They cover big states well. **What do you dislike about Westlaw?** They claim they provide resources they don’t actually have. They also don’t offer short-term trials or let you cancel your contract before a year is up, even if you stop using it after the first few months because it’s been useless. Even after you take the time to write out your reasons for canceling, they just respond that they don’t cancel. Their site also doesn’t consistently show when you’ve used resources outside your plan, yet they still charge incremental overages at a high rate. On top of that, they constantly spam you with their AI tools, which offer minimal—if any—value. They say they have efficient estate planning tools, but they don’t. They say they cover small states (like Idaho), but there aren’t many, if any, state-specific documents. They also claim to have state- and county-specific probate forms and tools, but they don’t. Their onboarding that’s supposed to make the form builder efficient is useless. Finally, they didn't integrate with my CRM, calendaring, and other tools. **What problems is Westlaw solving and how is that benefiting you?** None. ### 2. A user can ask it complex legal questions in everyday language and receive generally good answers. The deep research is good as are the products that check work. **What do you dislike about Westlaw?** The AI is not perfect. It can generate documents and answers that require attorney review of specifics. **What problems is Westlaw solving and how is that benefiting you?** Westlaw is certainly Top Tier with respect to Legal Research platforms. It will certainly help users address legal questions and topics, find relevant authority and indicate when the same is at risk of being undermined. More generally, the question feature is helpful inasmuch as the same narrows down the potential hits - i.e.makes better/specialized research predictions. **Official Response from Greg Fidler:** > "Good and Getting Better" is exactly the spirit we're working in — thank you for that. I wish there were more options to refine a search, and more choices to sort and save the data which comes back from a query. **What problems is Westlaw solving and how is that benefiting you?** If I don't have a Templar from a previous case, Westlaw allows me to see a variety of different ways various attorneys in my state handle different formatting challenges.
