I just think it could be better in user experience. I prefer terminator's user experience, as it allows the user to split the screen into several smaller screens (without need to change tabs). I think gnome-terminal should implement this "split-screen"...
If you open up your terminal at least once a week it will make your live a little bit better. If you spend most of your day in a terminal, you can't live without it. I mean you can, but why bother?
