I like Hootsuite because you can schedule for ALL social media platforms in one space. I REALLY like the messaging feature where you can manage you inbox for ALL platforms in one space, by far the most helpful feature that use use every single day. You can edit cover photos which is a plus. You can create different captions for different platform's (this saves me so much time). I like how you can also choose to send yourself a notification to post for platforms like Instagram, so you can take advantage of their algorithm while still having your posts scheduled. Love how you can drag and drop files from your computer directly into the post. Lastly, I like how you can choose the aspect ratio of the photos you post for different platforms. I wish I could edit videos in hootsuite like adding music and text. I like how in META business suite, you can choose choose the music and write text on your reels, but on hootsuite I either have to make a draft on Instagram, then download, then reupload and it takes time and the video quality is not as good. Hoostuite allows me to schedule all posts in one place. It saves me time because otherwise I would have to schedule the same post 3 times on linkedin, instagram, and facebook and that causes inconsistencies and takes so much time.

I was falling behind on social content, but this tool made it ridiculously easy to get back on track. In just a few steps, I scheduled 2 months' worth of posts and reactivated all my channels. The support team was super helpful, and their instructions were clear and direct, so I didn’t waste time figuring things out.

One of my favorite features is having all my inboxes in one place. It saves me time every day and helps me stay on top of client messages without constantly switching between platforms.

Personally, I feel the UI sometimes appear overbearing and overwhelming. This is a major downside for me as a user. If the UI could become more user-friendly, especially for new users, it could easily increase the functionality. The piece of Hootsuite that I like best is the AI post generator. It helps take so much of the burden off when needing ideas for text for a post. One of the standout features for me is the ability to quickly pull a wide range of data and select specific accounts for analysis. The platform offers robust comparison abilities, allowing you to analyze performance across different time frames. The scheduling feature is also a huge plus — I can plan posts and schedule them to be published at the optimal times, across multiple channels simultaneously, which saves a ton of time. Additionally, the reporting feature is fantastic. It provides in-depth insights into which types of content perform best, making it easy to measure engagement, monitor progress, and present data to the team. The range of metrics available for each account is impressive, and I appreciate that Hootsuite regularly publishes blogs to help users maximize the platform's potential. Overall, it simplifies the process of managing social media and gives you all the tools needed to improve performance.

Overall, while Hootsuite is incredibly helpful and efficient for managing social media and pulling key metrics, these areas for improvement do slightly hinder the user experience. While Hootsuite offers many great features, there are a few aspects that could use improvement. The biggest issue I’ve encountered is with the reporting tool. It seems like the main reporting functionality has changed, and I’m no longer able to have my "default" screen include an overview of all my accounts. Now, I have to create individual reports for each account and go into them separately to pull the data, which is a bit more time-consuming. Additionally, the reports seemed stuck on data from 2022 for a while, which was frustrating. I also noticed that the reports can sometimes be inconsistent—if I pull two similar reports, the top posts may differ based on the metric (likes, comments, impressions), which makes it difficult to draw clear conclusions. I really wish there was more consistency between reports. Another downside is the lack of bulk post deletion — it’s a bit tedious to delete individual posts one by one, and it would be great if there was an option to delete multiple posts at once. Lastly, the time frames for comparing data can be limiting. For example, when comparing data from this year to last year, I was unable to go back to January 1st and had to settle for January 15th, which impacted the accuracy of my analysis. Hootsuite's core functionality as a scheduler is its best feature. While it has added several additional capabilities over the years, I appreciate the fact that it has maintained the planning and scheduling feature at the highest level. Many SaaS companies tend to lose their focus and let the element that originally brought people to the product go to the wayside after a few years, and Hootsuite has not. As someone who does social media across three companies and four networks, it's nice to have a one-stop shop for social media. I also like that days are labeled for what national days or relevant events (ex. Valentine's Day, the Superbowl, etc) are occurring, which helps me ensure that I don't miss an important posting theme. I have not been a huge fan of the Listening feature on Hootsuite, as it doesn't capture conversations well within my hyper-niche market. However, if you are a company that is looking to track and capitalize on large trends or broad subjects, it's likely a more useful feature. I also don't use the Ads feature, as I find that it is just easier to manage my ads on the network itself. Finally, I continually struggle with posting videos to X on Hootsuite, as it pushes back for size restrictions that posting directly to the platform does not seem to have as an issue. Social media management can feel like a never-ending job that you have to be on top of 24/7. With Hootsuite, I can plan and schedule out dozens of posts as far ahead as I like, which takes a lot of the stress of social media management away. I can also be more intentional and strategic with things like timing because I don't have to worry about being physically available to post something at an ideal time.
