**What do you like best about ShipStation?**

I like ShipStation because it makes it easy for me to print out labels, which saves me time and lets me put items in envelopes with a label on them, rather than boxing them. I appreciate the discounts I receive, as they allow me to expand my business by saving on shipping costs. This saving lets me invest back into my business, increase inventory, and offer new items or extras to maintain my customer base. The setup process was straightforward too—I just went online, filled out the information, and started shipping.

**What do you dislike about ShipStation?**

When I first started ShipStation, it wasn't clear who the discounts were available for, as in which vendors. But now it seems to be easier. By and large, just more discounts on all vendors. The more we save, the more we ship.

**What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ShipStation simplifies label printing and saves me time with easy envelope shipping. It also provides discounts that help expand my business by saving on shipping costs, allowing me to invest more in inventory and offer new items.

**What do you like best about ShipStation?**

I found ShipStation quite helpful with its variety of carriers, which made managing shipments easier for my small business. The user interface is very friendly, allowing me to compare prices across different shipments with ease. It was easy to navigate and toggle between features, and I got familiarized with the system quickly, within just 10-15 minutes.

**What do you dislike about ShipStation?**

I don't like their policy around having to load monies in the account rather than just paying for each shipment directly. For just sending one-off shipment, I was not able to charge it directly to my card, but had to load money on my ShipStation account. Now I have a carry-over balance that is of no use to me. It also was not easy to get an invoice for that specific shipment.

**What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

ShipStation offers many carriers, making shipping easier. Its friendly UI and easy price comparisons save time and help with managing shipments effectively.

**What do you like best about ShipStation?**

ShipStation has helped me to quickly automate the process of transmitting orders from my website to my 3PL warehouse, who's then able to pick and ship products efficiently and accurately using a barcode scanner. ShipStation's negotiated rates with the US Postal Service and UPS are competitive, probably better than I could have gotten myself. Their system also includes an inventory management system with some reporting capability.

**What do you dislike about ShipStation?**

Would be great if they could add negotiated Fedex rates. They have existing integrations / APIs for most website platforms, including for Opencart. Unfortunately, the integration for Opencart is out of date, and connects only to their shipping platform, it does not connect to their inventory management platform. I had to hire a developer to update their integration to make it work, as well as to write a separate integration to connect my website to their inventory management system. Their inventory reporting system appears to be missing tracking / storing daily inventory values, e.g. daily snapshot, which would be of great help for getting inventory on first and last day of the fiscal year for tax purposes.

**What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I was using a 3rd party logistics company that provided order processing and inventory management software. My website was integrated into their system. When they recently announced that they were going out of business with literally 10 days notice, I lost the shipping and inventory management software, as well as negotiated shipping rates. I had to quickly create my own system to replace the warehouse software, and ShipStation enabled me to quickly create a competent shipping for picking, packing, and shipping with an inventory management system.

I like that I can use this for internal order management tracking as well as be able to ship using multiple carriers in one website.

**What do you dislike about ShipStation?**

I don't like that we cant tie multiple packages with different specifications such as dry ice without having to split the order. I also don't like that once you enter an order, if it is misspelled you have to cancel and re-enter, a simple edit would be nice. I also wish it could accommodate UPS Premier service as well as DHL Medical Express, these are just not available yet.

The initial setup was very easy, which made getting started smooth.

There's a restart of info at every loaded page, so it's best to get to the last page and enter details there.

I like that ShipStation is easy to use and has a good amount of automation rules that I can build inside to automatically pre-organize all the orders that come in. The automation rules are great because with them, all I need to do is click on printing the label. The initial setup was also pretty easy.

I would like to have an option to build an automation that automatically divide 1 order that is over 50 lbs into multiple orders to reduce shipping costs. We still have to do that manually.

I use ShipStation for printing labels and organizing my shipping. It's easy to use with automation rules that pre-organize orders, making my process efficient. The automation lets me just click to print labels.

**What do you like best about ShipStation?**

Of all of its competitors, it actually feels stable and works as intended. Signing up and re-signing up after a lapse can be a pain, but it's the most comprehensive, stable, cost-saving, and professional shipping platform of the ones I've researched and attempted to use, as well as actually used.

Interface design is intuitive and user-friendly and thorough, and I like that it connects with Stamps.com and that it's easy to apply funds. There's been great follow-up from support staff and sales staff as well. I will happily continue using ShipStation when I need them. Their email communication is clean and appropriate. 

Their AI Intelligence integration probably still needs some tweatking, but I trust they'll figure it out. It hasn't interfered with my shipping process or meeting needs in any way.

**What do you dislike about ShipStation?**

Re-onboarding after a lapse can be a pain. Initial set up is also cumbersome, painful, and a pain. But somehow after all the steps, it's worth it.

