We’re a small team looking for the best AI video generators to help us produce short-form videos for social media and marketing: something that makes video creation fast, easy, and visually striking without needing advanced editing skills or adding extra costs we can’t handle.
We’re hoping to find something that’s:
- Easy to set up and use with a small team
- User-friendly for both creators and non-technical staff
- Flexible enough to grow with our needs
- Able to handle different formats (Reels, TikTok, Shorts, ads)
Here are a few AI video generators we’ve been researching on G2:
- HeyGen: Popular for avatars and voiceovers; how natural does it feel for short, engaging clips?
- Synthesia: Often used for training videos; how well does it adapt to marketing-style short videos?
- Veed.io: Easy online editor with AI tools; how reliable is it for quick, polished output?
If you’ve worked with any of these (or others), I’d love to hear:
- What made you pick that tool?
- How easy was it to roll out and get your team using it?
- Any wins, challenges, or surprises you’ve run into?
I’d really appreciate any advice or experiences you’re willing to share!
Does anyone feel like they outgrew Runway or Pictory after scaling up content production? We’re small now, but I’m wondering how much headroom we should plan for.
Definitely some of the best tools available out there!
One of the cons of using HeyGen however is that even with the Avatar IV engine, the facial expressions seem a bit unreal and leave some room for improvement.
On the plus side, the integrations with SORA 2 and the introduction of the video AI agent are superb additions. With the agent mode, I was able to create a 30 sec video for a new offering launch in a minute - a draft one of course. There was some editing required, some refinements but still a cost saving of approx. $10K and turnaround time of 2 days vs 2 weeks (at least in my case).
Alternatively, SORA 2, now available, is also a decent option. However, you need to be a ChatGPT plus subscriber to access.
Success of these tools does depend on your "prompting skills" rather than video editing skills. So, it's a tradeoff in terms of skill investment as well.
Text-to-video generation is a fascinating task. The secret lies in the quality of prompts. Each of them has its pros and cons.
Some AI tools that produce short-form videos are:
- Sora AI
- Hailuo AI
- kling AI
- Invideo AI
- Canva
- Leonardo AI
- Grok
From a more technical standpoint, I’ve been exploring these AI video tools not just for marketing, but also for creating quick demo clips and walkthroughs for QA automation workflows.
I’ve tried Veed.io and HeyGen, and while they’re great for short-form content, I’ve noticed what @Rahul mentioned, the avatars sometimes feel slightly off, especially when used in technical explainers. The integration possibilities with tools like SORA look promising, especially for automating repetitive video updates or feature summaries. I’d say what matters most is how well these tools integrate with APIs or CI/CD pipelines, something that could make it easier to auto-generate short “release summary” videos after test runs or deployments. Curious if anyone has tried automating that kind of workflow yet?
Higgsfield is my favorite tool right now because it creates short-form videos very quickly and enables me to use the latest and best AI models in photos and videos and also edit photos and raise the quality of photos and videos. It is so easy to learn that I trained a high school student on it to generate short videos for a cartoon series on TikTok and achieve excellent results and my team can start using it quickly with minimal training.
AI video generators and AI text-to-video tools are getting so good, but I’m curious about which one actually works best on a budget? I’m on a small team, we don’t need too many users, and we’re really just testing the idea right now. Would you recommend HeyGen for its super realistic avatars and natural lip-sync, Synthesia for scalable multilingual training content, Colossyan Creator for quick script-to-video training clips, AKOOL for its all-in-one translation and marketing suite, or Creatify AI for fast, ready-to-go ads and social posts?
Any insights based on which of these offers the best value for pilot-scale use are welcome!
