**What do you like best about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

It's nice that PFL connects with both Salesforce.com and Marketo. I could easily manage 1:1 and 1:many sends in a coordinated effort within integrated campaigns.

**What do you dislike about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

Our team would have bennefited from more creative ideas of what's next in direct mail. We struggle to know how to mazimize the value of PFL. It would be great to bring back the Big Sky event for customers to learn from each other. Also, PFLs marketing campaigns help us to see possibilities. More campaigns to demonstrate capabilities would be great.

**What problems is PFL Direct Mail Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Most notably, PFL enabled us to send three deminsional mailers in bulk with trigger automation to coordinate with broader campaigns.

**What do you like best about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

PFL makes sending direct mail super easy for Salesforce users. The tool is very simple and easy to use, and being able to give multiple teams access and a quarterly budget to do their own sends when they deem appropriate has been a great advantage. We were also able to create different storefronts with different options for different teams, which has helped us better control where the budget is used.

**What do you dislike about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

We were excited to use the Address Verification feature, but, unfortunately, the inability to update the address info once the email request has been sent made it unusable for us. Additionally, canceling an order is not as easy as it should be.

**What problems is PFL Direct Mail Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PFL solves for manual direct mail sends. Instead of sales or client success having to reach out to marketing or admin to pull inventory and send something to a prospect or new customer, they can find them in Salesforce and initiate the send themselves. It also solves for

**What do you like best about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

I like that the product integrates with Salesforce and allows us to automate our direct mail strategy. What was a full time job and a huge headache last year, was fully automated this year. We saved a lot of time!

**What do you dislike about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

We use TMA app for Salesforce CRM. For one off sends, it's a piece of cake. However it is a little clunky when it comes to automating sequential sends. It felt like we were jumping through hoops to set things up. We did have a use case that was probably more complicated than most.

There are also limitations with the SF object types that are supported with the app. For our use case, it would simplify things if we could send to Accounts as well as Contacts.

All that being said, our PFL team  walked us through every step and resolved every problem. They helped us hit every deadline for critical mail. I would still not say that it is easy to use, but I do have full confidence that it will work and PFL will provide the support I need!

**What do you like best about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

The best thing about PFL is their people. They have a great team who was responsive and followed up with us when problems came up.

**What do you dislike about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

They have a hard time quoting costs. There were several times when they had to come back to us and let us know the cost was different/more  than they initially thought because they didn't think through all the costs. We were hoping to use them for kitting some materials and sending out cool boxes to prospects but PFL's costs were 5x what it would have cost us to do it ourselves. We were really disappointed in the markup on kitting.

It was nice to be able to figure out all of our direct mail and then let PFL handle mailing it out. We had a pretty organized campaign where we wanted things to be able to go out when people hit different stages in SalesForce and PFL handled all that for us.

**What do you like best about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

When we first evaluated PFL, we were looking to unlock a new and more meaningful channel to deliver marketing touchpoints around the lifecycle. PFL enabled us to create more robust multi-channel campaigns and to deliver unique experiences for both prospects and customers with attention-grabbing direct mail items. Even better, through integration with our Salesforce instance, we're able to automate the sending of direct mail kits while being able to track recipient statuses and attribute direct mail efforts to pipeline. Lastly, our CSM (Andrew Ashley) has been a true rockstar through the course of our partnership, providing continuous hands-on support and always offering new ideas and methods for helping us uplevel our direct mail strategies.

**What do you dislike about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

Nothing to dislike about PFL itself; support has been quick and helpful any time we've had issues in the past, the amount of direct mail ideas and items that PFL can source are endless, and our team has confidence that anytime a direct mail kit is triggered through a campaign that PFL is quick and reliable to get them shipped! However, direct mail has been a channel that has performed less than expected for us, but something that we continue to try to optimize and experiment with. Otherwise, PFL offers everything needed to effectively enable direct mail sends via marketing campaigns and sales enablement.

