**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sydney C. | Clinical Data Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 21, 2026

**What do you like best about Medrio EDC?**

There's a lot of useful 'tricks' in the system that I hadn't expected that will really make day-to-day tasks much easier. The making of the EDC has been an easy process and the team has made this experience 10x easier for us.

**What do you dislike about Medrio EDC?**

I haven't used the EDC much, but so far I haven't found anything that I haven't liked. There have been many solutions that Medrio have been able to accommodate, I don't think we've run into anything we couldn't do yet. Just a few things to adjust.

**What problems is Medrio EDC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Our previous EDC has had audit trail trouble and a lot of bugs that we've found. So far, we haven't found many bugs and I'm hopeful there will be less bugs.

  ### 3. Fast, User-Friendly, and Well-Supported EDC Solution

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Derek T. | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Medrio EDC?**

I really appreciate Medrio EDC for offering a fast and easy-to-use software to enter CRF data in real time. I also enjoy the support staff and the reporting features. The database configuration is simple and easy to use, which is vital for my work. I enjoy the simplicity and functionality of the Medrio EDC system. I also value Laurin Willetts' support and empathy as our Medrio partner for the past 8+ years. After trying out other competitors, Medrio was the easiest and quickest to configure a study, and the initial setup was extremely easy.

**What do you dislike about Medrio EDC?**

There were several features we identified that could be helpful a long time ago. These features have still not been employed. An email confirmation whenever data has been entered or changed within the system would be nice to have.

**What problems is Medrio EDC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Medrio EDC for fast, real-time CRF data entry, enjoying its user-friendly configuration and valuable support staff. It's the easiest software for study setup compared to competitors.

  ### 4. A Reliable EDC Partner for Accelerating CRO-Led Study Startup

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Chris S. | Director, Clinical Operations, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Medrio EDC?**

From a CRO perspective, Medrio EDC stands out for its ease of use/implementation and ability to support rapid study startup. Database build, UAT, and go-live are efficient and predictable, allowing studies to activate quickly without unnecessary rework. The platform is intuitive for both CRO teams and sites, reducing training burden and enabling frequent, day-to-day use for data review, query management, and study oversight. Medrio also integrates well with other clinical systems, which helps maintain streamlined workflows across the clinical technology ecosystem. Equally important, Medrio’s support and project teams function as true partners, helping CROs meet aggressive timelines while maintaining data quality and compliance.

**What do you dislike about Medrio EDC?**

For highly complex protocols or more advanced reporting needs, some configurations may require extra planning or involvement from support. Even so, Medrio’s team is collaborative and solutions-oriented, and these situations are usually worked through without affecting startup timelines or overall study delivery.

**What problems is Medrio EDC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Medrio EDC addresses common CRO challenges around delayed startup, complex implementations, and fragmented systems. By simplifying implementation and reducing training requirements, Medrio enables faster database readiness and quicker site onboarding, directly accelerating study startup timelines. Its reliability and ease of use support frequent daily interaction by CRO teams, improving data visibility, query turnaround, and operational oversight. Additionally, Medrio’s integration capabilities reduce manual processes and data silos, allowing CROs to operate more efficiently and provide sponsors with timely, high-quality data. Overall, Medrio helps improve operational predictability, sponsor confidence, and study delivery.

  ### 5. Easy-to-Navigate Portal, minor improvements needed

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Biotechnology | Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** February 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Medrio EDC?**

I don’t use Medrio as regularly as I did in the past, but I’ve always appreciated how easy and straightforward it is to navigate the portal and case report forms. I also like the CRF design and the availability of TEST and other non-Production environments, since they let you verify updates to the study build and forms before moving anything into Production. I’ve used this product for a number of years at a few different companies and across various studies, and I haven’t run into any major issues. Another positive is that Medrio seems to be committed to improving the product and occasionally asks for feedback—for example, I’m aware of, and like the idea of, the AI features they were trying to implement.

**What do you dislike about Medrio EDC?**

In the past, I occasionally ran into “timeout issues,” which hindered my ability to navigate after logging in which was frustrating because I needed to review data points at a critical juncture in the study. I haven’t experienced that problem recently, but I also haven’t used Medrio as frequently or as extensively as I did before, so it’s hard to say whether the issue has been fully resolved over time. Dashboards could also use improvement - although the system is designed to pull numbers based on the inputs provided, it sometimes doesn’t reflect or present certain metrics in a suitable manner that is more fitting for a teams specific needs which can sometimes makes it difficult to be fully reliable. Browse Data & Data Export filter options need some work - when updates were made for a study, the dataset outputs that were updated with a large no. of patients generated formats that are not ideal - resulting in me sorting and doing a lot of extraneous tasks to clean up the issues.

