## About Iru
Iru is an AI-powered IT and security platform designed to help organizations secure their users, applications, and devices in an increasingly complex digital landscape. Tailored for the AI era, Iru integrates identity and access management, endpoint security, and compliance automation into a single cohesive solution. This unification streamlines operations, allowing IT and security teams to regain control and allocate their time more effectively. Targeted at fast-growing companies, Iru addresses the challenges faced by IT and security professionals who often juggle multiple tools and systems. The platform is particularly beneficial for organizations that require robust security measures while maintaining agility and efficiency. Use cases include managing user access across various applications, ensuring device security, and automating compliance processes, all of which are critical in today’s fast-paced business environment. At the heart of Iru is the Iru Context Model, which provides a dynamic overview of the organization’s environment by continuously monitoring users, devices, and applications in real-time. Complementing this model is Iru AI, an intelligent layer that transforms live data signals into actionable insights, orchestrates necessary actions, and maintains a comprehensive audit trail. This integration enhances policy enforcement, automates response mechanisms, and simplifies compliance, making it easier for organizations to adhere to regulatory requirements. One of Iru's standout features is its single endpoint agent, which manages and secures every device within an organization’s fleet. By implementing passwordless access through device-bound passkeys linked to device posture, Iru creates a trust fabric that strengthens security between users and devices. Additionally, compliance is continuously monitored with customized controls and an Adaptive Evidence Map that updates automatically, reducing the burden on IT teams and minimizing the risk of oversight. Iru aims to bring clarity and control back to overwhelmed IT and security teams by consolidating disparate tools into one unified platform. This shift allows teams to transition from reactive firefighting to proactive strategic initiatives that drive business success. The result is a more robust security posture, simplified workflows, and outcomes that align with organizational goals, ultimately fostering a safer and more efficient operational environment.

## Iru Reviews
 ### 1. Intuitive, Powerful Endpoint Management That Is Getting Better

**Rating:** 4.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Eli M. | Manager, IT, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** July 06, 2026

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Over the past few years, I've watched Iru grow from a fairly basic MDM into a comprehensive endpoint management platform without losing the simplicity that made it easy to adopt in the first place. The interface remains intuitive, while features like zero-touch deployment and self-service give end users greater autonomy and reduce the burden on IT.

The built-in templates for Library Items and Blueprints make implementation and ongoing management much easier, especially for teams new to MDM. With the addition of EDR and continued expansion of its capabilities, Iru has evolved into a centralized platform for managing security, automation, and device lifecycle across mixed operating system environments rather than serving as just another configuration management tool.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Reporting and filtering capabilities could be better, more granular in what you can do. Also, smart groups capabilities instead of just using assignment mapping would make for a more robust feature, especially when needing to segment and or isolate a specific part of your fleet for any number or reasons.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Iru helps solve the challenge of managing a mixed OS fleet from a single pane of glass, which in turn saves a significant amount of time instead of having to manage and juggle separate tools for different platforms.

 ### 2. Mac management without the Jamf effort

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kay N. | IT Operations Manager, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** June 17, 2026

**What do you like best about Iru?**

I have managed Macs before, back then with Jamf, and even successfully completed both courses (Jamf 100 and Jamf 200) with certification. Nevertheless, Jamf always remained complicated. Iru is the opposite. It is largely self-explanatory, you can get into it quickly and operate it safely without long training. At Healthii, we have been managing our MacBooks with Iru (formerly Kandji) since day one, and what convinces me the most is the combination of complete freedom and simultaneous simplicity. I can do everything remotely, and so far it has run reliably and without errors. This is particularly important for us because our fleet is distributed across Germany and abroad, so a functioning remote tool is crucial. Thanks to Iru, I can manage the entire MacBook fleet on my own. The support and my contacts have always been easily reachable and very helpful.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Recently, we have been managing iPads and Windows laptops in addition to Macs. Our setup is unusual in this regard. We manage the Windows devices completely without Active Directory or Entra ID because we primarily rely on macOS and only use Windows where it is unavoidable. We greatly appreciate that Iru even allows us to bring these few Windows devices under some level of management. Previously, they were completely unmanaged, but now we at least have a basic level of standardization, control, and security, which is very valuable to us.
However, the Windows support is noticeably newer and more limited in functionality compared to macOS. You can't do nearly as much as with the Apple devices. Since the function is new to us, I can't yet provide any long-term experience with it. There are specific functions I would wish for over time, such as native storage of BitLocker recovery keys (Key Escrow) and support for custom CSP or OMA-URI profiles. For the moment, it is still very useful to at least have basic control over otherwise unmanaged Windows devices, and I hope that the Windows functionality will continue to grow.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before Iru, the challenge was to manage an Apple fleet distributed across Germany and abroad with a very small team. I had previously worked with Jamf, but it was so complex that working quickly and securely always required effort. With Iru, I can manage our entire MacBook fleet alone and completely remotely, including onboarding, configuration profiles, security settings, and scripts, and so far it has run reliably and flawlessly. The result is that a distributed Apple fleet is managed by a single person, without dedicated MDM personnel, and that remote changes, which were previously a hurdle, are now routine.
The second problem that Iru solves for us is our few Windows devices. We operate them completely without Active Directory or Entra ID, as we are primarily a macOS house and only use Windows where it is unavoidable. Previously, these devices were practically unmanaged. With Iru, we now have a basic level of standardization, control, and security, including enrollment, configuration, and script-based hardening, without having to set up our own Windows management environment. The Windows functionality is newer and more limited than macOS, but the benefit is real. Devices that were previously a blind spot are now at least under basic management.

