We did scan to BIM for many residential and commercial projects of UAE where we estimated the cost of materials already used in a on-hold project and also calculated the future cost to complete the project.

it is a point cloud or collection of points of a 3d simulation of sites through multiple point scanning with the help of laser or trimbles. I personally use this for virtual clash resolutions of some on-site trades on a project. it provides more accurate data of the real sites. very useful for 3d modelling and facility management of a site.very useful to save the cost and time of a particular project.
