CTools is very helpful and easy to use. I like the multiple uses and organizational structure. I believe the uses for it are very relevant to schools and colleges. I dislike the look, it needs to look better. Also more collaborative options like MBox or Google Drive. That would've really helped during capstone classes. I would like easier options for uploading submissions. In addition, the forums are good, but need to be improved by being easier to access - maybe with arrows to have them be accessible instead of going to a new page. I really don't like how when I try to right click something to bring it in a new tab, it doesn't show up right and isn't helpful. Like - if I am right clicking on an article my professor posted, the actual article won't open in the new tab it will just take me to an uglier page of the one I was originally trying to click on. I think it is as complete as an online platform can be for providing all the requirements associated to the education process. Je ne suis pas sûr si c'est juste un paramètre déterminé par les professeurs, mais je souhaite que la fonction de carnet de notes calcule nos notes au fur et à mesure. Vous pouvez organiser les onglets selon vos préférences par classe, club, etc. J'ai aimé que toutes les pages de classe aient le même format, ce qui permettait de trouver facilement les notes, les quiz et les forums. Difficile de trouver certains outils essentiels comme la suppression d'un onglet. Avoir de l'expérience avec Moodle et Blackboard et évaluer Moodle comme le meilleur et Sakai au milieu. Les options du forum de discussion et les téléchargements de devoirs dans Sakai étaient plutôt excellents (tout comme les rappels pour soumettre les travaux). Un professeur pouvant envoyer un e-mail à toute sa classe via Sakai leur a probablement aussi fait gagner beaucoup de temps. What I like the most is how easy Sakai is to use. The layout in general is very intuitive, and makes it easy to access information. I feel confident that even people with relatively low internet literacy could figure out how to use the system. There are a few features that aren't intuitive. Namely, the features located in "My Workspace" like the calendar function, etc. They could be used way more effectively. Adding information to your calendar isn't easy (you probably should just be able to click on the grid and go from there). Sakai has a great open source philosophy, and can be used to make very versatile products to manage course needs. As either a student or instructor, it's nice to have everything in one place related to coursework, grades, etc.

The user interface needs lot of improvement. It is outdated and very frustrating at times. It is difficult to navigate and is missing basic expectations like the ability to 'go back' easily.

It is cumbersome and difficult to enter grades since ctools does not allow you to have more than 1 tab open at a time.

Coursework is useful to get info from professors and have everything organized in one place. Honestly, not a professor or a businessperson using the product, so can't say for sure from the administrator perspective. In principle Sakai is a good idea for education and classroom management. The ability to organize content in folders, customized access permissions for individual students, manage tests and grading are all good features. However, the execution leaves much to be desired. The interface is poor. For example, if you navigate away from a page while creating an assignment, all work on the page is lost. This is particularly frustrating when the forward/back button is hit inadvertently (or in my case when I use command+back_arrow to jump to the beginning of a sentence and the system interprets this as a back-page command).
