BigMachines is very customizable and can be use for simple solutions as well as very advanced ones. You can also integrate BigMachines with several different CRM systems like Salesforce, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics and SAP.
Friendly and helpful staff.
Easy to deploy from test enviroments to production. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
Having experience from complex configurations I know that as time goes by it gets more and more difficult to maintain the system. There is a lot of code in library functions and actions making it a risk of missing out on things when implementing functionality. Furthermore, BigMachines executes rules sequentally meaning that the more rules you have the longer it takes to execute actions. I also find it hard to get a good overview without already knowing the system very well.
The Document engine is NOT good. The idea is good but it's both slow and low functional. If you want to make changes you have to make it a routine to copy the design elements at first in order to be able to go back when it stops to work. You have to be very careful how you do changes as well. I would rather recommend using the old XSL-templates. I prefer 10000 rows of XSL code over the Document Engine.
My experience is using BigMachines integrated with Salesforce. The systems integrate using web services. One thing that my customer wanted was to be able to create configurations from Salesforce without having to enter BigMachines and enter data manually. This is hardly possible and not recommended by BigMachines.
We have had big issues with performance. Large configurations can take many minutes to process. This could be a problem with this customers particular installation though.
Also the behaviour between browsers are not consistent, at least not for administrators and developers. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

CPQ database being separate fromo CX means we're spending time mapping data from CPQ to CX to complete the sales cycle and get reporting. OTBI can't "see" the CPQ data. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

The issue of having to create pricebooks in both CPQ and matching in Oracle. I understand that this will fix itself as CPQ moves to Fusion but it can't happen fast enough. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

I am working as an Oracle CPQ developer in a very esteemed organization. Currently Oracle CPQ market is also in Boom. Even salesforce tried to create/launch a software with same features (Salesforce CPQ) but still it has some flaws and customers are not willing to use that. I do not find any negative point except the CICD process. Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.

Sometimes Oracle doesn't work in few browsers like chrome. It always works on Internet Explorer and Microsoft edge. It should be compatible with all the browsers Review collected by and hosted on G2.com.
