I like Accruent EMS for its ability to let internal users request rooms and our staff to approve them without needing to manually input data. It simplifies the process of admin work for conference and events groups by ensuring no overlap of spaces and that all correct approvals have been completed. I feel the UI of the EMS desktop application is old. It would be great to modernize the graphics, while keeping them simple, and to allow for more drag and drop options. I use Accruent EMS for scheduling all of the buildings on our college campus, and it makes it easy for campus partners to collaborate and see the events occurring across campus, their needs, and the availability in general. I like how easy it is to use the desktop application; everything is right there in front of you in an easy-to-access platform. There are a lot of idiosyncrasies with EMS. For example, having to repeatedly reset window coordinates to ensure functionality, the search function needs ultra-specific terms, and certain functionalities (such as sequencing) don't actually appear to do anything. Training guides can help some, but there are a lot of questions that our team has about configuration that are not easily answered because of how our team utilizes EMS. I like how customizable Accruent EMS is, especially with the room configuration and reports. The high level of customization allows us to manage spaces used by multiple business units on our campus, each with different operational needs, all within one product.