 ### 3. Enterprise-Grade Device Management Without the Complexity

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan O. | CTO, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 25, 2026

**What do you like best about Iru?**

At Humanitix, we're a not-for-profit event ticketing platform with a small but growing team spread across Australia, New Zealand, the US, and the UK. Like many organisations scaling quickly, we needed a way to manage our devices without adding significant overhead

Rolling out an MDM solution can feel daunting, but Iru made the onboarding process genuinely straightforward. We were up and running quickly without needing dedicated IT resources to hold the whole thing together.

Day-to-day management has been equally smooth. The interface is clean, the automation features reduce manual work, and we have confidence that our machines are consistently configured and secure — something that matters a great deal when you're handling customer and event data across multiple markets.

For a lean team like ours, Iru strikes the right balance: enterprise-grade device management without the enterprise-grade complexity. It's made our computers easier to manage, our security posture stronger, and our IT team's life considerably simpler with slowing the team down

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

The only downside was getting buy in from staff but after a trail they were happy to move forward

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Iru helps us easily manage and secure our devices

 ### 4. Iru’s Robust MDM: Intuitive UI, Lightweight Agent, and World-Class Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Kevin B. | Information Technology Specialist, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Iru makes me look like a superhero with their robust MDM solution, extremely intuitive UI, and world-class support engineers ready to think out of the box and support your every need. They make my job incredibly easy to administer my endpoints, engineer custom solutions, and satisfy compliance and security requirements. I can guarantee that you won't have a better overall experience with any other MDM/EDR solution.

Integrations and User Experience
Iru's integrations with Okta Device Trust, their automated enrollment (OOBE), and custom branding allow me to have secure, user-friendly devices that I have complete management of. It doesn’t just "talk" to Okta; it lives within our identity flow. By leveraging the Iru Trust Fabric, we’ve achieved a true Zero Trust state where device posture directly dictates access decisions. My users get a "white-glove" enrollment experience that feels like a premium company benefit rather than a security hurdle.

Performance and AI Intelligence
The performance is where Iru really wins. Unlike legacy EDRs that hog system resources, Iru’s single, lightweight agent is virtually invisible. I get deep behavioral detection and real-time remediation without a single complaint about CPU spikes. This is all powered by the Iru AI engine, which isn't just a buzzword—it’s a force multiplier. It uses predictive modeling to kill malicious processes before they execute and automatically maps our live configurations to compliance frameworks like SOC2. It’s like having a senior security engineer and a compliance auditor working for me 24/7.

Pricing and ROI
While Iru is a premium investment, the ROI is massive because of tool consolidation. We collapsed our stack, firing separate vendors for EDR and vulnerability management and folding them into this one platform. We didn't just save on licenses; we gained back hundreds of hours of engineering time. The automation allows me to manage an entire global fleet with the efficiency of a much larger team, making the total cost of ownership incredibly low.

The "Superhero" Support
My favorite part of the experience is the support. They answer my calls immediately and are all very knowledgeable about their product, often going above and beyond to help create out-of-the-box solutions for my unique needs. In an era where most companies are moving toward frustrating automated chatbots, Iru provides immediate, expert human engineers who act as a literal extension of my own team. They don't just solve tickets; they help you engineer the future of your fleet.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

If I have one gripe, it’s that Iru’s Apple roots still show through occasionally. While their expansion into Windows management is moving at a breakneck pace, the Windows side of the house doesn't yet have the same 1:1 'magic' feeling that the macOS Blueprints have. I find myself occasionally reaching for custom scripts for Windows tasks that would be a simple toggle on a Mac. I’m obsessed with the platform, so I just want the Windows experience to hurry up and catch up to the masterclass they’ve built for Apple.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

The "Agent Fatigue" and Tool Sprawl:
Before Iru, I had to juggle separate agents for MDM, EDR, and Vulnerability Management. It was a nightmare of conflicting software and high system overhead. Iru solves this by collapsing the entire stack into a single, lightweight agent that handles everything from enrollment to threat containment.

