We like that Wirecast has so many layers and shots that can be created to present a Mass to those online parishioners so that they feel as if they are there. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We have had a few glitches and issues with it not communicating properly with our streaming service Streamspot. There have been some pain points. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It did have a great interface. Pity the software was buggy and crashed. Not good for a professional / broadcast product. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
After dealing with the support team & management of this organisation, I allege the company has acted in an unethical way, providing false information following serious technical issues with their Wirecast Live Encoding software.
Promises were made that a fix would be available, and they confirmed they could replicate the issue, however this story changed and we were left in the dark with no fix.
The management team came up with excuses and delays, and in the end, no resolution or fix was found.
After a final and formal complaint a year later, still with no fix, the end result was receiving an email stating "I understand you are hoping to get a refund for $299 from your Wirecast Pro purchase from 03/27/2021. Unfortunately, that is outside of our 30 day refund policy."
The fault was reported within this 30 day time period, and they had advised a fix would be issued. It never was.
Despite wasting some 50 hours problem solving and educating their own staff how their software works, this was their final send off.
"After careful deliberation, I regret to inform you that Telestream will no longer be able to help you with your live streaming needs and will decline your refund request"
Simple answer.
I don't recommend dealing with this organisation or relying on their software for your needs. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Wirecast solved an important, ever-changing probelm for us: to provide live streamed content to our church and it's members. It allowed just us to reach people where they were, whether on vacation or just stuck at home. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Wirecast seemed to always be a bit glitchy. Aside from it proprietary program that needed to be downloaded to run it, Wirecast's communication with the server was spotty at best. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Wirecast connects easily to multiple platforms for streaming, controls multiple cameras simply, and allows for layering of text and logos over video.
It seems easier to deal with than Davinci (the only other option I explored). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
File management is not as obvious as it might be.
We do find ourselves trying to find where things have saved from time to time (but that's probably operator error). Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It is very robust and can do more than live stream. You can connect various pieces of hardware, such as cameras and USB devices, to create your own little live streaming studio. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Parts of the interface can be overwhelming and require users to learn and educate themselves on using the application. Compared to OBS, though, this application is very advanced. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like how simple and easy using Wirecast can be! The simplicity of training others on the software is incredibly valuable! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Nothing! Even setting up your outputs and streaming accounts has become so easy and user friendly! Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

My company asked me to learn how to do a live simulcast within three weeks. I had no idea what to do. We went with a digital publishing platform that told us the easiest software to learn would be Wirecast, so I got it. Although I would not say its simple to learn, it is easy to learn. Since what I needed to do (overlays, blending audio and video, cuts between scenes, integrating various video and audio sources) is not simple stuff, the program was able to meet the demand, but the layout if intuitive and there are a lot of helpful YouTube videos to learn it. I had a hard time figuring out how to pull audio from Zoom into Wirecast. It took me a lot of work to figure out that I needed a program like Loopback to be a virtual mixer. There is a lot to learn with program production. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

When using it integrated seamlessly with multi camera as well as remote access shots. I used it for 2+ years as the broadcast platform for our team sports, special events, graduation ceremonies and daily morning news broadcasts.
The Morning news was done with multi camera segments and differing backgrounds. Switching the shots was easy and my student directors and producers as well as the cameramen learned to make the switches with no lag. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, I do not remember any downsides, if we had problems it was usually our equipment or internet, Florida is famous for electrical storms... but this was rare. Whenever there was a glitch or a question, the Wirecast team was ready and able to support us, from first time set up and or remote access to resolve any issues.