**What do you like best about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

In the year since we launched with PFL, our direct mail channel has scaled tremendously and PFL has been a crucial partner in supporting that growth. PFL tooling integrated seamlessly with Iterable and allowed our team to trigger high-volume campaigns with the touch of a button. The PFL team is available, proactive, knowledgeable and creative. We think of them as an extension of our team. Thanks to PFL's expertise and their support in continuous optimization and innovation, we have seen mailer performance improve 100%+ year-over-year.

**What do you dislike about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

Very little! Whenever there have been features that haven't worked for our unique channel strategy or with our existing tech stack, PFL has brought in solution architects to evolve their offering to better meet our needs. For example, they set up an integration with our project management system to automatically deliver mailer proofs to stakeholders to review for approval, and they have piped data directly into our data visualization dashboards to provide real-time visibility into mailer performance.

The platform integrates with our SFMC instance and allows us to seamlessly send large volumes of direct mail to customers and prospective customers. It's easy to use, and the team is very responsive and supportive!

At the beginning of the relationship, we ran into some issues with items not having the best pricing, and our team had to push to make sure our programs were priced appropriately and that we weren't overpaying. This has been remedied.

We use the platform to send hundreds of direct mail each month. It is so great having the ability to customize mail using variable data that is pulled in from our SFMC platform and not have to staff someone to physically coordinate mailing out correspondence. I also love the PFL insights platform as a way to track what has been mailed.

I have been working with PFL only a short time but I have been so impressed with their service and expertise in the industry. Caleb Upchurch, my account manager, has been so helpful in coming to the table with new, innovative ideas and is always looking to create win-win situations. Their software is seamless with Saleforce Marketing Cloud and they always provide resources when I need them.

There is nothing I dislike about PFL. They have been a top partner so far.

The PFL platform APIs campaign information back to our Salesforce CRM and easily allows to keep track of who has redeemed our direct mail kits to tie marketing attribution back.

The packaging of the direct mail kits themselves is top notch and the PFL team provides great support to ensure you are happy with the results.

Also, while the platform's user experience may feel slightly dated, it remains functional and efficient.

**What do you like best about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

PFL helps make the process of adding physical mailers to Marketing Campaigns much easier.  By providing Salesforce integration, campaigns involving email, phones calls & physical mailers can be automated.  This means that the coordination and manual steps that might otherwise be necessary on the marketing side are no longer a block to creating new types of campaigns or just evolving existing campaigns.

**What do you dislike about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

We run into production delays on the PFL side once in a while, although that is typically due to components of a mailer campaign being outsourced.  It is also important to be very specific regarding audiences, for example, international mailing requires additional time to be implemented and you won't have any mail going to Canada if the campaign is only designed for the US.

**What problems is PFL Direct Mail Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PFL handles the printing, storage and delivery logistics for direct mail pieces.  Offloading the challenges involved with print, storage and delivery logistics allows our marketing team to focus on the creative portion of campaigns and less on the details involved with execution.  Couple this with Salesforce integration and automation, and suddenly a small team can take on much larger projects than would otherwise be possible.

They also offer some creative mailers that can help to catch attention from recipients.

The app integration with marketing cloud is easy to use and I like that we can use our own salesforce data.  The use of variable fields is really nice and let's us do a lot of versioning within our templates.

**What do you dislike about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

I wish we had an easier way to see our mail templates.  We can see the fields we're mapping to, but it would be nice to see the live version going out to customers.  That way we can ensure there's no issues with the mapping or setup.

We're able to send automated mail pieces targeted around a customer's life cycle rather than a batch and blast approach.  We've been able to use dynamic fields to show different products to different customers based on their interests.

One-stop place for warehousing, fulfillment, shipping, kitting, reporting.

templated, not a lot of room for customizing your program.

**What problems is PFL Direct Mail Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I can provide a solution to my clients that is easy to use and allows them to have visibility into what the field is doing, what they are spending, what they are buying, etc. It also is a place where brand and corporate-approved materials can be housed in one place, making our clients look good in their organization.  I have an admin role to respond quickly to any concerns, run reports, check on shipments and keep my clients happy with our customer service. The almost real-time response I can provide is pretty unusual and makes me stand out amongst our competition.

PFL's customer-focused approach allows us to easily navigate the direct mail process and seamlessly integrate this initiative into our current work and alternative outreach/marketing methodologies.