The Identity Gap:
Most MDMs treat identity as an afterthought. Iru solves the disconnect between "who the user is" and "how healthy the device is." By integrating natively with Okta Device Trust, it ensures that a user can only access corporate apps if their device is managed and fully compliant in real-time.

Manual Remediation Drudgery:
I used to spend hours manually patching apps or chasing down CVEs. Iru’s Auto Apps and AI-powered autonomous remediation close the loop automatically—detecting a vulnerability and pushing the patch without me ever having to touch a ticket.

Complex Compliance Audits: Mapping technical settings to rigid frameworks like SOC2 or ISO 27001 used to be a manual spreadsheet exercise. Iru solves this with its Adaptive Evidence Mapping, which automatically collects and maps live device data to compliance controls.

My favorite benefit is that my Slack isn't blowing up with complaints. Between the silent, low-impact agent and the seamless OOBE (Out-of-Box Experience), the technology stays out of the users' way. They get a premium, branded experience from the moment they unbox their device, which makes the IT department look like a world-class service organization.

 ### 5. A Reliable Solution for Structured IT Asset Governance

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Emanuele M. | Cloud Engineer, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 14, 2026

**What do you like best about Iru?**

What I like best about Iru is the centralized visibility it provides over IT assets and software licenses. It simplifies tracking across servers, virtual machines, and user environments, reducing the need for manual spreadsheets and fragmented tools.

The reporting features are particularly valuable for audits and compliance checks, and the alerting system helps proactively identify potential licensing or configuration issues.

Overall, it saves time, improves governance, and brings more structure to IT asset management processes.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

Some advanced configurations and integrations require a bit of time to fully understand, especially in more complex IT environments. The initial setup could be more guided for first-time users.

Additionally, while the interface is clean, more customization options for dashboards and filtering would improve usability for larger infrastructures.

Overall, these are areas for improvement rather than major issues, but enhancing onboarding and UI flexibility would make the experience even better.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Iru helps solve the problem of fragmented and manual IT asset and license tracking. Before using it, maintaining visibility over servers, virtual machines, and software licenses required spreadsheets and multiple tools, which increased the risk of inconsistencies and compliance gaps.

With Iru, everything is centralized and structured. It provides clear reporting and better traceability, which is particularly beneficial during audits and internal reviews.

This has reduced manual work, improved accuracy in license management, and increased confidence in our compliance posture. It also helps proactively identify potential issues before they become operational or financial risks.

 ### 6. Best-in-Class Support from True Mac Experts

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Laurel D. | Head of Operations and Expansion, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** May 13, 2026

**What do you like best about Iru?**

The support and ease of the platform. I spend a lot of my job talking with different support agents and teams, and Iru's is by far the best. Being able to talk with not only a real person, but a true Mac expert has been huge when I've needed support with the platform!

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

When the change from Kandji to Iru was made, the only thing that I disliked was when our renewal came around, the price increase with Iru was not discussed with us before we had the opportunity to inquire why we could not keep our original rate. In the end we were able to chat with our Iru rep and it was all fine!

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We are a fully remote, global team. Iru allows us to have maximum security across our devices not only to protect our employees, but also our clients. It ensures our clients know their information is safe with our team.

 ### 7. Easy to Use MDM

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Richard P. | IT Manager, Mid-Market (51-1000 emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** January 10, 2024

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Easy to implement and manage on the IT side. Iru is easy to navigate, easy to manage integrations, and easy to manage individual devices. They easily integrate with all the main tools we have in our tech stack and don't drag down the performance of our devices. I've always had great support from Iru - from the sales side all the way to the technical side.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

There aren't really any things that I dislike. There are some areas that could be improved, but overall, they've taken feedback and implemented it well over time.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

We needed an easy to deploy and manage MDM solution. We migrated from another MDM to Iru because it was easier to use and easier to manage things like patching/updates. This gives us the peace of mind of knowing that all of our user devices are staying compliant with our policies.

 ### 8. Mac-Friendly MDM with Seamless Apple Business Manager Setup and Outstanding Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Ryan T. | IT Manager, Information Technology and Services, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 29, 2026

**What do you like best about Iru?**

Iru is clearly built with Mac environments in mind, and that’s been a huge win for us. As a fully remote workers’ comp insurance company, we needed something that simply works without a lot of overhead—and Iru delivers. The MDM capabilities are robust while still being easy to manage, and the interface is clean and intuitive.

