What are data science and machine learning platforms - Help me understand

Hey, g2 community. I am new to the software community and buying software in general. I’ve been tasked with researching and purchasing a new DSML solution…and don’t know where to start. I need a scalable solution that is ideally cloud-native. I have a working list of products below, but I could really use an expert opinion or fresh perspective.

Vertex AI: Google Cloud's Vertex AI is a fully managed machine learning platform. It integrates Google Cloud’s AI and machine learning services into a unified environment, allowing businesses to build, deploy, and scale machine learning models. Vertex AI simplifies the machine learning lifecycle with tools for data preparation, training, deployment, and monitoring. It supports custom models, AutoML, and pre-built models, making it flexible for a wide range of use cases.

DeepnoteDeepnote is a collaborative data science platform that allows data scientists and teams to work together in real time within a Jupyter Notebook environment. It’s designed to provide a collaborative and interactive space for data exploration, model development, and analysis. Deepnote supports integrations with popular data tools and services, making it suitable for machine learning projects, data visualization, and reporting.

I like Google technology, so I am leaning towards Vertex AI. Does anyone have any first-hand experience with these tools?

What about free DSML solutions? https://www.g2.com/categories/data-science-and-machine-learning-platforms/free

I am worried they might not have the same functionality as paid tools, but it would be nice to try them out before I commit to buying.
