**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I find that SketchUp is very user-friendly and easy to learn. Being a graphic designer, I like the design of the tools and functionality. Plus, I rely mainly on Google and Youtube for tutorials and training, and there seems to be a vast resource of developers producing good training.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Two features seem to be missing.

1. You cannot add animated objects to your project unless you install a 3rd party plugin.

2. I can't add a video to projects; for example, if I have a TV in my project, I can't make it look like it's on.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Visualization - it allows me to create a project to visualize.

  ### 3. Most intuitive 3D modeling software, but slow.

It is easy to learn and intuitive. I love that many of my team members are able to teach themselves and we are able to develop concepts quickly in meetings.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

Once we get more detailed with models the file starts to crash! Even when I create components to try to save memory I crash just about daily when working on a model for interior design.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I am able to develop my designs into 3D models which makes it easy for non-architectural designers to understand the intent of the space and similar to what it will be like in real life once built.

  ### 8. Lego world for adults

Sketchup is an easy to use program that incorporates itself well with other programs to create the some of the most compelling 3D spaces for architectural renderings.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I don't like how difficult sketchup can be when it comes to creating curves or circles or having to place models equidistantly on a nonlinear path. Its material library is a little skant and requires additional plugins to make it good.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Sketchup solves the issue of an easy to learn tool for making your 2D drawings into 3 dimensional spaces that you can share with client or use internally to find the right asthetic.

  ### 11. Easy to work in and modify

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Stacy K. | Senior Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 21, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

I find it very easy to manipulate most of my 3D blocks in SketchUp rather than CAD or CET. Applying finishes is also a breeze and easy to do on the fly live with clients.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

I wish there were more 'fancy' rendering tools without needing plug-ins. I usually just import my sketchup into CET to get that professional look. It would be nice if I didn't need to.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Adjusting existing, pre-made 3D blocks to custom sizes or some other kind of customization without having to create it from scratch makes my life so much easier. It saves me so much time.

SketchUp is versatile, and the plugins expand the program further based on the specific needs of your profession. Whether you are a hobbyist or a professional, SketchUp is the easiest 3D software out there

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

SketchUp uses polygon geometry to create 3D construction. This can sometimes result in angular curves and messy imported models. There are great plugins that can remedy this issue, but the more geometry you have the slower the model works.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

SketchUp helps build 3D quickly and efficiently. Plugins are extremely helpful and expand the application's utility. I love the easy integration with rendering applications like Lumion.

It allows me to think through design ideas quickly and communicate those ideas with our internal teams and clients quickly and efficiently so that we can make descisions quickly.

  ### 33. Advantages of Using Sketchup for 3D Designing

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Syed Mustafa A. | Architecture and Interior Designer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 19, 2022

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

Whole Software is best, but its texture-applying method is excellent. You can easily apply textures and edit models without losing their properties. The second best thing is that its file can easily import and export in any other file format, making it easy to work with other software.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The rendering option is missing in Sketchup!! This action can be performed by installing different rendering plugins like V-ray and Enscape. The second thing is that it does not work in short keys like other 3D software.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

3D modeling is elementary in SketchUp, and I always use this software instead of any other. Before this, I used other heavy sofwares, and one of my friends recommended me SketchUp for 3D modeling. I've been using Sketchup for two years and always suggest others for this.

  ### 34. Great software for 3d designing 👍

Not many things I dislike about sketchup its great overall it's just that sometimes application get closed due to bugs and there is a chance that it doesn't recover the work that i worked on.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

For 3d rendering I use vray plug in with sketchup which really gives nice rendered image at last.. The good thing about sketchup is it's not complicated like other softwares.

  ### 35. Fastest 3d software for architects

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Gon Z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 22, 2023

**What do you like best about SketchUp?**

SketchUp is the fastest tool for architects. It is only second to drawing with a ballpen or pencil—a skill many are losing!

I primarily use the pen/Line and have configured hotkeys to switch between tools and navigate the scene.

1. The drawing tools guess what I want to draw and along which axis.
2. The camera changes its focal point to the nearest geometry in sight or to what I'm pointing at while orbiting.

Context: I've been modeling since Alex Bicahlo wrote the book on 3d Studio back in the 90s.

**What do you dislike about SketchUp?**

The mac version crashes too often, doesn't use the GPU properly and is poorly integrated with Enscape.

**What problems is SketchUp solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The speed of modeling orthogonal shapes and correctly applying textures save us considerable time

I was introduced to sketchup in my college days by my friend.
The moment I witnessed sketchups user friendly UI I was amazed to use it.

Designing was made easy and fast.
Importing and exporting drawings with no crashes ofcourse on high specifications devices.

There is no option to change a certain material to another, selecting similar material is also a problem in sketchup, although sketchup has live sync with lumion and vray it should have it's own rendering software which should render images quickly compared to lumion and vray.

Designing is a big and responsible task, hence thousands of things have to be taken care while designing so making multiple options on paper is a serious loss of paper and other resources which are harming environment, sketchup resolves the issue in faster and convenient way.
