Trainual recently decided to change how we're able to categorize and organize our information with no feedback or warning to its users (at least not from my company). They are not giving us the ability to continue using and organizing our information in the way that we already have it set up. So basically we have to change our whole setup to make it work going forward. We're looking for alternatives instead. The mothly fees are way too expensive to be this limited in the use of the software and who knows when they'll make another arbitrary change that makes our account useless. Thanks for the candid review here. We’re super thrilled about the “great” part but obviously not about the “until it wasn’t” part.
First off, you’re right about the lack of timely communication leading up to the recent releases. That was a definite miss on our part. The good news is we’ve already made major adjustments to our communication process. Going forward, there will be advance notice long before any major program update along with guidance on how to prepare for it. You may have already noticed this in action as we help you prepare for the upcoming migration of Collections to Groups.
Speaking of which, you mentioned that you felt you no longer have the ability to organize your information the way you’ve had it in the past and that you feel you have to change your whole setup to make it work. The main organizational change we’re making is removing the Collections feature simply because is largely inflexible and limiting in what you can do with it. Here’s a quick video (link below) that explains why. Instead, we’ll utilize the new Groups feature in place of collections. The good news is these do exactly the same thing your collections did (grouping content), but the offer other abilities that collections didn’t have. The video above covers these abilities as well.
All that said, it’s clear you’ve taken meaningful time to organize your content in a way that made sense for you and your company, and these changes have caused a disruption to that organization.
