"Simple integration, but the admin panel requires some extra functionality"
What do you like best about Paddle?

We find the Paddle service to be very convenient in the terms of simple integration, Paddle API, the option of creating flexible payment plans. The user interface of working with a specific subscripton is also convenient and simple. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

There are several points that can be improved, and they're as follows:

- there is no filter option in the Change Plan dropdown. You have to look for the needed plan manually among a thousand of plans

- there is no option to archive the old plans while some of the clients are still subscribed to them

- during the creation of the coupon, there is no option to apply it to more than a thousand of plans. You get the following error: “ Unknown: Input variables exceeded 1000. To increase the limit change max_input_vars in php.ini. in”

- the option of adding a payment plan via the API is in fact useless, as you can't add a logo to the plan in this way, so we have to do it manually

- each time after you edit a payment plan, you get redirected to the first page, and it complicates the process big time

- there is no option of sorting Subscription Plans by date - from the latest to the oldest or even alphabetically

Thus it is, in fact, impossible for a marketing manager to work with subscription plans via the internal Paddle interface.

Moreover, Paddle unexpectedly announced that they're going to close the affiliate split feature at the peak of marketing and holiday season. All last year we spent a lot of time and efforts to onboard about 1500 affiliates to scale the turnover of the program. It is really unexpected and frustrating. Response from Hayley Rodgers of Paddle

Thank you for your insight, Andrey.

We are glad to hear that you find our integration process simple and convenient, and appreciate the flexibility of our payment plans and user interface.

We're actively working on improving our Subscription Billing functionality, with some big upgrades coming this year. We will take your suggestions into account as we continue to develop our platform.

Near the end of last year, we communicated the decision to terminate Paddle’s Affiliates and Split Funds features in early 2023. We did not take this decision lightly. It’s not a core part of our product offering and since we have not focused our resources on maintaining and improving these features they have become subpar when compared to the affiliates industry.

We appreciate that you, and others, have been drawing value from these features, so we worked closely with some third-party affiliate platforms (Rewardful and FirstPromoter) to ensure easy integration with Paddle.

Please reach out to us directly if you have any further questions.

Thanks, Paddle.

"Simple integration, clear documentation, and responsive customer support"
What do you like best about Paddle?

Very simple to integrate and set up. The solution comes with complete and very clear documentation. I have dealt with the customer service of the solution several times via their online chat in the dashboard for various elements that I hadn't necessarily understood well: they have always been able to meet my expectations.

We use Paddle Billing very regularly to manage our monetary transactions.

We particularly appreciate the fact that Paddle automatically handles the taxes (VAT) to be applied to customers based on their country. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

We have had difficulties in properly customizing the customer experience through the various checkouts provided: notably the overlay checkout, which is not really customizable (apart from the text color). Similarly, some points are relatively opaque (such as the automatic reactivation of a subscription after a payment failure and then regularization, for example). "Comprehensive Tax Handling, But Lacks Subscription Flexibility"
What do you like best about Paddle?

I like that Paddle handles all global tax obligations and payment processing for Teslemetry.com. The integration with Profitwell metrics provides valuable insights into my monthly recurring revenue, cashflow, and trial conversion, which are really helpful. I appreciate how Paddle Retain helps lower my churn by adding an integrated cancellation flow and following up on delinquent payments. Setting up Paddle was easy enough, and the sandbox made testing simple. I've integrated the Paddle.JS SDK into my website and Paddle Node SDK into my backend service, which makes the process smoother. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

The structure of subscriptions is less flexible than Stripe, and I often have to design my products around Paddle rather than the other way around. Lemon Squeezy is more capable but also more expensive. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Streamlined Payments & Reporting, Needs Faster Support"
What do you like best about Paddle?

I use Paddle to manage payments and subscriptions for my software product. It handles billing, invoicing, and tax compliance for customers in different countries, which makes selling internationally much easier without having to deal with local tax rules ourselves. Paddle solves several payment and reporting issues I faced with other providers. With Paddle, payouts are more consistent, reporting is easier and cleaner, and it's easier to understand fees, taxes, and final amounts, which reduces back-and-forth questions and errors on the platform. What I like most about Paddle is that it takes care of the complex parts of payments, especially taxes and compliance, while still being easy to use. The payout and reporting dashboards are clear, which makes it much easier to understand where the money is going and avoid confusion. It saves a lot of time compared to managing multiple tools or providers. The initial setup was straightforward and reasonably easy, with clear steps to connect our product and payment settings. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

Some things could be improved. Payout timing can feel a bit slow at times, and there's not always a lot of flexibility around when funds are released. Customization options for certain billing or checkout details are also somewhat limited. In a few cases, getting very specific answers from support took longer than expected especially for more detailed payout or reporting questions. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"New businesses need not apply — undisclosed requirements waste your time"
What do you like best about Paddle?

