I have been an IBM i programmer for the past 25 years. I like it because it's very reliable server. Always up 24/7, no downtime, unless you perform an occasional maintenance. The hardware architecture is very secure. IBM i can't be infected by a PC virus. Viruses cannot hide in RPG and CL programs or physical and logical files. We love our IBM i systems. They work 24x7x365 and don't need much over site by an operations staff. The hardware and software are all supported by IBM. Responsiveness by IBM support is great. IBM i (we call it ERPLX in our organization) is an incredibly flexible program. Within itself it includes dozens of programs, so much so that it is almost a one stop shop for anything related to order entry, invoicing, shipping, and inventory management.
