I like their reporting - that's about it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Honestly, I dislike everything about Paycom. We switched from ADP to Paycom in January of 2021 due to wanting a more integrated system and continue to have ongoing issues. For reference, I have worked in Payroll/HR for 10+ years and have worked with other third-party HRIS systems, as well as in-house systems, and Paycom is by far the worse. It's not even the system itself; it's the team working at Paycom. Our issues started with implementation: it was rushed, and training was lacking. We weren't fully trained on half of the modules we purchased and have had to teach ourselves how they operate. Our first issues appeared with Applicant Tracking. We were posting jobs through Paycom, and they weren't showing up on the job boards. We're at the point now where we have to pay additionally to directly post them to Indeed and boost them for some of our locations. I have minor issues with the system itself, such as having to manually update position management vs. it flowing when a change is made, or not being able to know when a direct deposit is returned, and having to wait for Paycom to notify us. But some of the major issues we've experienced (recently) are:
1. Paycom not filing our taxes on time and incurring late fees and interest.
2. Our customer service representative didn't submit a wire transfer request for one of our payrolls, which resulted in almost 400 people not being paid on time and us having to scramble with our bank to get them paid on the afternoon of pay date. Paycom also didn't notify us they wouldn't be paid until EOD the day before pay date.
3. Our W2s for 2021 were incorrect and we were told it would take a week to correct. They then turned around and said it would take 6-10 weeks to correct. When we received the corrected W2s, they were still wrong and we were told they didn't have an ETA on when they would be fixed for the 2nd time.
Here are ongoing issues we've experienced with Paycom that are frustrating compared to other payroll providers:
1. You can never talk to anyone except your client service specialist (if you can get them). I have never once been able to reach my CSS by phone. There are no direct lines, you have to call the main line and ask for your CSS and they are always occupied so you get someone else on the team who has no idea what your issue is about so you have to reexplain your situation.
2. There is no direct access to any other teams in Paycom (i.e. tax team, garnishment team, banking team, etc.) You always have to go through your CSS as the middle man and there is always a back and forth that takes way too much time.
3. Direct deposit returns are a major issue. Paycom doesn't always let you know when direct deposits are returned and we've had to start having our accounting team check our bank account to verify when deposits have been returned so we don't miss paying employees.
4. We just created a spin company off of our parent company and the process was a disaster. Deadlines weren't met, positions weren't created correctly, Applicant Tracking wasn't set up ontime so we were manually having to hire people in the parent company and then transfer to the new company, and we continue to have ongoing issues that we are just having to fix ourselves.
5. There is no accountability with the Paycom team. Don't pay our employees? We are the ones who have to communicate and deal with the fallout. Don't file our taxes correctly? We're the ones who have to communicate with the state. Don't meet a promised deadline? Oh, we are sorry but that's just the way it is. The lack of accountability is appalling considering what we pay monthly for them to be a full-service HRIS system.
6. They don't understand basic payroll principles. I asked our CSS about a tax situation and why it wasn't correct and she told me employees pay tax where they live, not where they work, which is blatantly incorrect and Payroll 101.
Please, please, please do your research before switching to Paycom. Talk to other companies that are in the same industry as you and with the same number of employees you have. Do your due diligence and don't believe everything they tell you, because at the end of the day, they are a business trying to make money. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I like the ease of use. Very user friendly. Payroll Specialist a trained well and always helpful and friendly. I like when I call I get a live person that solves the problem you have immediately. The system is in constent use though out the day. I have used this product not only at my current job but at other companies for 8 years. When I first used this product back in 2013 I actually implemented the product and it was a great experience! I had a coach by my side the whole step of the way. Only thing I can think of is putting in holidays. I found it a bit aggravating. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Over the last few years, we have tried to move as much team communication as possible out of messy, tangled email threads and into a standardized, clear, user-friendly, easy-to-look-back-at portal. Through Paycom, we have successfully integrated our time keeping, expense reimbursements, time off requests, annual coachings, and much more into Paycom, and even developed systems for notifications that help quickly and easily keep everyone on the same page. The helpline and account specialists are fantastic. However, sometimes successful utilization requires knowing what you want and pressing through to get it fully built out the way you want it. Some perseverance and diligence is required, as it would be with any platform. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
It has enabled us to go paperless and automate so many aspects of our work. It offers a lot modules, is customizable, and makes it so that your employees are doing all of their own updates. Everything HR goes through Paycom -- expenses, benefits, time and attendance, document mngt, employee acknowledgements, ACA, reward statements, taxes, reviews, applicant tracking, compliance, reporting, etc. Our implementation back in 2020 was good -- they identified issues that our auditors and 401k vendor never caught. It's a very compliant and robuts system. I like our Rep and the team. The relationship manager is great. I Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The LMS is a bit clunky...it can certainly do what I need it to do but it could be easier to use. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
We utilize Paycom on a daily basis, for all aspects of our payroll and HR.
