blur areas on a video, as you have to create the movement of the blurred area. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
For those who do not know how to edit videos or are just new to this field, Active Presenter is a great choice! When I began to make videos for my classes and for my Youtube Channel, there were plenty of software. However, mostly I ended up becoming confused using those. Compared to many, ActivePresenter is very user-friendly. The interface is pretty easy to understand, and I like the slides' features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
When I edit videos, sometimes the volume function can be a trouble. In every video, we need to increase video volume on Active Presenter manually. I found out that it can be done only once. If I want to increase the volume again, it becomes 100x more, which sounds very bad on my videos. My recommendation would be to make the volume come to original so that the user can make as many adjustments as possible. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
