Data is loaded in Essbase in realtime. No time lag is needed to retrieve it. I also like its integration with other apps such as spreadsheet. The performance is fast. As per my knowledge, this gives the best dashboard experience. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Generally, it is used for financial purposes, but it is flexible to be used for other analytic purposes, like mathematical models, statistical models, and so on. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
The downside of essbase is the performance of calculation scripts. The script could take minutes if not hours to run and the debugging requires a skillset to understand Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Oracle Essbase is one of the most powerful business analytics solutions. One thing, I liked most about using Oracle Essbase is its flexibility & Rapid Deployment. Every day Oracle Essbase is providing new features and functionalities to the product. We could also use on-the-fly analytic models in our industry. In the Rapid deployment, Oracle Essbase doesn't take much time in installing, configuration and all, we can do it very easily in less time. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
I don't dislike it. But I want a few things to be improved. The Overall UI of the application is a bit consolidated. I think it should be enhanced. And, another thing is that Oracle Essbase is not beginner-friendly to understand and execute. But if you're into the Essbase, then you should try to discover it, it would be very much profitable. It is one of the best OLAP (Online Analytical Processing) servers which helps in providing an environment for using Pre-Packaged applications and creating custom analytic and enterprise performance management applications. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
One of the disadvantages of this software is that it is not very fast when it comes to extracting the data and in my opinion, it needs a better API. Also, there is a great need for proper documentation as there are a lot of undocumented commands. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The best thing about Essbase is that it supports a multidimensional database, which is one of the most used database types in large organizations. The UI may not be the best in the category but it has its advantage. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Most people say that Essbase lacks a great UI, that's true. New users might find themselves nowhere without any training about its uses. If carefully not handled then a simple mistake can be a nightmare for your organization. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

This tool is highly scalable. It can be customized to quickly dissect small to large amounts of financial or statistical data. The capability to save premade templates and automate them is fantastic. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Macros and other excel formulas often conflict with pre-saved templates. We're also seeing excel version compatibility issues at times. The overall UI is a bit dated and very technical when something doesn't work well. It would be better if we could quickly receive error messages that display possible fixes.