**What do you dislike about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

As costs are always an issue these days, it can be pricey, depending on how many add-on services one selects, on top of the basic offerings. That being said, it is great that these services are offered but not required. Some companies require customers to select a package whereby you cannot simply pick out individual services to employ, but rather have to select a group of services - all of which you may or may not ultimately use - but you pay for regardless.

**What problems is PFL Direct Mail Platform solving and how is that benefiting you?**

PFL Direct Mail Platform allows us to partner with PFL's analytics team to employ a targeted approach to our direct mail campaign. Before partnering with PFL, we farmed out various aspects of the direct mail process to separate companies, which meant that aside from not being able to target specific households based on various demographics, we also were juggling multiple "balls" at once, as we had to manage multiple contracts and billing outfits simultaneously, as each was responsible for completing a specific step in the process.

The PFL platform is easy to use and integrates seamlessly into our Eloqua instance. The PFL team members/CSMs I have worked with over the years have all been fantastic! I appreciate the creativity that they bring when I am at a loss for the next great gift idea.

The PFL platform helps us incentivize our customers to attend our onboarding webinars, which is a win-win for us and our customers. We also use gift programs to give swag to our top-tier customers and partners. PFL integrates seamlessly into our marketing operations platform, so I can "set it and forget it."  Until I need to order more swag that is.

I like that you are able to look up the products right there on the platform and find what you need to send out samples for a patient instead of having to wait for a rep to send it out for you, it means the patient gets the product in a more timely manner.

It is allowing me to get samples of products out to patients without me having to go through a middleman and wait for a response that the samples have been sent, so the patient can get their sample faster.

**What do you like best about PFL Direct Mail Platform?**

I have implemented PFL 3 separate times, at 3 separate companies in the last 10 years. The Sales process is seamless, the handoff to Customer Success is seamless and the process to get the plug-in or store up and running is painless. As you can imagine prior to the pandemic budget was plentiful, but I never felt pressured to add to the offerings or like I had to spend additional dollars. It is easy to use and the responses from prospects and clients are always positive. Every company should have a direct mail tool!

I know PFL is currently looking into additional platform integrations for non Salesforce users.

PFL makes it so easy upload PDFs, prep for mailing and they mail quickly.  Love the process flow and urgency.

Nothing.  They are very responsive all the time!

If you need to create a tool for sellers to be self-sufficient and contact their clients beyond marketing tactics, this is the tool to use!  Always works and items are sent immediately.

With a sort of set it and Forget it integration, sending letter communications to new customers is so simple. This process used to take hours; gathering lists, double-checking them, and trying to send them in a timely manner was chaotic.

The idea of PFL is much better than PFL itself.  The costs associated with it are ridiculous for what they are offering, the fees are completely unnecessary when you can do the same thing from Amazon with no fee.

Communication, Fees associated with items, costs of items to send, and customer service were all extremely poor.  $5 fee to send a $100 Amazon gift to hundreds of people while sending it directly from amazon is free makes 0 sense.

The Marketo integration and ability to extend automated digital nurture programs with physical touchpoints. As automated "always-on" program replace the legacy event-driven marketing practice this add-on to not limit the reach of the programs to digital-only is a key component.

Integration via custom fields that need to be created in Marketo doesn't feel elegant - but in all fairness, it does get the job done well. So potentially there may be no better way to do this.

Definitely the value of this technology become unlocked with a good plan and creative ideas for tactile touchpoint. While PFL will help ideate and execute on those I'd recommend to set aside enough time to really think through the creative approach and the campaign strategy on how these high impact touchpoint deliver the most value.

Reaching members of our nurture audiences that do not respond to emails any longer. Not surprisingly many people (including myself) developed "email-fatigue" over the years and hence completely ignore any incoming emails. A tactile touchpoint such as a printed Gartner report with a Starbucks gift card to have a latte while reading the report - or even more creative kits - activated recipients, particularly on the decider / C-level that our digital email outreach just didn't activate. This led to some great leads that our BDR team could then follow up with and setup high quality discovery meetings with the appropriate personas for our solution.

