## Storyblok Reviews
  ### 1. Storyblok Makes Content Management Easy for Developers and Editors

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Program Development | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Storyblok?**

Storyblok is that it just makes building and managing content easier for everyone. As a developer, I like how flexible it is and how well it works with modern frameworks, so I can structure content the way I want without feeling restricted.

The Visual Editor is also a huge plus because content teams can see their changes as they make them, which cuts down on back-and-forth.

Overall, it has a really nice balance between giving developers the tools they need and making things simple for editors.

**What do you dislike about Storyblok?**

Overall I’ve had a really positive experience with Storyblok, so there isn’t much I dislike. If I had to pick something, it’s that there can be a bit of a learning curve when you're first setting up content models or getting familiar with all the features. Once everything is configured it does become much more intuitive and the flexibility is well worth that initial time to setup.

**What problems is Storyblok solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storyblok solves a lot of the complexity around managing content for multilingual websites while keeping development straightforward. The locale features make it easy to organise and maintain translated content without creating duplicate structures, which saves a lot of time and reduces the chance of mistakes. From a development perspective, the component-based approach and flexible APIs make it quick to build new features and iterate without fighting the CMS.

  ### 2. Storyblok stands out in a crowded CMS landscape

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Danielle v. | Manager Web Operations, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Storyblok?**

I’ve worked with many CMSs over the years, and Storyblok truly stands out. It’s exceptionally user‑friendly especially for non‑technical stakeholders — without sacrificing flexibility for developers. The visual editor makes content updates intuitive and incredibly fluid.

What makes Storyblok unique is that you can feel its origin story in the product: it was created by people who understand both web content management and development. That dual perspective is embedded in the entire experience. It breathes both disciplines, and that balance is exceptional.

Their customer focus is another major strength. Even as the company grows, their support team remains responsive and genuinely invested in customer feedback. You feel heard and taken seriously, which is rare in the SaaS world.

**What do you dislike about Storyblok?**

Nothing major overall. However, for us as a global team managing all markets, some of the more advanced configurations still require developer support.

**What problems is Storyblok solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We use Storyblok to manage content across multiple websites with many contributors. It helps us maintain consistency, streamline content updates, and give non‑technical team members confidence to work independently.

More importantly, it supports our shift away from a traditional waterfall approach. Storyblok brings content, design, and development into one shared environment, which improves collaboration and speeds up delivery. Instead of passing work sequentially, teams can co‑create in real time using the same components and structure.

  ### 3. Indispensable for User-Friendly Content Creation

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Information Technology and Services | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 12, 2023

**What do you like best about Storyblok?**

Our developers really enjoy working with Storyblok. The platform offers a clear and user-friendly UI, strong live preview functionality, and a solid underlying infrastructure. Additionally, Storyblok perfectly aligns with our component-based development strategy, allowing us to develop digital platforms quickly and efficiently. The available tools make developing for Storyblok pleasant and accessible, which directly contributes to a short time-to-market. The live editor, in particular, is especially valuable: content changes are immediately visible, allowing teams to work faster and be less dependent on development. The AI layer also adds a lot of value for our customers. Think of support in content creation, automated translations in the right tone of voice, automations via, for example, n8n, and vector-based search. This allows customers to create, manage, and distribute their content more easily, for example by automatically generating social media posts or automating publication flows. Additionally, the initial setup, configuration, and working with multiple spaces, localization, and new AI capabilities are very well organized. For us, Storyblok is therefore the CMS of choice: modern, flexible, scalable, and pleasant to work with.

**What do you dislike about Storyblok?**

Storyblok requires a good setup. Due to the flexibility of components, spaces, and localization, it is important to properly align and maintain the structure, governance, and content models.

**What problems is Storyblok solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storyblok makes time-to-market easy and fast, with a clear UI and live editor. It improves the experience for content editors and developers with infrastructure and automation flows, allowing content to be easily shared.

