All the expected data services are there: SRDF is the best replication solution on the market, QoS for hosts, service level optimization at the storage group level, SnapVx snapshots save tons of physical disk space, etc. CLI access integrates perfectly with Unix shell scripts or Windows Powershell. Regarding reliability, I have worked with the Dell/EMC Symmetrix family of arrays (VMAX is part of that family) for almost 25 years and have never had an unplanned downtime because of array hardware or service failure. This is not necessarily a dislike, but just a fair warning. Although the array is not too complicated to manage for basic storage presentation, because there is just so much you can do with the array (replication, snapshots, storage presentation, etc) there is a lot to learn in order to master the true power of the array. It is a true Tier 1 enterprise array. Also, it is expensive, but you get what you pay for.
