They persisted billing for stays that were cancelled. On demonstrating by google analytics it was not effective, Sojern denied this. Had signed a non-expiring contract, so they collected 15% of our revenue for a year without response

They didn't tailor the ads to certain markets, although they make huge claims about that and write series of articles about it. They just kept saying had advanced they were at identifying travel intent, and every time I asked for how ELSE they were targeting it and who they were sending the ads to, they just wouldn't answer. Finally, they acknowledged it was just targeted by travel intent to my area.

Which was awful, because when I approved the ads, they told me that wasn't the case. We selected a pretty ecclectic theme to suit the niche of a larger market we're going for. Turned out, that targeting the ads to folks who might want that wasn't being done at all. Instead they targeted ads to a one-size-fits all boomer segment of the population who want tours but NOT walking tours we offer. When I asked how we could fix the situation, they got very condescending, I'm too small, we can't work miracles. It was all exactly how their salesperson told me things would NEVER go when I asked. They're very clever about what they say on the phone vs. put in writing, so it's an intentional practice to be deceptive at sales level in ways they can get away with.
