## 8am LawPay Reviews
  ### 1. Game-Changer: Secure Online Payments That Integrate Seamlessly with Juris

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 31, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

LawPay has been a game changer for our firm. Since the pandemic, we’ve been emailing 99% of our clients invoices. Clients requested an online payment option. LawPay provided that option through their secure payment portal, which integrates with our Juris billing system. We include a payment link on our invoices, which provides a simple and secure payment option for our clients by simply selecting the link provided. There is a separate link to accept client retainers and send payments directly to your client IOLTA account.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

The only downside to 8am LawPay is when a client payment via eCheck is rejected for whatever reason, because LawPay advances the funds to your account as a courtesy, we must reverse the payment until the payment is resubmitted and we can repost the transaction. It's a nice option that they offer but I'd rather the transaction be confirmed and paid before it's available in our account. This has happened only a few times in the years when been using LawPay.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The 8am LawPay online payment option has saved us hours of work. We no longer have to take client phone calls if they request to pay by credit card. We don’t have to store their credit card information in a locked cabinet. Instead, all credit card information is saved on LawPay’s secured portal. They also have the option to pay securely by eCheck.

  ### 2. Easiest Payment Processing with Some Room for Improvement

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joseph H. | Owner, Consumer Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 24, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I find 8am LawPay to be a pretty easy-to-use website, which I appreciate. I'm able to make payment schedules and send out links to clients, which is quite useful. It gives me a variety of ways to get payments done, making the process more efficient. Also, the initial setup was pretty easy, they made it easy to handle, which I liked.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

You could use a little bit of improvement with some of the more complex payment plans giving you additional editing capabilities. It doesn't let you personalize it a 100%. And sometimes on the payment plans, if a card gets declined, it'll continue going on counting that week in that amount, to the final balance even though the money didn't actually get paid. Sometimes you have to go back if a client's card gets declined and charge them again, and make sure you have your own accounting follow-up on the unpaid balance.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use 8am LawPay for credit card processing, allowing clients to pay effectively. It's easy to use, provides a variety of payment options, and lets me schedule payments and send links to clients.

  ### 3. All-in-One Billing Solution with Room for Improved AI Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Rob Z. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 13, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I find 8am LawPay convenient because it makes it easier to accept payments without having to wait for mail payment. Everything's all in one package, with payments and invoicing together, and it gives clients the option of financing with the Affirm button, so I can get paid right away. My clients seem to like it, and I've never had any complaints about the system, which is important for keeping them happy. It's a good basic 'meat and potatoes' type program that gets you paid sooner. It is a big help with trust account management. I would definitely recommend it as it's easy to use, and I've even told some of my colleagues about it, with some already signing up.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I do think that some of the things are hard to find. The AI chat help could be improved A LOT. For example, I was preparing a final bill and was trying to figure out how to deduct what was left in the trust account from the final bill, and I just couldn't remember how. This seems made for an AI answer, but it couldn't help me, and it was a weekend, so I had to wait until Monday morning to speak to a live person and even she had to ask someone. You tout yourself on trust fund management, this should have been easy.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use 8am LawPay for billing and invoicing, making it easier to accept payments without waiting for mail. It consolidates payments and invoicing, offers financing options so I get paid immediately, and helps with trust account management, which is important.

  ### 4. Easy Payments, Smooth Integrations, and Responsive Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Sara B. | President, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** March 30, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

The ease of payment and the integration with other systems make LawPay great! I also appreciate the different ways to request payment from clients, and how simple it is to send payment requests. LawPay is used daily in our firm. The few times I’ve reached out to customer service have been great as well—my questions were answered promptly.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

Our previous payment processor deposited payments into our account almost in real time, and never later than 24 hours. It was a big adjustment when we first signed up for LawPay and realized deposits typically took 48–72 hours to arrive.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

When I logged into LawPay today, I saw a banner stating that payments will be deposited within 24 hours. That’s going to be really helpful for forecasting incoming payments and planning business expenses from our operating account.

  ### 5. Simplifies Payments for Law Practices

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Halima N. | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I use 8am LawPay to process payments for my law practice. I like that it makes it easy for clients to pay for services and allows them to make repeat payments or pay over time. I appreciate that payments can be made directly to my operating or trust account, which saves me time because I don't have to move payments manually from the operating account to the trust account. The setup was extremely simple.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

The fees are a bit high, and I can't have multiple operating accounts on file for the funds to be deposited to.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

8am LawPay makes it easy for clients to pay for services and facilitates repeat payments. It saves me time by allowing payments directly to my operating or trust account, eliminating the need to transfer between accounts.

  ### 8. Great Cosmolex Integration and Built-In Compliance

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Melanie L. | CFO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 15, 2026

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I like the integration with various platforms, in our case, Cosmolex. I also like they way the platform keeps you in compliance. For the most part, the platform is easy to use.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I honestly preferred LawPay before the merger/buyout with 8am. It was much more customer oriented and I liked the website better. I do not like going through a long menu to get in touch with a support person and then be on hold for endless amounts of time.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I love the scheduled transactions. This has helped us with clients that need to be on a payment plan and pay every month or couple of weeks. I also love that our clients can click a payment link and the payment immediately shows up in our accounting system.

  ### 9. Seamless Payments for Law Firms

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eric M. | Senior Partner, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 09, 2026

I like the ease of use with 8am LawPay. It's convenient and easy to use, and my clients have not raised any issues using the platform. I also appreciate that it provides a safe portal to collect credit and debit card payments and offers a payment plan solution. It's great that it integrates with Clio, which I use to manage my client files and practice management process. The initial setup had no issues whatsoever.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

I think same day payment processing would be excellent.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

I use 8am LawPay to send invoices and process payments for my law firm. It provides a safe portal for collecting card payments and offers a payment plan solution, making it convenient and easy for clients to use.

  ### 10. Law Pay is THE payment option for lawyers

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Verified User in Law Practice | Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** November 30, 2021

**What do you like best about 8am LawPay?**

I love how simple it is to use. I also love that it allows for the separation of your Operating and Trust accounts, so there is no confusion or commingling of funds. They have recently added several new features to make it even more easy for both the lawyer/law firm and the clients to use the platform. I am so glad I signed up several years ago.

**What do you dislike about 8am LawPay?**

There isn't (or at least I haven't found) a spell-check feature. When I'm creating time entries and then when generating invoices for billing, I don't see where you can spell check your entries.

**What problems is 8am LawPay solving and how is that benefiting you?**

With Law Pay's payment scheduler, I am having fewer issues with collections than I used to have. Clients can schedule payments on their terms.