Most comprehensive, useful features, great prices, very stable product and service, trustworthy and non-sketchy.

I feel it easy to use. The interface is very clear.

The method of creating shipments with multiple packages. Also, the fact that they did away with carrier insurance and force you to buy their insurance product. That boosts their profits but the cost to use Shipstation has not been lowered. Other providers force you to use their insurance and have the same UPS rates and their service is FREE. I am going to change to Pirate Ship or Veeqo because of this.

Shipping options are a strong point. The built-in shipping carriers, along with the ability to bring your own contract, are really helpful for both small and large businesses. Shipstation’s automations are also improving more and more every day, which makes the overall shipping workflow easier to manage.

**What do you dislike about ShipStation?**

Sometimes it misses sending the tracking info back to the connected system. It only happens occasionally, but it can be inconvenient when it does.

Shipping is made easy. Address validation helps avoid errors. The integration with Zendesk automates parts of our customer support operations. It also helps us choose the best and cheapest carrier to save on costs. Overall, it’s hassle-free to use the built-in carrier options.

I really appreciate the fair price of ShipStation. It's great that I can get immediate access to pre-negotiated rates for USPS, UPS, and FedEx, which are often significantly lower than the retail counter rates. These savings can cover the subscription cost when shipping a few dozen labels each month. Also, the initial setup was very easy.

I don't like the UX website design. It's too complicated to navigate

Linking ShipStation to your website and syncing orders is easy to do. It's easy enough to do manual labels.

Automation is difficult to set up without an expert. I often run into problems when trying to purchase labels, and the printer interface seems flawed. ShipStation Connect also doesn’t always connect reliably, or it has trouble connecting at all.

Poor customer service with long response times. Extreme price creep, especially compared to competitors. Remove features to lock you into their own ecosystem. For example, removing insurance automation rules unless you use their own insurance provider.

I used ShipStation when needing multiple shipping labels, and it helped with saving time making shipping labels. It was pretty easy to work with, and I really liked that it showed all the different prices for each shipping carrier. This feature helps us determine if we should ship via USPS or UPS. The initial setup was pretty easy.

I really don't like that we have to pay monthly. Everything seems to be subscription based these days.

I like ShipStation because of its convenience and how it streamlines all the retail orders to one location. It's easy to edit and use, and our shipping department uses it with ease as well. The initial setup process was easy with no major problems.

It is not integrated back, so when we edit an order, it needs to be edited in all systems. You also need to make sure you adjust the ship dates in the correct locations.

The software continues to innovate and update quickly. We have added several new businesses, and incorporating them into the workflow is fast and helps maintain our professional image.

We still occasionally need to kill and restart ShipStation Connect to get it to recognize our label printer and scale. I would like to see this resolved in a more robust fashion. When it works, it's fantastic.

I use ShipStation to ship out books through Amazon and TikTok Shop, and I find it very easy to use. The software automatically brings the orders into one platform and allows for the creation of labels very quickly and easily. The initial setup was very easy as well, and I found customer support to be easy to work with. I have no issues with ShipStation.

I haven't seen any new updates that draw my attention or are useful in our work flow but I appreciate things continue to work without having to change anything on our end.

Login issues haven't happened for a while, can login by going to the previous link now.

Being able to have 3PL fulfillment or have another company sell and fulfill their products directly by using automation rules, so there aren't much manual work to make these things happen on a regular basis.

They purchase many of the shipping labels through stamps.com which has caused several complications.  You need to browse through several web pages to see what you have been charged for the labels and to find cost adjustments to your shipments. This has caused problems with out accounting.

It good to have a single place that we are able to shop rates from several different suppliers.  Our organization uses it to ensure we are getting the best rates.

ShipStation hooks to everything and makes shipping easy.  I even like how much we save on shipping using ShipStation.  We use the mobile app and use ShipStation to verify orders as well.  Customer support is great at answering any questions we have quickly.  Setting up ShipStation was easy as it just plugs quick and easy in to Shopify and Amazon.  Simplifying the shipping we do on a daily basis.  ShipAtation has become a crucial part to our company.

Not everything printable is customizable.

ShipStation allows us to ship from one screen for Amazon, QuickBooks, and Shopify orders all at the same time.  It helps our warehouse staff to only need to look at one screen to know what needs to be shippped.

Really like the platform... when it works!  Constantly drops the API connection between it and my WooCommerce store.  Shopify got booted months ago, but I think that's more of shopify pushing their shipping service than anything.

Really on the fence whether I'll keep it.  I may drop my WooCommerce store and drop shipstation as well.  I think paying 9.95 a month is not too bad though, does come in handy when I was using it for both stores.  Also is one hell of an accounting tool when all of the sales are in the system.  Not anymore.