Paycom has empowered our company to be able to process payroll quickly and accurately, in a fraction of the time it would take to process manually. Employees appreciate the Paycom app, which gives them full access to their hours, pay, benefits and time off. We recently added benefit integration, file feeds to carrier, and COBRA, which has greatly improved the benefit access for employees and eliminated the need for manual processing of changes as employees are hired and terminated.
In addition, we have greatly benefited from our Client Relations Representative, who has spent numerous hours, in person and remotely, assisting our team with training and utilizing all the modules we have in Paycom, to ensure that we are getting the best return on our investment. There is nothing I currently dislike about paycom. However, in the past, when I have come across something that wasn't working the way we wanted, I was able to submit a development request for their team to consider for future improvements and I have seen them implement quite a few of my suggestions. Paycom's customer support is so good. They actually reach out to me more than I have to reach out to them. When I do need help, I call the support team and get immediate assistance. They are also constantly improving their software, without breaking things that work in the process. I couldn't be happier with my Paycom experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The cost is a bit higher than others, but it's worth it for the consistency, customer support and regular development of new features. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Paycom is the best choice in HRIS and Payroll systems. The information network that it contains gives managers and administrators a seamless plaform to organize and manage employees. Track trainings, timecards, accruals, FMLA, insurance and benefits, all of it! You can even automate time-off approvals and payroll processing! Customer service is easy to contact and very quick to respond. The integration process was very in-depth to make sure we had everything taylored to our needs and it was satisfyingly smooth. Your Paycom Specialist will work with you and follow up to ensure the best service. I use Paycom every day. We have been with Paycom for 4 years now and I'm so glad we switched. Paycom is so much easier to use and much more versatile than our previous platform. There is no lagging or missing information between HR and Payroll. Customizing what each user can see and access is great for different departments and management levels too. The workflows are great. Paycom is worth the investment. The best feature is the Reports. They have several reports already built, most of which you can customize and download in multiple different forms, such as HTML, XLS, or PDF. You can build your own report too, which is a blessing when it comes to administrative report needs. You can desing your own custom reports for governement reporting or insurance and benefit reports. I highly recommend trying Paycom! You won't regret it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The payroll reports are not uploaded in real time. Can't contact the tax team directly to review any open tax items. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Paycom is a comprehensive system that integrates a variety of HR and Payroll functions into a single, user-friendly platform. We are pleased with the abundant features available, including Talent Acquisition, Expense Tracking, Compliance, Reporting, and so much more. It really is a one stop shop for our needs. As a government sub-contractor, we have unique challenges. Unlike our previous system which required hours of manual work, Paycom is able to simplify the process without sacrificing results.
Paycom makes it easy for employees to navigate. The system's design enhances user experience and minimizes the learning curve. Thanks to this, employees can own their changes with minimal assistance from the admin team. I’ve had so many employees thank us for making the switch to Paycom. They feel more connected and comfortable with Paycom.
I cannot say enough positives about Paycom's customer support team. As our transition specialist, Aimee Flato has been beyond responsive and helpful. Her patience and outside the box thinking to solve our unique company eccentricities is beyond appreciative. She even took the time to personally train some of our most rigid employees. Getting their buy in was a monumental task, but Aimee’s gentle guidance had even them complimenting the new system. Their support has been instrumental in resolving any issues promptly and ensuring the system operates smoothly.
Based on our experience, I wholeheartedly recommend the Paycom system to any organization seeking a robust and integrated solution. Its comprehensive features, user-friendly design, and reliable customer support make it an excellent choice for optimizing operations. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