  ### 4. The Best Headless CMS for Developers and Editors

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Benedikt G. | Head of Technology, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 02, 2026

**What do you like best about Storyblok?**

What I appreciate most about Storyblok is the Visual Editor, which allows me to immediately see what I'm editing. This is especially helpful for multilingual projects, as you can easily switch between different display sizes. The accessible Developer Experience and the top editorial UX make using it really pleasant. Storyblok's powerful APIs replace manual development efforts and significantly simplify processes in content operations. I also find the setup super easy, especially with the helpful blueprints and excellent documentation. Additionally, there are now additional ways to easily set up a space via the API. I have already successfully transitioned from other products like PIMCore to Storyblok and highly recommend it. Particularly noteworthy is that Storyblok AI thinks correctly. Not just as an on-top feature but as an integral part, where it really helps.

**What do you dislike about Storyblok?**

The possibilities for expansion are currently limited. Space, Tool, and Field plugins already allow quite a lot. However, if I want to add functions in the interface itself, for example in the content overview, that is currently not possible. This is both a strength and a weakness.

**What problems is Storyblok solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storyblok offers an accessible Developer Experience and a top editorial UX. The strong APIs replace manual development efforts and thus simplify processes in content operations. With the MCP Server, we were able to optimize many work steps and achieve efficiency gains, resulting in an even faster time-to-market.

  ### 5. Storyblok empowers editors and developers with a fast, flexible CMS experience

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Edvinas J. | Engineering Team Lead, Enterprise (> 1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 04, 2026

**What do you like best about Storyblok?**

Storyblok CMS solved our biggest challenge: completely decoupling development from content editing. This separation empowers our editors to make updates swiftly and independently. Best of all, as we continue to extend the system, designers and content editors can build new pages and launch campaigns with little to no developer intervention. This frees our engineering team to focus on technical research, performance optimizations, and experimental features.

For our content team, the biggest wins have been Storyblok’s intuitive, web-centric structure - which organizes pages in folders matching the URL slug path - and its real-time visual editor.

From an engineering standpoint, Storyblok's versatile delivery and management APIs allow for extensive customization through custom field, tool, and space plugins. Leveraging the Storyblok CLI to execute local commands enabled us to build and run highly sophisticated, bulk content migrations tailored to our exact requirements. Furthermore, the ability to easily pull and push schemas has streamlined our CI/CD pipelines, keeping our entire configuration version-controlled in Git. Ultimately, Storyblok provides a vastly superior developer experience and superior performance compared to traditional, legacy CMS solutions.

Excelent long-term choice for growing companies and large enterprises.

**What do you dislike about Storyblok?**

One drawback is GraphQL performance, which averages around 2.5 seconds per request compared to the much faster REST API (500–700ms). Nevertheless, by leveraging a strong custom caching layer in our application design, we ensure our platform remains incredibly fast.

A notable limitation of Storyblok’s internationalization is the lack of native, per-page language gating, as all configured locales are globally applied to every story. To resolve this at scale, we developed an schema-level (in page content) configuration allowing editors to toggle available locales per page, rendering a fallback notice on the frontend for excluded languages. However, since the delivery API has no intrinsic awareness of this custom routing logic, managing referential integrity across localized hyperlinks is highly complex, making advanced SEO and cross-linking difficult to scale.

The Rich Text Editor uses a specific JSON format to save structured data. While this is great for clean data delivery, mapping this custom JSON format to custom elements or styling on the frontend can sometimes be tedious for developers compared to standard markdown.

**What problems is Storyblok solving and how is that benefiting you?**

As a headless CMS, it’s one of the best tools I’ve seen for content editors. The onboarding process is much simpler than in legacy systems, and content editors need only minimal technical knowledge to get started and work effectively.

Our product also requires heavy personalisation - by country, locale, coupon, query, browser, OS, and more - and Storyblok has been the CMS that enabled us to handle this and scale it to an extreme level. Because of that, our content editors can get very granular and provide users with tailored page variations.

**Official Response from Maria Baumgartner:**

> Thank you so much for your great review, Edvinas! We've taken your feedback on-board and forwarded it to product leadership.

