It's easy for me to use and embed Yumpu and have users access my newsletter publications. I use it once a month. It does have features I like to use, but it could just be thismuch more user friendly. **What do you dislike about Yumpu?** I don't like the following for Yumpu: -The Cost -How you have to sign in to download content -The Yumpu branding **What problems is Yumpu solving and how is that benefiting you?** The problem Yumpu is solving is: How do I publish a flipbook/magazine newsletter and give users the ability to print and download it as well as embed it onto the staff website. All these features are included on Yumpu. ### 2. All you need to do is upload your PDF and Yumpu does the rest. Once uploaded, you can customize how your document will be shown: the cover, the effects to turn pages, and even the option to download the PDF. Plus, you get access to analytics so you can see how many people are looking at your books/magazines. **What do you dislike about Yumpu?** The UI in the backend feels a little dated and not so user-friendly. The pricing is ok, but Yumpu should offer a discount based on the number of magazines you upload. For instance, we don't use all the magazine slots our plan has, we should be billed accordingly, not by the full amount. **Recommendations to others considering Yumpu:** The backend can feel a little old and dated, remember this is an European company and they are very straightforward even when creating websites. **What problems is Yumpu solving and how is that benefiting you?** One of our clients needs to display a book in their collection on an annual basis. Yumpu lets us create a kiosk to showcase them and give the users the experience as if they are reading through the pages of an actual book. ### 3. You don't have to be super IT smart or anything. Just click upload and then tick a few boxes. Copy and paste the HTML and you are good to go. **What do you dislike about Yumpu?** Recently Yumpu has been squeezing free users more and more trying to corner you into upgrading (even if you only use it once a month like I do). While this is pretty typical I often wish companies incentivised you to use their paid services by giving you more not taking away the toys you already have. It just feels sad. **What problems is Yumpu solving and how is that benefiting you?** Yumpu makes reading a boring PDF a lot more interactive. It brings your document to life and helps overcome barriers that some older readers have with a magazine presented as a webpage style. They can see it is a magazine because it looks like a magazine. ### 4. You can create online magazines, booklets, leaflets, and flyers in pdf form in a matter of minutes. The site even allows you to personalize your pages with company logos and a short description. We use the free for life version for sharing articles, papers and promotional materials to others. The interface is very clean and professional looking and once converted to flipbooks, the site allows us to reach a much wider audience - without clogging up our own site with lots of pdf documents. If you wish you can embed the links to the various documents you create on your own social media platform. **What do you dislike about Yumpu?** The free service does have limitations (including sometimes, some quite questionable adverts), however, you can upgrade to get rid of these, increase your storage and pick up a lot more features inc the ability for readers to download your publications. My main gripe is the very limited search facility - you tend to get quite random results from any search whenever you want to look for a fairly defined theme. Additionally, don't try to log on to your Yumpu account by going to the main Yumpu site. For some reason, it is impossible to find where to log in from the main page - so search for Yumpu login when Googling it. **What problems is Yumpu solving and how is that benefiting you?** Publishing a variety of text-driven documents for people to access and read online - at a time that suits them (can also download documents if you choose for this to happen with the paid version). Great for training companies because we can send links to pre-course reading and post-course reading materials without having to print it all off for delegates. ### 5. It allows us to embed links to various documents and create on our own social media platform. **What do you dislike about Yumpu?** Free service has limitations which include advertising that may be pretty explicit. The login page is quite hard to find when once logged out. **What problems is Yumpu solving and how is that benefiting you?** Users can solve problems such as publishing tet documents for people to access and read online can be solved. yumpu makes pdf reading quite interactive and helps overcome barriers of old readers ### 6. We even create custom-made, private presentations for clients. Sooo much more sophisticated than PowerPoint! ### 9. After you sign up for a 30-days trial, they charge $250 USD for a whole year subscription without any notifications or reminders prior to the charge. I requested a refund literally 5 minutes after it occurred. I explained that I honestly forgot about the subscription since I hadn't been using it, and therefore, I don't need their service. They refused, saying "feel free to use it for a whole year". I had to waste a lot of time getting my money back through claims and disputes. There was neither physical product involved, nor human labor, yet they put in a lot of effort to try and keep the money at all costs. An unethical and unprofessional company that doesn't care about its customers. I would never want to deal with a company with such poor ethics no matter their product quality. Avoid! **What problems is Yumpu solving and how is that benefiting you?** I haven't had any problems solved through Yumpu, but I had a lot of problems trying to unsubscribe. ### 10. I understand that ads are in the free version. I don't have a problem with that. I recently discovered my book was available on Yumpu without my authorization. I have required them to remove it, however I'm unable to get the administrators to provide any assistance in tracking down the user who posted it on their website, in violation of copyright law. This company seems to offer little in the way of protecting published authors; instead providing cover for their members. Apparently, they don't perform due diligence on materials they offer through their community. I find this to be very unethical. **Recommendations to others considering Yumpu:** Be wary of the policies regarding IP law when dealing with this company. **What problems is Yumpu solving and how is that benefiting you?** I am attempting to find out who is posting my book to confirm that it has not been repeated elsewhere. To date, I've had no assistance from Yumpu in spite of their involvement in hosting the uploaded version of this book. ### 13. However, I like the program otherwise. **Recommendations to others considering Yumpu:** It is a great, free software for a flipbook that allows embedding. Easy to use. **What problems is Yumpu solving and how is that benefiting you?** I was previously using Issuu, which I also like. But they recently changed their free plan to no longer allow for embedding. ### 14.