Really helpful on managing orders, plus having it for accounting does help quite a bit!

One of the things I love about ShipStation is its ease of use, from setting it up initially to its day-to-day operations, it has been very smooth. The quick shipment features, ability to create labels promptly, and securing good shipping rates effectively streamline our shipping logistics. It handles tracking and sends out confirmation updates efficiently which significantly helps with customer communication. The address validation and alerting our customers about the status of their shipments are very useful features. I value the quick calculation and purchase of shipping labels, especially from UPS. Moreover, staying competitive with pricing is crucial for us, and ShipStation meets this need effectively. I am also pleased with the reporting structure, which aids in our business management. We initially started using ShipStation when we were switching to using Shopify as our primary platform.  After looking at several other possible shipping facilitators, ShipStation was the only one that hd the features we needed to keep business going as usual.  Once you get the basics, it's fairly intuitive to use, and getting better.  We have negotiated our own rates with our carrier, and it's really simple to have those rates show up in the system.  Anytime I've called with a question, the customer support has been excellent.

**What do you dislike about ShipStation?**

While there are a lot of amazing reports, there are some limitations that are frustrating only because I know the data is there, it's just not easily accessible.  One thing I would love to see is an expansion on the "Shipment Count By User" report.  It would be awesome to not only see how many shipments an individual has gotten out, but also how many boxes, how many items, and how much weight.  We have such a wide range in our order size, that one person may get 50-75 orders out in a day, while another who is working just as hard may only get out 12-17.  Having metrics besides the number of shipments would help me establish a more uniform expectation of what should be accomplished in any given day.

ShipStation gives us an easy way to process our orders and accurately see what our shipping charges are going to be.

Additionally, I love the rate comparison feature, which allows us to compare shipping rates from different carriers like USPS, UPS, and FedEx. This functionality is vital as it empowers us to select the most cost-effective shipping options, ultimately saving us money. The customer service representatives are incredibly helpful; they guided us through a somewhat complicated onboarding process, ensuring our accounts like Etsy and Amazon were properly linked, which would have been challenging without their support. Overall, ShipStation enhances our shipment processing efficiency and helps us maintain a smooth operational flow.

I find the initial setup with ShipStation a bit complicated. Linking accounts like Etsy and Amazon requires customer support assistance, as doing it independently can be challenging. Additionally, ShipStation's inability to process master shipments is a significant limitation for us. With orders containing multiple boxes, we cannot provide a master tracking number for customers to view all related shipments. This forces us to process each box separately, unlike FedEx, which offers master shipment capabilities.

Its history . . . but that is now history.

I’ve been a loyal customer of ShipStation since 2015—nearly a decade of paying for their service without issue. But this past week has been a nightmare.

Out of the blue, all of our API connections stopped working, and we began receiving error 402 across the board. No notice. No warning. Just a broken system. When I reached out, I was eventually told I needed to upgrade to a higher-tier “Gold” plan—despite being well under the shipping and selling channel thresholds that supposedly justify that tier.

So let me get this straight: after years of paying for your service and building our workflow around your platform, you arbitrarily cut off API access and hold it hostage behind a paywall—even though we’re using a fraction of what we’re allowed? That’s not a “policy change.” That’s a cash grab, plain and simple.

To make matters worse, customer support was robotic, scripted, and infuriatingly slow. I had to talk to an AI assistant that couldn’t understand the problem, and when I finally got to a human, they repeated company lines about “new policies” and offered no real solutions. The support rep even admitted the usage didn’t justify an upgrade—but still told me to pay more if I wanted it to work.

This is a betrayal of customer trust and a shining example of how not to treat long-term users.

I’ve canceled my account and will never recommend ShipStation again. If you’re a business owner relying on stable integrations and transparent pricing, look elsewhere. There are plenty of other platforms that won’t pull the rug out from under you for a few extra bucks.

Shipstation is the hub to the wheel of my business. It integrates into almost all of my e-commerce channels and several of my shipping services.   It excels at managing in and outbound orders to my 3rd party shipping warehouse. I am able to focus on growing my business instead of operating in it. A key to my success as a small company.

**What do you dislike about ShipStation?**

While the software tracks my inventory, it does not help me manage it. I would really like to see a feature that alerts me to low stock, or the ability to manage my product packaging independently of the SKU it is attached to. These are processes I have to manually do at the time of this writing (May 2023).

**What problems is ShipStation solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Since I use a 3rd party shipping provider, I don't have to manage customer orders. My 3PL logs into my account every morning and sends out orders. It streamlines my process and gets the product to my customers quickly. I can also monitor my inventory and SKU so I know when to order more. There are also decent reports features that let me look at my last month's order volume to include how many times coupons are used. I use this to calculate my monthly cost of goods sold.