  ### 6. Efficient Content Management with Remarkable Flexibility

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Robyn D. | Junior Account Executive, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Storyblok?**

I love using Storyblok for fast content updates without needing to interrupt developers for small changes. The visual editor is brilliant, and the flexibility within blocks gives my clients full control over how their sites can look. It also allows us to design sites for our clients effectively. These features make our work more efficient and help us impress our clients. The initial setup was very smooth, making the transition easy for both my team and clients.

**What do you dislike about Storyblok?**

The limit on assets is something that crops up from time to time with clients.

**What problems is Storyblok solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storyblok allows fast content updates without needing developers for small changes and offers a brilliant visual editor with flexible blocks for full site control, impressing clients.

**Official Response from Maria Baumgartner:**

> Thank you so much for the lovely review, Robyn!

  ### 7. Enterprise CMS solution that is intuitive, scalable, and cost-effective

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Storyblok?**

I really like working with Storyblok as they are very solution-minded and people-minded, which shows in their interactions with our agency and our clients. The solution is innovative and scales well, staying on top of the newest trends. They strike a good price-quality balance, especially compared to other large-scale platform solutions which can be prohibitively expensive. Storyblok provides a lot of value for the cost. The setup is incredibly easy, practically out-of-the-box, with an intuitive interface. It's fast, well-documented, and straightforward to work with.

**What do you dislike about Storyblok?**

So for us, maybe it's more of a positioning perspective. It's not necessarily the most known solution for enterprise. Even though I believe that it is most definitely scalable and applicable to enterprise complexity.

**What problems is Storyblok solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Storyblok makes content editing smooth and intuitive for developers and marketers, while offering seamless integration with existing systems. It handles complex organizational ecosystems and supports innovation with automation, making it fun, easy to use, scalable, and cost-effective.

**Official Response from Maria Baumgartner:**

> Thank you so much for the kind words!

  ### 8. Easy-to-Use Visual Editor That Boosted Site Performance

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Design | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 08, 2026

**What do you like best about Storyblok?**

Great visual editor, easy to use and easy to train our clients in. Versatile in terms of how easy it is to design for, and we've seen an uplift in performance for all the sites we've migrated across to the platform

**What do you dislike about Storyblok?**

There's nothing i personally dislike about Storyblok, and look forward to seeing the new features being implemented down the line

**What problems is Storyblok solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Out clients are no longer tied to an archaic CMS, they no longer have to continuously run updates, as this is all handled automatically through the cloud. The visual editor means our clients have no problem updating there own sites, meaning their development costs have come down

**Official Response from Maria Baumgartner:**

> Thank you so much for the kind words! :)

  ### 9. Intuitive UX/UI and Powerful Customization for Truly Limitless Websites

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Financial Services | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 30, 2026

**What do you like best about Storyblok?**

Easy to use UX/UI, great customisation options providing you have a good developer and makes your website truly limitless

**What do you dislike about Storyblok?**

For me there's not much however it is not a beginner friendly CMS and requires a lot of customisation and knowledge to build a technically and aesthetically great website

**What problems is Storyblok solving and how is that benefiting you?**

customisation is key and uniqueness in the market. Too often you see the same website themes from businesses using the same wordpress style websites and you find all websites look the same. Storyblok removes that as you need to fully customise your own website

  ### 10. Easy-to-Use CMS That’s Simple to Explain to Clients

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Marketing and Advertising | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 10, 2026

**What do you like best about Storyblok?**

I love how easy the system is to use. As a Project Manager I find I can easily demonstrate and explain to clients how to use the CMS for their website or review any problems they report myself, in the event it may be content related.

**What do you dislike about Storyblok?**

On rare occasion a client will review a piece of work on a preview link and share it with their team, which has resulted in site problems.

**What problems is Storyblok solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I feel Storyblok gives marketing and content teams an easy way to create and update content, while developers get the flexibility to build the frontend however they want.
