We are an international NGO and needed a way to track our expenses in a Brazilian Real vs our base currency of USD. Zoho Expense is the only platform we found that could do that, and it was also super easy! Our director in Brazil uploaded the app to her phone and took a picture of a recent receipt, and voila, it appeared on our web-based home screen waiting to be approved and processed. What I appreciate most is the automatic scanning of receipts, whether they are uploaded from a file or captured as a photo using your smartphone through the Zoho Expense app. The accuracy is outstanding and saves my users significant time, as they no longer need to stand by a scanner processing each receipt individually or manually inputting their expense claims into a spreadsheet. It would be helpful if there were an option to set a default expense type for each Vendor or Supplier. For instance, if the supplier is "Microsoft," the expense type could automatically fill in as IT Software. However, this is not a major issue for me. It is affordable and has user friendly interface. I really like how easily one can use features like receipt scanning and mileage tracking. It also allows users to upload submit, approve and monitor expenses on the go with its mobile application. Zoho Expense has significantly streamlined the process of submitting and approving my business expenses. I especially appreciate the automatic currency conversion feature, which saves time and reduces errors when dealing with international transactions. Zoho Expense has transformed how we handle employee reimbursements at our company. Three features stand out:
Autoscan is a game-changer. Snap a photo of a receipt and the app extracts merchant, amount, date, and category automatically. Accuracy is impressive - it gets it right 90%+ of the time, even with crumpled receipts or faded print. What used to take 10 minutes of manual data entry now takes seconds.
The mobile app is genuinely good. Not a watered-down afterthought like many business apps. Full functionality, fast, and the camera integration for receipts works flawlessly. Our team actually uses it, which says everything.
Zoho Books integration is effortless. Approved expense reports flow straight into our accounts with correct GL coding. No CSV exports, no manual re-entry, no reconciliation headaches. The sync is reliable and the audit trail is clean.
If you're already in the Zoho ecosystem, this is a no-brainer addition. Even standalone, it's a solid expense management solution.

Zoho Expense offers an incredibly streamlined experience for managing business travel and expense reports. I particularly appreciate its automation features, such as receipt scanning and auto-expense categorization, which save a lot of time and minimize manual errors. The integration with Zoho Books and other accounting tools is seamless, making financial reconciliation much faster and more accurate. While Zoho Expense is excellent overall, the reporting dashboard could be more customizable. At times, generating complex reports requires additional steps or manual filters. I like that I can use Siri on my iPhone to initiate Zoho Expense to track my mileage. This makes mileage tracking for my business travel incredibly easy. Then, when the trip is over, I use Siri to stop tracking and it automatically creates an expense report for my trip. I collect those over a month and submit them for review. EASY!! I also use Siri to record a receipt. No fumbling through buttons or apps. My voice command simply opens the app and allows me to scan my physical receipt. BAM! Easy. It’s so easy to use, and it integrates perfectly with our company’s Zoho Books account.