The merchant of record concept is valuable in theory — handling global tax compliance, VAT, and payment processing in one platform is exactly what SaaS founders need. The documentation and API design also appear solid. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

Undisclosed approval requirements that make it impossible for new businesses to get approved. After a week in their onboarding process — fixing my refund policy within 14 minutes of their request, answering a detailed questionnaire — they rejected me because I don't have 3 months of payment processing history. This requirement is nowhere on their website, not in their help docs, not during signup. You can't get processing history without a processor, and they won't be your processor without history. Classic catch-22 that wastes founders' time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Easy to use and priced fairly"
What do you like best about Paddle?

I recently switched to Paddle after my previous provider started charging a hefty monthly fee with almost no warning. I found the changeover to Paddle to be easy (I had to modify my WP payment plugin). Paddle only takes a commission on my sales; it is clearly stated and thus predictable.

Update: I contacted support for a programming issue and they quickly pointed out how to solve it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

The commission is a bit expensive on small transaction amounts. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Response from Hayley Rodgers of Paddle

Thank you for your feedback! Regarding the cost, we understand that it may be higher than some other providers, but we believe that the value we offer with our all-in-one platform, including tax handling, risk management, and subscription management saves on cost. Please don't hesitate to contact us through support to discuss commissions.

"Plug and Forget Payment Infrastructure for SaaS"
What do you like best about Paddle?

We started using Paddle in mid-2021. The 5% fee seemed high at first but we went with them anyway. 4 years later? Best decision we made. We literally forget about payments because everything just works.

We have customers from all over the world and I never once had to think about VAT or tax stuff. Paddle handles all of that. Their support is great too - fast replies, actually helpful, and they help our customers directly when there are billing questions.

Their servers never went down on us. Payouts come on time every month, usually within a week after the 1st. When they acquired ProfitWell we got all these subscription analytics for free which was nice.

I've told other startup founders to use Paddle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

Managing addons in the old system was painful. Super manual process. They built Billing v2 which fixes this but we haven't migrated yet because it's a big change for us.

That's basically it. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Reliable Payments and Stellar Support for Global Sales"
What do you like best about Paddle?

Paddle provides a reliable, hassle-free payment platform with excellent global coverage. Their system handles taxes, compliance, and subscription management smoothly, so I can focus on developing my products instead of dealing with financial administration. Their support team is responsive and helpful whenever I need assistance. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

Overall, Paddle works very well for me, but the handling of discount codes in the web interface is quite limited. There is no support for discount code groups or for generating large batches of codes automatically, which would be very useful. I also suggested a new discount code type some time ago, but it hasn't been implemented yet. These are relatively small issues, but improving discount code management would make the platform even more efficient. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

- Easy and clean to use with all the functionality needed

- Easy integration with an existing web site - much easier than I anticipated

- Friendly and helpful support - they have never let me down Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

I wish the payment form would be able to gather company name and address or the customer Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Seamless experience with Paddle and excellent account management"
What do you like best about Paddle?

Our company has been working with Paddle for almost a year, and the overall experience has been outstanding. The platform makes it incredibly easy to handle payments, subscriptions, and compliance without having to manage the complexities ourselves. What truly stands out is the level of support we receive—our account manager, Jonathon Thorpe, has been exceptional. He regularly schedules calls with us, provides proactive guidance, and ensures that our questions are always answered quickly and thoroughly. This level of dedication has made the partnership feel smooth and reliable. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

There is nothing we dislike about Paddle. The platform has consistently met our expectations, and with the outstanding support from Jonathon Thorpe, we feel fully confident in continuing to scale our business with Paddle. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

"Paddle transformed the way I manage my business – accessible and easy to use"
What do you like best about Paddle?

Paddle is extremely useful for complete payment and tax management, especially for use in my SaaS that operates globally. I use Paddle as a payment provider because it solves a major pain point we would have: accepting various payment methods and multiple currencies worldwide, in addition to collecting sales taxes.

With Paddle, we don't need to deal with the complexity of tax compliance in different countries, as the platform takes care of all that for us. Additionally, it offers a very intuitive dashboard, which makes it easy to track daily subscriptions, received amounts, cancellations, and important metrics. The integration of Paddle into my platform was also extremely quick and easy, in less than a week it was fully ready for use by my users.

I use Paddle every day to manage subscriptions and payments, and the experience has been excellent. It simplifies the delivery of subscriptions and ensures that customers have a fast and secure payment experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

What do you dislike about Paddle?

It's not something I really dislike, but I believe Paddle could improve by offering customer service in Portuguese to enhance contact in the support chat, and the possibility of accepting payments via Pix. These improvements would be a great differentiator for companies operating in Brazil, making the experience even more practical and accessible for our customers.