**What problems is Medrio EDC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I’d say Medrio meets our needs for the most part. In one of our recent meetings, they mentioned the tech team working on incorporating AI features, which I was excited to hear about, especially in terms of how it could make our workflows and day-to-day tasks on data reviews much simpler.

  ### 6. Efficient Data Management with Intuitive Interface

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ashok kumar O. | Principal Clinical Database Programmer

**Reviewed Date:** April 28, 2026

**What do you like best about Medrio EDC?**

I love Medrio EDC for its intuitive, user-friendly interface that makes data entry and study management much simpler. The flexibility in eCRF designing, edit check programming, and efficient query handling significantly improves data quality. The quick study setup process and responsive support are also major advantages. I find its intuitive interface particularly valuable as it reduces training time and minimizes data entry errors. Its flexible eCRF design allows efficient study builds with logical structures, while the edit check programming validates data in real-time, highlighting discrepancies early on. The straightforward query handling process fosters clear communication, enhancing the overall workflow.

**What do you dislike about Medrio EDC?**

While Medrio EDC is effective overall, advanced edit check programming and reporting capabilities could be more flexible. Data Visualization options are limited, often requiring exports for deeper analysis. Some administrative and bulk actions, such as mass updates or query creation, could be more streamlined to improve efficiency, especially for larger studies.

**What problems is Medrio EDC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Medrio EDC to manage clinical trial data efficiently, reducing data entry errors, and streamlining workflows. Its intuitive interface, flexible eCRF design, and effective query handling improve data quality and compliance, supporting faster and reliable study completion.

  ### 7. Efficient Data Access, But Needs Performance Boost

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Riona M. | Clinical Data Coordinator, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 27, 2026

**What do you like best about Medrio EDC?**

I use Medrio EDC for my studies to access project-related data, and I find it very user-friendly. I appreciate how easily I can pull out required reports, like the Query Detail report, with just a few clicks, unlike other EDC systems that consume more time. The system also generates automatic queries which help me correct data efficiently. The ease of access is a standout feature for me.

**What do you dislike about Medrio EDC?**

Sometimes the Medrio EDC is a bit slow while use even after having good internet connection which can be improved. Sometimes Medrio EDC takes time to login and also sometimes when pulling reports make take time to download.

**What problems is Medrio EDC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Medrio EDC for accessing project data with ease. It provides auto-generated queries for data correction and allows me to quickly pull required reports, which saves time compared to other systems. It's user-friendly and accessible.

  ### 8. The Medrio EDC Pros and Cons

**Rating:** 2.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Research

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Medrio EDC?**

The EDCs Pros:
1- Audit trail
2- ability to export to Excel.

**What do you dislike about Medrio EDC?**

Cons:
1. The user interface is very poor.
2. There are many system limitations.
3. Deleting data by mistake is too easy; for a system that handles sensitive information, this should not be the case.

**What problems is Medrio EDC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

1- For some records, we had to return to paper-based records. (Medrio actually complicated the records due to its limitations)
2- Most of the problems that are solved (which reduces the time needed for review ) need other extra tools and edit checks.
3- Medrio looks more capable, but unfortunately, I don't see that in the real application

  ### 9. Easy to Program and Implement Across Multiple Studies

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Pharmaceuticals | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** October 30, 2025

**What do you like best about Medrio EDC?**

We have used this across several studies and have found it straightforward to program, easy to understand, and simple to implement. The customer support is also user-friendly and accessible.

**What do you dislike about Medrio EDC?**

Most of the time, when you have a question, you are expected to check the Medrio Community Boards first to look for an answer. However, I have found it can be difficult to locate the information I need there.

**What problems is Medrio EDC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a small Contract Research Organization in the pharmaceutical industry, and this product has been helpful in capturing information from the sites more accurately.

  ### 10. Remote Monitoring Made Easy but Needs Inventory Management

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Jeff H. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 11, 2026

**What do you like best about Medrio EDC?**

I like Medrio EDC for its real-time access to data. Although it took some time to get used to the new system, since it's my first exposure to Medrio, I'm gaining comfort with it.

**What do you dislike about Medrio EDC?**

I'd like to see a means of monitoring or managing inventory for test articles out at the sites, to know when we need to send a resupply. It's also important to keep track of the number of doses on-site and projected exhaustion or total use of products at each site.

**What problems is Medrio EDC solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use Medrio EDC to monitor activities, issues, and adverse events remotely instead of being on-site. It provides real-time access to data, which I really like.