Its connection with Apple Business Manager makes deploying apps and provisioning devices incredibly straightforward, which is especially helpful for remote onboarding. I’m also able to manage and deploy Microsoft 365 apps across our fleet seamlessly, without friction. On top of that, their team went a step further and helped us build custom scripts to enforce additional tools like remote screen-sharing software and cloud storage sync utilities. That flexibility, along with the hands-on support, was genuinely appreciated—particularly during our onboarding process.

Overall, onboarding new users and devices is very smooth, and their chat and tech support are fast, helpful, and knowledgeable. That makes a real difference in day-to-day operations.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

There’s not much to complain about so far. As with any platform, there are always small features I wish were included in the price, but nothing that has impacted our day-to-day operations.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Iru has completely transformed how we manage IT for a fully remote team. I’m the only IT resource supporting ~50 employees, and before Iru, everything was manual: screen-sharing into individual machines to troubleshoot issues, fix user mistakes, run updates, and make sure devices stayed compliant with our standards. It was time-consuming and not scalable.

Provisioning was especially painful. If a machine failed, building a replacement from scratch to meet our specifications and security requirements could take an entire day. That simply wasn’t sustainable as we grew.

With Iru, especially combined with Apple Business Manager, we can now deploy, remediate, and manage devices in a fraction of the time. Devices can be configured quickly and consistently, policies are enforced automatically, and I no longer have to constantly “check in” on every machine.

As we scaled from 15 to 50 employees in about a year, Iru was a true lifesaver. It allowed us to grow without needing to expand IT headcount, while also improving consistency, security, and overall efficiency.

 ### 9. Streamlined Apple Device Management with an Easy Interface and Excellent Support

**Rating:** 5.0/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Joshua J. | CTO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 22, 2026

**What do you like best about Iru?**

We love the managment tools it gives us to prevent loss and steamline setup of devices when onboarding / offboarding teammates.

The process is straightforward and interface is easy to use.

It also integrates perfectly with our Apple devices to prevent headaches of needing to know everything about the backend of the systems.

The pricing is within budget and support we recieve when needed is excellent.

I have yet to utilize the AI tools, but I trust that they will add to the overall value and performance of the product. I also expect the AI tools will streamline the performance of the enrollment process and save me time daily.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

I wish there were a mobile companion app that offered the same level of management, so I could handle things at a moment’s notice right from my pocket.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

It has provided emergency, direct, and simplified management of our company devices, resulting in zero loss of devices and no downtime since implementation.

 ### 10. Intuitive Blueprinting and Smooth Apple Device Onboarding with Iru

**Rating:** 4.5/5.0 stars

**Reviewed by:** Boudewijn v. | CEO, Small-Business (50 or fewer emp.)

**Reviewed Date:** April 15, 2026

**What do you like best about Iru?**

What I like most about Iru is the combination of its blueprinting functionality and overall ease of use. The platform is very intuitive, which makes managing Apple devices accessible even without a dedicated IT team.

The blueprinting feature allows us to standardize configurations, security settings, and applications across all devices with minimal effort. This not only improves consistency, but also saves us a significant amount of time in day-to-day management.

Onboarding new users is also very smooth. The enrollment process is straightforward, and users can simply log in with their Microsoft 365 credentials. Within an hour, devices are fully configured and ready to use, creating a seamless experience for both IT and end users.

Overall, Iru strikes a strong balance between usability, automation, and efficient onboarding for our Mac-only environment.

Coming from no prior solution, the investment initially feels significant. However, we strongly believe that a well-implemented MDM solution is essential nowadays, both from a security and operational perspective.

**What do you dislike about Iru?**

The initial implementation requires some time and effort, especially if you have general IT affinity but not a deep technical background. Setting up integrations (such as with Microsoft Entra ID) and properly configuring blueprints can involve a fair amount of trial and error.

That said, it is definitely manageable. Iru provides solid documentation and tutorials, and their live chat support is very responsive and helpful when you run into issues.

One area for improvement would be offering more structured implementation support. For example, an optional paid onboarding or guided setup service could help organizations get up and running faster and with more confidence, especially those without a dedicated IT team.

**What problems is Iru solving and how is that benefiting you?**

Before using Iru, we didn’t have a centralized way to manage and secure our Apple devices. Device setup was largely manual, which made onboarding time-consuming and increased the risk of inconsistencies in configurations and security settings.

Iru solves this by providing a structured and automated way to manage our entire device fleet. With blueprints and automated policies, we can ensure that every device is configured consistently and meets our security standards from the start.

This has significantly improved our onboarding process — new employees can be up and running within an hour — and reduced the time spent on ongoing device management. It also gives us much better control and visibility over our environment, which is essential from both an operational and security perspective.

For a small consultancy without a dedicated IT department, this has made a noticeable difference in efficiency and reliability.