I like that you can trigger a webhook to send direct mail via automation. This allows you to trigger the activity based on a variety of behavior activities (ie fills out form) or data value changes (ie: new customer).

I dislike needing to create a new webhook for each new direct mail program. Ideally, one webhook needs to be created with all potential fields that should pass through via the webhook.  Needing to create a new webhook for each direct mail program was  a mundane task that seemed like it could be avoided.

There was no easy to see the proof of delivery/output without working directly with the CSM. It seems like there should be a way to view the proof of output after a submission is made with the pfl command center to confirm the information renders on the printed piece / direct mail as expected.

PFL Tactile Marketing Automation introduced us to a world of automating our direct mail programs. If you don't have a lot of print/direct mail experience before, there's a learning curve to knowing what components, specifications, and needs there are for sending. We also didn't receive a book with all the different print options - like paper type, colors, formats, etc - until later on in our relationship. I believe that was just an oversight, but this would've been a very beneficial asset to have right away, to understand what options were available. Once received, this was a very useful resource.

We use PFL to spark engagement with our connections - for a variety of audiences, including prospects and current customers. Though everything is digital-first, people really do love something tactile and real. The PFL platform has an integration with SalesForce Marketing Cloud. It allowed us to be able to include a print entry into the journey.  Working with the team on the set up was helpful in understanding what we needed to do to map our configuration.  The PFL was helpful and patient when we needed to troubleshoot the set up in order to make it work.

I disliked having to remap all of the fields one by one. This was time consuming. Especially, when you have multiple journeys that are similar and using the same table mappings.

Also, I least liked that I was not able to revise the templates ourselves. It would require PFL hours in order to make changes to the template which includes any text edits.

What I love the most about PFL's TMA solution is how easy it is to set up and execute a direct mail campaign at scale. Sending a large direct mail campaign used to require a coordinated and time-consuming effort between our business and an external vendor. We used to have to build a comprehensive spreadsheets with our contact data displayed in a very specific way. Getting tracking numbers from our vendor was always delayed and we had our sales team using a Google sheet to find their tracking info once we had it. 

Using TMA I can trigger 500+ units of direct mail in an afternoon and have tracking numbers and tracking links pass right into my CRM and into the hands of sales. Seamless and easy. No more complicated spreadsheets or sending sales on a journey to find their tracking numbers for timely follow up.

It's best to have a marketing operations colleague help you set up yourTMA campaigns. PFL does an amazing job providing their own experts but this solution can get technical and it's always a plus to have someone who speaks the language of your CRM.

TMA has helped make our large direct mail campaigns much easier to execute from a Marketing perspective and easier to follow up on from a Sales perspective. Being able to automate the triggering of our DM kits has saved us time and resources, which we all know equals money saved. I love that PFL is our one-stop-shop for all our direct mail strategies since we also use SwagIQ. There are so many creative use-cases for TMA and I think we are just scratching the surface of what is possible when you look at direct mail through an ABM lens and use data to power your decisions.

Our biggest challenge is measuring month or month adoption and static content usage.  This reporting is not as seamless as the expansive reporting available for all other types of branded content.

Using the Personal Marketing Center we deliver approved branded content that Sales and other groups can use to communicate with our customers and prospects. Although we haven't completely launched with PFL yet, they have been a great partner to work with. In the past 6 months, they have always been on-top of projects that are in the  works and have kept in constant communication. The entire team has been patient and very knowledgeable on things my team and I were unsure about. They have really helped us along this implementation journey! The setup and quality of support along the way has been 10/10.

Since we haven't launched with them yet, I do not have anything negative to say. Everyone's participation and efforts have been great thus far. We still do our weekly meetings and both our team and the PFL team provides current updates. This helps both parties involved. Our only other issue at first was pricing, but it ended up being because we received the wrong quote and it didn't match what we originally agreed on. With that said, PFL handled it very well and got our new pricing to us right away.

I'd 10/10 recommend them for all your direct mailer needs! They provide a fast, easy, and reliable service. Our team is in the middle of launching with them and only have good things to say, plus their pricing is fair!
